Went here just after opening on a Saturday morning. The selection of food was fantastic, and most of the food was definitely a few steps up from most of what you find at Chinese buffets in general. The pork ribs were a bit tough and dried out, however. The jalapeño chicken was definitely a highlight. The staff was attentive and friendly, and our drinks never got empty. I also love the fact that you pay as you enter. It prevents the sometimes nearly interminable wait for a server to bring you a check and cash you out. When you are done eating, you can just walk (or be rolled if you've overindulged as has a way of happening) to your car and be on your way. Makes the entire process more streamlined. Overall, I think this place is worth the 20-minute drive it took to get there, and I will be returning as often as is feasible. read more

Let's start with the positives: They opened on time. The inside and outside are nice with decent parking. Now the realities:::: THE FOOD IS AWFUL. Most of the items are greasy. The " less fried" shrimp tastes weird. The food overall has an intense tastelessness to it. The best thing there appeared to be a sushi roll slice, perhaps crab and the seaweed was ok.... The desserts were dry and seemed old and mostly bland- at 11:30 am??! DO NOT go to this place. The food is BEYOND suspicious. :/ Also it started to leave a weird taste on my tongue - near the tip and I had a hard time trying to get rid of it. My friend got an upset stomach as we were leaving. No Stars, really. I will complain to management/ owner. I can't fathom how places like this stay in business-- they have to know the food is bad-- being clean doesn't mean the food is good or fresh or that one should ethically take short cuts while charging 11 plus beverages about $13 for little choice and things that aren't good. Lin's needs to put more-- wait-- BEGIN to put energy and care into the food. Aka overhaul this place or shutdown. read more

Don't mess with the Southside when Chinese food is on the line. If you calm the calamity in your mammaries while you wait for your table, you will be rewarded with Chinese buffet standards, sushi, Mongolian BBQ, Americana and desserts. Fsckn awesomesauce. read more

Lin's Grand Buffet - Buffets Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

See all

This restaurant is dirty & smells bad. There is a lot of gum stuck on sidewalk by door. The doors are dirty. The carpet is filthy. They give you paper plates and plastic silverware. All the sauces are so watered down so that nothing is flavorful. They use a lot of unflavorful oil with everything, even the green beans. They charge over $3.00 for a cup of tea. Only water comes with the meal price, all other drinks are extra. Do not waste your money at this restaurant! read more

I know it's always a hit or miss with Chinese buffets. So, I went in knowing that this would be the case. I was really impressed by the look of the restaurant. It looked more like an upscale buffet. So, I was hopeful. However, the food was a complete let down. The lo mein and fried rice were beyond bad. The rice was dry and almost crunchy. The lo mein was covered in grease and had a weird taste to it. I also tried the sesame chicken (bad), beef and broccoli (broccoli was good, but beef was mediocre), Kung Pao chicken (bad and no spice whatsoever), jalapeño chicken (the only good thing about it was the spice), crab rangoons (ok), and egg rolls (gross...they taste store bought). I also tried the Mongolian grill. There were limited choices to create your noodle dish, but it sufficed. I added noodles, broccoli, onions, chili oil, garlic and Mongolian sauce. The meats looked odd and dried out, but I added pork nonetheless. And, I really wish I didn't. The chef added way too much oil it made the dish incredibly greasy. And, the meat was chewy and dry...the broccoli was way undercooked. This is by far one of the worst buffets I have been to in a very long time. read more

