I just moved to Quincy from North Carolina a couple weeks ago, and I was happy to see all the Mexican restaurants in town. However, this left me with the question... which one is THE spot? Well, look no further. Central Market flooded my tastebuds with a magically delicious, mouthwatering, make ya wanna slap ya momma, amazing goodness. Upon hearing I was new to town, the lady who took my order (I'm sorry ma'am, I didn't get your name) was super friendly, and let me know about all of their options and recommended the steak and shrimp burrito. Now, I like seafood, but I've never been one to prioritize putting it into a Mexican dish. However, I figured I better listen to the one who probably eats the food there regularly and would know better than anyone. Thank you ma'am. You changed my life forever. The first bite of that burrito made my toes curl (in the best way possible). It made me want to rip my shirt off and beat on my chest like a gorilla it was so good. It was so good, that I wanted to drive back up there and order ANOTHER one before I even finished the first half of it. It was so good, I almost DM'd Gordon Ramsay on Instagram, just to send him a picture of it and tell him that he ain't got nothing on it! It was so good, I thought for a second that I started seeing the light and that God said it was my time to ascend. I would've taken a photo, but my mouth was watering more than Snoqualmie Falls by the time I got home, solely due to the savory aromas obliterating my nasal cavities. But you best believe next time imma try and discipline myself enough to take a photo of it before my 32 little teefers gnaw and bite their way through this God-inspired perfection of a burrito. Jokes aside, this was seriously the best burrito I've ever eaten. I frequented many Mexican restaurants in the almost-three decades I lived in NC, and NONE of them compare to Central Market. If you're ever in the area, or even if you live in Guatemala and somehow see this review, I beckon you to fly out to the Pangborn Airport in East Wenatchee, rent a car at the Enterprise there, skeddadle over to Quincy, and SMACK down a $20 bill down in Central Market faster than you can blink, and order the steak and shrimp burrito. I didn't know there was a town called Quincy on the eastern side of the Cascades. I didn't realize "Central Market" was going to be what it is, and not the excessively bougie one I'm used to. I also didn't know how amazing the food would be. It is. Maybe I'm a little biased since it was the first time I ate in a "restaurant" since March 16, but you can't fake good quality food. Central Market is a Mexican grocery store (albeit small) and they have an awesome cooked meats section. I was tempted to get a gigantic chicharrone, but the carne asada fries were calling my name. I'm a sucker for fries, so also a little bit of a cheat, but ooooooooh man. So good. The meat was savory and the crema and the other sauces on it were such an amazing balance. We also had the barbacoa and carne asada burrito and a chicken fajita (there were 4 of us! Not just me!) and plates were practically licked clean. This state continues to surprise me. So glad I tried Central Market while staying in the area. I couldn't choose between the Carne Asada Fries and the Steak & Shrimp Burrito, so I ordered both! My fiance are staying at Cave B inn and we were looking for food we can bring back to our hotel room. I found Central Market via Yelp and I'm so glad that we did! I ordered the steak & shrimp burrito and my fiance ordered the California burrito. Both were delicious - very good flavor, generous portion, good salsa. The California burrito had some heat to it even without any salsa. I love salsa so I poured both the red and Verde salsa over mine. We had just arrived at Cave B spa & Inn on a Sunday and could not get into the restaurant our first night. Using Yelp it seemed we had two choices got to George or go to Quency. Not many places were open but after reading the reviews for Central Market in Quency and we thought we would try it. They had put up a new menu which had over a dozen items including the Steak & Shrimp Burrito. We decided to try the Carne asada fries. It came with queso, pica de galo, guacamole & sour cream on top of the carne asada which was on top of crisp french fries. Sounded strange but it sure tasted great and would order this again next time. (Maybe after trying the Steak & Shrimp Burrito first) Also tried a beef tamale (they were out of pork). It came by wrapped in plastic but it was warm. Tasted ok but with out any sauce it was dry. read more

Ever want to be invited to join a Mexican family for a feast? Well this is where they get the food for that meal...! I was in Quincy last week on my way through town around midday. Yelp directed me there. I posted a few photos of my food (I'll address that in a minute). In the 30 minutes or so I was there I observed several families come through purchasing the avocado, onion, cilantro, fresh tortillas, queso/crema and (awesome) carnitas to make said meal. Good signs of food to come... In the reviews I saw a mention of a Steak and Shrimp burrito. I was eager to try it when I entered the market. However, I didn't see it posted anywhere in their "deli" area. They had carnitas tacos, burritos and a torta and that was all. I asked if there was another menu somewhere - sort of dismissively the man behind the counter said "this is all we have". I pressed in! I said I had heard about this burrito and left the statement hanging in the air... he cocked his head at me and said "it's only for those who know about it". I asked if I could order it - he said "it will take 10 or 15 minutes". I am a patient man :^). His demeanor changed completely. He then said he "invented" this burrito I told him I couldn't wait to try it. It was all worth it: fresh tortilla, tender but nicely charred small bits/strips of steak, a little rice, a little beans (not enough of either to get in the way of the star of the show), plus... at least six LARGE, perfectly cooked shrimp, and lastly - an awesome sauce embedded in the burrito. It was creamy (crema and avocado?), spicy (chipotle?), herbal (cilantro) and just enough to flavor and cover everything - but, not sloppy either. Great burrito!!
