Disappointing experience @ Pillar Rock Grill in Moses Lake, WA. Beautiful spot with a view of the golf course. Service by Hannah was good at first, but we did not get checked on after our breakfast was served, so we were disappointed we didn't get our coffee refilled, and were we not given spoons to stir with. Our meals were pretty basic breakfast options. The eggs were nicely cooked to order, the sour dough toast was great as well. Unfortunately the bacon was not cooked thoroughly, and the side of fruit was hard, tart, and not ripe whatsoever. We will not be returning customers. read more

Really tasty dinner salad. Generous size and kid style thousand island dressing Ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. Crispy outside pink throughout and well seasoned. Is this a golf clubhouse? My last day at Moses Lake it was recommended to me to visit Pillar Rock Grill. Not going to lie, best meal of the trip was right here. Yes, it is off the beaten path and outside of the area where most of the restaurants seem to be located but it isn't that far. There is plenty of parking and the view of the golf course and all the squirrels made me pleased. My co-worker and I sat outside on the patio underneath a large umbrella. Our waitress was wonderful. She was engaging, attentive, friendly, and funny. All the employees wore masks and still I could easily pick up how each was feeling and acting despite the lack of the lower half of face to go off of. She provided us with paper menus that had a variety of sandwiches, salads, and wraps. I opted to go with a bowl of their crab bisque and their salmon and rice. I also ordered a glass of the raspberry lemonade. The lemonade was huge! I mean, that was the largest lemonade I have had in years! I ended up drinking a quarter of it and then pouring my water in it to lighten the sweetness. I prefer it not as sweet as this was, but it was very good. My only mistake was ordering both the bisque and salmon. It simply was too much food. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was roped with this tangy sauce that was delightful. But that bisque is where it's at. It was rich and creamy with a little bit of heat. The large chunks of crab meat was delightful. I can't stand vegetables and I found I didn't even think twice about them as I downed this bisque. While I was overly full I was also very happy. read more

Yummy restaurant! We grabbed some food on our way home from vacation here and got it to go. We got the Pillar rock breakfast which included over easy eggs, regular hash browns, bacon, and sourdough bread. Everything was yummy, hash browns could have been a bit better. We also got the French toast which was amazing. We got fries and fry sauce as well, they were alright. Service was great when arrived, made sure we had everything. Wow! The food was inventive and delicious! My husband, the master of understatement, said the navy bean soup was "really good." He also enjoyed the prime rib dip. I also had a cup of soup and the orange cranberry turkey club which was bursting with flavors - turkey, ham, bacon, tomato, lettuce, apples and a lovely orange cranberry sauce. We had a large group traveling through on a trip to Idaho. 5 adults and 10 children. When we first entered, the hostess did not have a mask on and seemed annoyed with us. When we were seated she said her manager had said that she wished we had called ahead of time. I apologized and we all felt awkward and not welcome. She then told us that the men golfing would be irritated if they saw how much space we took up on "their" patio since I guess if you are a middle aged white man who had a membership at a golf course you own the entire property. Food was blah and we were treated extremely poorly. If they could not accommodate us they should have just told us nicely when we arrived rather than the passive aggressive comments and attitude, we would have been happy taking our business else where. read more

