Great for Moses Lake to now have a Salvadoreño kitchen. Pupusas were big and filling, and all options had the right amount of cheesiness. They do not have plantains on the menu, but I enquired about fried bananas--and viola! If you love those like we do, just ask. Their tamale w/pollo was filled with big chunks of tender breast chicken, and the masa was creamy dreamy tasty. Everything was homestyle and fresh, but this is not fast food, so don't expect it to be. Our host/server Cody was great, and while we are very familiar with the cuisine, I watched him kindly explain everything about the menu to several tables of tenderfoots that came in after us. I don't usually eat in the restaurant so I don't know about the environment in there to eat and it looks pretty small but I will tell you the food is delectable fantastic I enjoy eating the food there and they have a lot of gluten-free options. The Pupusas are phenomenal the sauce they serve with them Compliments them very well. If you're looking for a great alternative to regular American food I recommend this restaurant it's really good and I watched one of the workers unloaded truck with all the fresh ingredients while I was getting a pedicure next-door so I know everything is very fresh there. read more

We tried El Chele on recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! My personal favorite was the papusa with cheese and jalapeño- whatever is in the slaw they give you takes it over the top! Their horchata is the best I have ever had, so creamy and just delicious, and a lot of it. We also got the steak and rice & beans, and the steak was very tender and juicy. Excellent place! I'm vegetarian, so a lot of traditional cuisines don't work for me--my fault, not theirs. I went in to El Chele looking for Plantanos Fritos, but they didn't have it. The proprietor was very friendly, and he asked me questions about my not eating meat, whether I was vegan, and so on. He ended up making two kinds of revueltas--zucchini and jalpeno, which were both excellent. Good flavors, nicely textured masa, and good-sized portions. I was so happy to hear we have a new type of restaurant in town! And El Salvadorean at that! We got takeout and we were very happy with our order. The pupusas are massive compared to others we've had, and we loved the revuelta filling. We also had the arrachera, which really hit the spot.
