When In 1933, bootlegger-turned-sailor-turned restauranteur, Donn Beach opened the world's first Tiki Bar. His concept was an amalgam of all he learned to love in his travels: Caribbean food, Polynesian décor, stiff island drinks. If not for the fact that Mr. Beach died in 1989, I would track him down and shake his hand. This barroom visionary bears responsibility for one of the most resplendent dinning establishments I have had the pleasure gracing in my near-two-score years on this planet - Tiki's Mariscos Bar & Grill, Quincy, Wash. 2018. Who My friends and I were visiting the area, staying at the Crescent Bar rentals. After a three-night run of music and not-delivery pizzas, we had to run into town for a couple errands. Where Following a seamless passenger drop off at Chester's in George, we took a short, straight jaunt down 281 to Quincy where we came across Tiki's. The exterior was modest, with ample signage and a parking lot vacant (lots of parking). From outside, we heard the din of music - a quality that only improved as we stepped inside. What The place was empty save for a gentleman at the bar, and a female bartender standing behind the bar - backlit by a spire of colorful liquor bottles. We sat ourselves at a high-top table, where the bartender promptly greeted us with menus, water and inviting welcome. We ordered Tequila Sunrises, Bloodies, and Mimosas. Once she left, before perusing the menu, we paused to let the place's magic sink in. Behind the bar three silent televisions played: formula off road 4x4 extreme hill climb racing; Charreada (competitive rodeo from Old Mexico); and muted karaoke closed captioning song lyrics. At the rear of the restaurant, tucked inside a DJ booth was a big screen television displaying contemporary country music videos. It was flanked by two speakers on tripods cranking out some of today's sickest country cuts: i.e. Pontoon by Little Big Town (https://youtu.be/V0O0nzkESTI). Why To eat, we ordered ceviche as a starter; chicken and combo fajitas for our main courses. The ceviche arrived quickly. It was a symphony of seafood so light and fresh that I could have mistaken the high desert of Washington setting for hide tide in the Caribbean. We heard our fajitas before we saw them. The meat and veggies sizzled on the cast iron skillets...resounding first like a far-off round of applause that then grew into an ovation as our server neared and placed the steaming dishes before us. We set upon the cacophonous platters with flour and corn tortillas. Our conversation around the table ceased, the way it only does when everyone in your party is enjoying spectacular food with stiff drinks. Brett Eldridge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSBtr1ML7mI) soundtracked our meal from the big screen and speakers, filling our silence with his insightful lyrics: I can't help but laugh 'cause I kind of like feeling this way.I woke up, up still drunk, drunk. I am so drunk, drunk. Bathrooms Bathrooms are nice, clean and located near the entrance. A nice Tiki-touch was the belt buckle-height hole punched through the bathroom door and gauzed over with packing tape, which gave the single-holer a comforting glow. Conclusion I've been to the Gorge a few times, and I imagine I will be back. I regret to say I will most likely never make it back to Tiki. It was too good: drinks too on point, food too delicious, songs too on message, company too much fun. But don't let my gain be your loss. If you are reading this within a 10 hour drive of this blessed bar, stop reading and start driving.

Stopped here with our kids (6, 7, 9) for dinner. Ordered Aguachilles (shrimp) and a quesadilla, they were really good! Would definitely eat there again! Also ordered a couple micheladas, they were really good! Pics attached! :)

Adorable $6 strawberry blended Margarita!

We stayed at a hotel in Quincy for a music festival at the Gorge and my goodness, there is barely any civilization on this side of the state. Thanks to Yelp, we were able to find an awesome place to eat that was really close by. The server was really sweet and informative, she knew we were going to Paradiso by the way we were dressed. The menu consist of classic American finger food type of deal like mozzarella sticks, onions rings, fries, etc. There are also quesadillas and tacos. For the price, I am more than happy with my tacos. It was only $1.25 for each so I got 3 at first, but it was so good that I ordered 2 more. The meat was just how I like it, well-done and a little crispy. My friends got drinks and they loved it, can't go wrong with a $6 margarita either. So my bill was $6.25, that's less than a Big Mac meal at McDonald's and was 10x's more delicious.

Great little restaurant / bar in Quincy WA.

We found this fun pub in Crescent Bar for dinner one night. It's away from the busy and bustling…read morearea further South and has pretty decent food. The restaurant theme is airplanes decorated with airplane items throughout. The interior is large with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor and bar area with seats. As others have said in prior reviews, the menu can be limited at times. We went on a Sunday night during Watershed weekend so it made sense that they were out of some items. For example, we were told there were no burgers or paninis available that night. Too bad as I had wanted to try the tri tip panini. Darn. We ordered flatbread pizzas. I had the Spitfire which had smoked pork over BBQ sauce, cheese blend, red onion, black olives and mushrooms. I read in a different Yelp review that they smoke their own pork, so I had to get this one. It was by far, the favorite one! My wife tried the Falcon which has ham, pepperoni, sausage, salami, bacon, marinara sauce and cheese blend. For some reason this one was sorta "meh". Maybe cuz we had the wonderful Spitfire flatbread to compare it to? Along with dinner I tried the Beach Bum (another prior Yelp review recommendation!) which is a beer of half Kona Big Wave and half Mango Cart. This beer blend is perfect for hot Summer nights! Overall, we had great service from the do-it-all bartender. He was super nice and friendly and the prices were reasonable. I would return when in the area in the future but would go earlier in the day to try some of the other items before they run out.

This past weekend, I went on a girls' trip to Thousand Trails. We wandered over to The Hangar…read morePub--a quiet, hole-in-the-wall locals' bar filled with airplane décor. It's nothing fancy, but it had charm. We enjoyed some drinks and shared a plate of nachos. The food wasn't anything spectacular, but the company was great and we had a really fun time!

With 45 minutes left before closing at 10 PM, I was able to order fish and chips, substituting…read moretater tots for french fries, and adding a bowl of tomato bisque soup. All the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The tomato bisque was exceptional! Terry, the cook, came out and said hello, asking me how I liked the meal. I let him know that I'm a trained chef, and his meal was fabulous! The waitress said he's worked there for 15 years, that his specialty is prime rib, served every Saturday. I will definitely be back for that. This bar has been here 85 years, and I moved here 30 years ago but had never been here till this evening. I'm guessing the food here is better than most of the restaurants in Wenatchee. The decor is plain and simple. The ambience is what you would expect in a local bar with a long history and a loyal local clientele. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and the staff was friendly. Even being charged a 4% credit card processing fee, food pricing is better than other restaurants. So are the quality and portion sizes. New tables and chairs with cushioned seating fill two dining rooms. And there is plenty of offstreet parking. All things considered, it's worth the 20 minute drive from Wenatchee down to Rock Island, just to enjoy the food and the drinks. I don't think anyone gets turned away here. What's not to like? This was a five star experience for me.

Good service, clean establishment, great staff. The…read morebreakfast buffet is no better than a continental breakfast at a Best Western, maybe worse. Moldy raspberries and mushy blueberries....do better with quality control. Sausage gravy can either make or break a breakfast meal. They use a nasty powder gravy mix that they added a little sausage to....this was horrendous. Anyone who would disagree has no taste buds. Bacon, sausage links, scrambled eggs, biscuits. In addition to a casserole with all these same things was overkill. adding some crepes and/or quiches to the menu would be nice. Lastly, tell your customers that you charge a credit card transaction fee. I hope you have signs posted but we didn't notice any.