I ate here for a work related function. I'm from out of the area and didn't know this was a restaurant at a golf club. I saw no sign or other advertising that would have let me know that this was a restaurant. The food was good; I had a corn meal crusted walleye that was smothered with an andouille sausage mix. 4 of us for breakfast Saturday morning and hardly anyone else there. After we ate our good breakfast, we were wondering why no recent reviews or others eating here. It's nicely surrounded by green golf course, the place is clean, nicer than average restrooms, and the food was perfect as-ordered. By the way, everything was $7!! First, we were seated and the waitress came by to check on us when she was getting our plates. No water fill up or no asking how are meal was. I got up and asked the bartender for more butter and when he came to deliver it, he asked how are meal was, but no offering of water. The restaurant was not busy and both of the girls were out front at the welcome counter. My apple crisp pancakes were absolutely nothing special. Just regular pancakes with a few candied apples on top. I was not impressed. My husband can't have sugar because of his arthritis, but the omelette had BBQ pork. This description was not given to us. My husband was hungry so ate. Since no one came to check on us and we just wanted to get out of there, we did not ask for anything else to replace it, even though it was off offered at the end of the meal. Waited about 15 minutes before the waitress took our order. I asked for bread about 20 minutes later for the kids at the table. Food arrived...had a chop dip (good!), 2 Reuben's (equally good!) 2 hot dogs for kids, a kids pizza and kids mac n cheese (horrible). I don't think we will return passing through again. Food was good, but the service was terrible. Our server never came out to check on how our food was nor did she refill our waters one person at our table went an hour without a drink. She came out with our bills but we had one more person joining us and some of us wanted to order another beverage. She only brought out 2 out of the 4 that were ordered and when our other guest arrived she did not come out and take his order. We eventually had to go inside and ask for our checks. As a New Year special, my wife and I got two entrees, an appetizer buffet, and dessert for $50. We liked the appetizers better than the entrees. The food wasn't exceptional but it certainly wasn't bad either. The service was great, our waitress checked up on us regularly, and all the people working there were nice. Decided to try Pillar Rock for breakfast. Nice place, very quiet for a Saturday morning, but too cold for golfing. We ordered chicken fried steak breakfast, and the all meat omelet (bacon, ham, German sausage and chorizo and cheese). Each breakfast was $9. You get a huge portion for that price. It was pretty good. It comes with hash browns and amazing toast. Or you can get pancakes or biscuits and gravy or fruit and toast. So lots of options. The chicken fried steak was definitely from scratch, could have been tenderized a bit more, but really good flavor. Good hot coffee. Very friendly, attentive server. There was only one other person there, so we were served quickly as well. All in all, we would try it again. Well worth the price you pay. read more

Happened upon this place while in Moses Lake. Its really a beautiful building. It has lovely views of the green and the interior is a classic plaid with wood accents, which makes it feel like a sports clubhouse. I liked the vibe as soon as we walked in. There were lots of bigger groups enjoying lunch and everyone seemed in good spirits. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered a couple beers, pretty decent selection on tap. A couple local IPAS and some classics, like Stella and Manny's. We were worried the prices might be a little steep since this place seemed high class. Yet when we looked over the menu everything was extremely reasonably priced. There were plenty of delicious looking selections, and I ended up changing my mind and going with the special, the monte cristo sandwich and fries. My boyfriend ordered the steak with roasted potatoes and a garden salad. Everything was pretty tasty. I've never actually had a monte cristo before which is like a sandwich laden between French toast, smothered in powdered sugar. Ham, turkey, cheddar and swiss. It was like sweet and savory. Pretty good. I liked the food overall, and the prices, and the service was great. Will definitely be returning to this spot in the future! Was invited by Jim to visit Rotary. The Pillar Rock Grill hosted the meeting. The locale was comfortable and accessible. Now that I know where it is my wife and I will become regulars in the restaurant. The food was good; delicious and plentiful, especially for a buffet where everyone ate the same faire. Pillar Rock is such a great place to eat. They have a great menu with such variety that everyone is sure to get just what they're craving. Last night I had the special which was a sirloin steak with a crab cake on top served with asparagus and choice of potato. I had french fries. Everything was perfectly cooked and exceptionally tasty! The margarita I drank was also perfectly made. Our server Corey was splendid with all the right touches of friendliness and professionalism. I cleaned my plate and left totally content. It was a hot day and we had our dog with us - there are almost no places with outdoor seating in Moses Lake - our third call was to Pillar Rock Grill at the golf course close to where we are staying and they said yes we could have our well-behaved dog on the patio. The service was great - the server took our unusual requests for two dishes and came back with amazing custom veggie and pasta dishes from the kitchen where the chef made exactly what we were looking for. The meal was really excellent and fresh. The drinks were good too (raspberry mojito and beer from a local brewery). We will absolutely visit this restaurant again - they were so accommodating and helpful. A great experience! read more
