Minced pork rice, Taiwanese sausage
Ashley L.

My family and I are from Taiwan and this is the most authentic Taiwanese food we've had on the east coast!! The inside is very clean and the owner is super friendly - felt like home. I highly recommend the Taiwanese chicken roll, steamed fish, water spinach, and stir fry noodles. Definitely come here for a fantastic Taiwanese experience.

Tried this location because it was in walking distance from the hotel. It was definitely not my favorite food. The service was very nice and I do believe that was the owner that was super kind and very friendly to me while I was there. Their prices are very reasonable, but let's get into the food. I started with the crab Rangoon and I didn't like them. Not only did they lack in flavor, but they also seemed a bit oily. Next, I had fried chicken wings and they were just OK. They were fried too hard and I don't know how long the chicken had been sitting. I also had a shrimp spring roll and it was mostly vegetables and very little shrimp and again it tasted a little oily. For my main entree I had the happy family, which was supposed to be one of the chef's specialties and it was really lacking in flavor. I did not like the taste of the meat that was Inside... not the chicken, nor the shrimp or the beef. The best part of the entrée was the vegetables. Overall, I was really disappointed and I would not return.

Interior: simple and traditional - plenty of indoor tables Service: owners were very friendly and did not rush us to order when we were waiting for a friend and the food came out soon after we ordered. Chinese seems to be their first language but they are able to communicate in English as well. Food: we ordered the everything from the Taiwanese menu. Everything was tasty and authentic! We will come back to try other items on their menu. It is a quite extensive menu.

We got some take out on our way back to CT and enjoyed the food a few hours later. They held up so well and portion was very generous given the affordable prices. We also got a bag 1.25lb of frozen Taiwanese sausage to take home. Our 4 dishes with the frozen sausage came out to be around $55. We also got a pint of rice. Not sure if this is typically included or which dish it came with. We ordered off the Taiwanese menu. We tried the Taiwanese styled bamboo with pork strips. It has a very clean flavor and the bamboo was super fresh tasting (not canned). The flies' head dish which has bean curd was not as spicy as the version in Flushing's Beigang restaurant. It was very saucy and spilled when I took it out of the bag so be careful. This dish is perfect when enjoyed with rice. The chicken roll was flavorful and the sauce it came with was garlicky and very Taiwanese. It was very meaty and yummy. The Taiwanese sausage fried rice was filled with the sausage. They did not skimp! All in all, wish we live closer so we can enjoy authentic Taiwanese food more often.

Combination Platter: Chicken with Chinese vegetables, Pork Fried Rice, and Egg roll.

While attending several events at the Hyatt across the street, I have somehow never made it to Lin's Palace. Interior is very interesting, decorated with various vases, ships, and art. I was seated quickly, and the restaurant was semi-busy during my visit. Appears to be BYOB, but I would check before bringing a bottle. Menu was extensive as expected from a Chinese restaurant, but be aware this is not a sushi place, none is on the menu. Ordered the Combination Platter Chicken with Chinese vegetables. Came with various options for sides, I went with the Pork Fried Rice, no soup, and the egg roll. Soda is served in cans. Food was average, but the portion size was good, and it arrived quickly. Egg roll seemed to be mostly vegetables. Why I gave Lin's a higher rating was for one unique thing: Watching who I could only guess was Mr. Lin work the room. Checked on every table and chatted with the people, multiple times. Other employees also did it too in-between Lin's visits. It was a fun and interesting sight to see. Overall, for the experience it was cool. Food was ok, but perhaps a tad too expensive for any basic Chinese food orders.

From the moment we sat down and served fried noodles with duck sauce and hot tea, to the moment we were handed the cheque with fortune cookies; we enjoyed every bite. Tonight we ordered the following menu items which came out to $31.00: * Chicken Lomein * Seafood Soup for two (2) * Eggroll * Shrimp Toast Cottage II offers a wide variety of Asian cuisines such as noodle soup, hot and sour soup, barbecued pineapple chicken, kung pao baby shrimp, sliced beef Hunan style, Peking duck, Mongolian lamb, noodles, fried rice and more. The restaurant also offers a few lighter steamed dishes without salt, sugar, corn starch or MSG and served with fresh vegetables. The restaurant's lunch specials run Monday through Friday from noon to 3pm. Free delivery is available on orders of at least $20. Catering and party orders are also available. We were very excited to discover Malay nearby in Morristown, and we had to check it out. We ordered the Malay Prawn Mee, Chicken Sambal, and the Roti Canai. Roti Canai is one of my favorite Malaysian dishes, but this didn't quite hit the spot. The roti wasn't soft and dip-able. It was kind of flaky and kept falling apart every time I tried to use it to scoop up some curry. The curry was a little watery and not all that flavorful, and I defintiely would've appreciated more than just one or two chunks of potato and chicken. The chicken sambal and soup were additionally a bit disappointing. The chicken sambal was just okay for me, and the flavor didn't really blow me out of the water. It almost felt like something I could make at home. The soup similarly did not have a particularly rich or flavorful broth, and left me a little dissapointed. Another thing that really influences my review is how cold it was inside. It got even colder when people opened and closed the door. It was so cold that our food didn't seem hot. I think the cold air cooled it off instantly and we were left eating room temperature chicken and soup.

The chicken proteins are high-quality; the veggie dumplings are tasty quick bites; the front of house is congenial and accommodating. The best dish we had was the kung pao chicken, which brought a little heat, and was color- and spiciness-balanced by the zucchini and carrot veggies. Then I'd say the next best was the fried veggie dumplings, which were true hand food and not oily. In third place was the sesame chicken, which was just fine. My mom wanted to substitute bok choy for the broccoli that normally comes with the sesame chicken, which they cheerfully obliged even though our order was several minutes in at that point. All in all, a full step above your standard Chinese takeout! You won't regret trying it.
