Dang... This would be the first less than stellar Mex experience I've had in ML in decades. Had an early dinner with my fellas, and it was as memorable as eating Mex in Northern Manitoba. However, I will say that our hostess/server, was a joy in friendliness, and made us gringo gorillas feel welcomed and cared for. She was also an absolute smoke-show of my age, and my guys had to remind me that I was happily married to their momma. Regardless, my Milanesa Torta was a shoe leather sandwich, and the burritos my guys ordered were average at best, after a taste test by moi. my favorite restaurant in moses lake! i also love their taco truck. my regular there is the torta combo (includes a drink + small bag of chips) for only $10! the food is always delicious and so is the horchata, which is my favorite part. as well as the chips and salsa. the service is always great and quick! i have loved coming here since i was a little kid :) read more

Mistake! We thought we were ordering from the other Taco El Rey on Yonezawa. The one with all the great reviews! But no. We ordered from this one. The one that can't wrap a burrito, charges $2 for some cheap, low quality sour cream that should have been included, and passes off unidentifiable, greasy bits as "beef". Darn it. read more

I ordered the Jalisco tacos, it say that this tacos are made with steak, I thought it will be some kind of clean meat, good quality some how, but no, it was Diezmillo, this is a very cheap carne, I am not saying that is not good, just saying that the menu don't say on this specific meal that is Diezmillo, but in other meals it does. Given an advice to the restaurant, if you are going to use diezmillo on tacos at least chop the meat smaller so is not hard to chew, I took all the meat out off my tacos and sadly I end up having frijoles tacos, like they say "Para frijoles en mi Casa" Not coming back. read more

Was in Moses Lake for a baseball game, and I know I can get some great Mexican food when I am in town. Wanted to try a new place and Tacos El Rey was recommended by my fellow yelpers. Man....is this place good. The place is clean and tidy, the staff was very friendly. Easy parking, but a little tight if you have big truck. My man crush and I were wanting something light before we hit the road back home - so we ordered the street tacos. For $1.89 a piece, I could have eaten 20! We ordered the carne asada and pollo, both were so fresh and flavorful. We washed them down with a couple of Dos XX. I do need to mention the salsa....a little on the watery side, but man oh man was it good. The salsa has a little heat, but it was perfect for us. Okay!!! Here from California. I'm so picky about my Mexican food. Do get: Quesotacos de barbacoa!!!! I'm not sure what the difference is between this and Birria but I came looking for Birria. It is SO FREAKIN GOOD. Honestly, wasn't impressed by their rice, and I've tried the burrito grande I believe it's called. The asada was the meat choice, and I was not a fan. It was extremely fatty, too hard to chew. But still 5 stars for the tacos. I'm not sure I'll ever order anything else again lol. read more

This is a mixed review, and I hope management picks up on this and makes some changes. Tacos El Rey does great work in our community, and I'd like to see them succeed. Food: Well seasoned and prepared. I had Huevos Rancheros. They came with handmade corn tortillas which were excellent. The eggs were cooked very well, served on hard corn tortillas, which made them easier to eat, and had a good Ranchero sauce on them. The rice was OK--not a great texture, but the flavor was good. Staff: Very attentive and friendly. Our waters were filled frequently, we were offered more chips when we ran out, and our order was taken promptly. The food came out fast, and was a good temperature. Eating experience: Something will have to change before I come back. The restaurant was nearly empty, but we were seated next to a family with a very loud child. That's exactly what happened last time we ate here. There was ear-piercing screaming through part of our meal. The restaurant was very cold. The worst for me was that we were seated on the left side, one table away from the open hallway that holds the bathrooms. Every time the bathroom door opened (frequent) I was enveloped in the smell of Lysol and the underlying smell that the Lysol was supposed to be covering, but wasn't covering well enough. It was nauseating. A second door, air-lock style, or better ventilation in the bathroom itself would probably help. So would seating people on the other side of the restaurant. With a drive-through Mexican place going in next door, El Rey will need to step up their dining experience. read more

I really don't know how this place has such a high rating while the food is cheap it is not even edible. As usual when let down by Yelp I find most high rated reviews are by new yelpers that may or may not be fake reviews and the business is a advertiser and or offers specials on Yelp weird huh. I ordered the lunch special Carne Asada. The pleasant server quickly brought me my lunch. The. Carne Asada was some strange cut of meat that I have never seen before and I have eaten a lot of Carne Asada it was very fatty and had lots of gristle in it. I was unable to eat it as it had a weird flavor almost as the meat was bad. I am just hoping I don't get sick from that. The rice and beans were very blah but the salsa that came with the chips was very good and the service was pleasant. I did not eat my lunch but a bite of meat and some chips. I am still hungry so I have to find somewhere else to buy another lunch. read more

This place probably deserves a better review when put up against the other places in Moses Lake, but I can't say from first hand experience. The service was friendly and attentive. I had the chicken Verde enchiladas. The chips and salsa were DELICIOUS as was the green Verde sauce. I really enjoyed the spice level of both; they had a bite to them without overpowering the taste of the meal. Beans left something to be desired. A little too thinned down I think. It can be mighty hard to settle on a Mexican restaurant in a town like Moses Lake so after several hesitant loops though town I stooped in here.... and was glad that I did. All the usual menu choices were present and based on what I saw they were cooking it all from scratch. The seafood meal I had was delicious and I devoured it. The tortas here are only 3 bucks, so my friend ordered two... whoops! they were so big that he had trouble finishing the first one before we left. My only small complainant was that when you walk in there is no indication on whether to order at the counter or be seated, which leaves you awkwardly standing there for a few moments until someone comes out of the kitchen. read more

I was surprised to see a nearly vacant restaurant. Ok, well, I decided to order the fish tacos. Brother ordered the breakfast burrito, and Dad ordered a triple meat burrito. I don't know how, but there was an "error" with my brother's burrito. How? There's hardly anyone here! The fish tacos were unimpressive. The imitation crab meat killed it. Yesterday on our way back to Spokane from Leavenworth we wanted some tacos & found this place on Yelp. When we got there, the service was quick, we got a free basket of chips & salsa which were super yummy. We ordered 2 chicken tacos & an order of Huarache.. OH MY GOD. It all tasted super fresh, it was delicious & their green sauce (made of jalapeño, avocado & cilantro) is hands-down the best. We will never go thru Moses Lake without stopping here. So don't listen to the haters, they're obviously picky eaters & think they are something special because they can leave their opinion on Yelp. this place has incredible food & I never leave reviews on Yelp. read more