Prior to my visit, I called the establishment to inquire about Covid-19 safety protocols. The employee stated that they were following safety measures including disposable utensils, required use of gloves to select food, and facemasks when unable to adhere to social distancing. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the hostess offered to sit us in a crowded area. This area had several tables situated less than six feet apart. The tables were each full and because people were eating, they were not wearing masks. Please note that there were enough empty tables inside the restaurant to allow for seating at every other table or to allow for proper distancing between tables. When we declined to sit at the offered table, the hostess was visibly annoyed and told us to sit 'where ever we wanted' and she walked away from us without sitting us. We elected to sit far away from the crowding in an isolated area that was as far away as possible from the food area. As we were going to begin eating, the same hostess proceeded to sit a couple in the booth immediately next to us. This couple included a woman loudly coughing and sneezing. Note that these booths share the same back and head space. Also note that there was enough space to sit us and this couple with plenty of space between each other. As soon as the woman coughing arrived next to us, we immediately told our server that we were not comfortable, and she proceeded to move us to another table. We then asked to speak with the hostess to inquire about why social distancing rules were not being enforced and why a person coughing and sneezing loudly was purposefully seated next to us. The hostess told us that because "Gov. Ducey had removed all social distancing protocols" the restaurant management did "not care to create social distancing" and that it was "up to the client/consumer to move themselves" from where they were seated to find a socially distanced spot. If an inspector were to walk into the restaurant, he/she would be able to immediately see that patrons are purposefully made to sit in overcrowded areas less than 6 feet apart. The restaurant management could, if they wanted to, sit patrons at every other table to ensure their safety. Pima County "requires all establishments require their patrons wear a mask unless exempted or able to maintain physical distance". Lin's Grand Butter purposefully violates this mandate by situating tables less than six feet apart and by sitting customers in crowded areas even if there is enough space to create a safe environment. Ultimately, this experience was a waste of time and money as we opted to leave for fear of our safety. This restaurant should not claim to adhere to proper covid-19 protocols when this is not true. Spare yourself the risk and eat somewhere that cares about the welfare of its client, not about charging them money with complete disregard. read more

Went to Lin s last night and the food was decent however when we got home, my husband and I both got stomachache the whole night. We are still recovering from it today read more

So I went here today at around 1130 this morning opening time I go through the line and in all honesty I could not find anything fresh seems to me they are serving the previous days food. It was very disappointing I really liked this place do not think I will be coming back. The fried rice was not cooked all the way through still had some white and then fell gummy and lumpy. They had some strange looking meats the broccoli was not cooked all the way through. On top of everything the soup was cold along with a lot of their other items. Their fried chicken and french fries were good. The men's room was filthy and walls were dirty fe ces on the toilets and remember this is opening time. I just hope I don't get sick to the bad experience will not be returning be careful with this place. Yikes read more

For the most part it's a great price on a really busy they run out of food so the real good it's always gone!

I'd give it 0 stars if I could. The first time I went there was hair in the food and this last time I went I had forgot my mask and was approached by a worker telling me I needed a mask when everyone else wasn't wearing one and I understand we have to wear our masks but she just walked up to fill the food and decided to turn all the way around to tell me something and then just walk past everyone else read more

the blonde old lady that makes the sushi always gives me THE STANKIEST look when i go get sushi it makes me so uncomfortable and the only reason why me and my family don't go there as much ever since she got there read more

5 stars for the STAFF! 0 starts for the FOOD! We spent way too much $$ and time for extra greasy food with little flavor. Stale pizza for kids and no wontons in the soup. We would rather eat at Panda Express. read more

I had very bad experience. I went and 80% of the food was empty. Took about 15 minutes to get all good filled. Took about 20 minutes for the pizza for kids to be ready. When I asked employee she was very rude. So I asked for manager/owner. She came to my table being extremely rude and loud. Did not even give me a chance to explain. I will never go there again. read more

Usually this buffet is pretty decent but tonight it was just so sad. Got in at 8:20pm on a Tuesday when they close at 9:30pm. A whole hour before "close" and this place was very much done. Most of the food was empty and had crumbs or a slight smearing of sauce left. Once again, an hour before close and almost everything was gone and was not being refilled. Waited for a bit to be hopeful and then saw an employee come up and basically start packing up shop, putting most of the small amount of items we did have away. I'd understand if there weren't MULTIPLE families there before hand or came in around the same time I did but here we are, 30 minutes before close, and everyone left is eating left overs from the day. I understand not wanting food waste and staff wanting to go home asap. However, do not have the place open till 9:30 if you're not able to accommodate the guests appropriately. Or at the least give us a discounted price for a limited menu. read more

It was very fresh and great for what it was which is a Chinese buffet. The whole restaurant was clean, cool, and an overall great environment. The sushi was a little stale but if you're expecting great sushi in Tucson you're crazy. Great variety of fruit/desserts and lots of ice cream options. Parents were happy. I think they should add crab legs for dinner! read more

We've never had an issue here, but this time was bad. The customer service, not coming to the table, not picking up our plates, drinks. Putting our hands up and they would look at us and walk by every time. Trash laying all over the floor like the gloves, they would walk over them, not picking them up. read more

Looks can be deceiving! Building looks nice especially in pictures. Extremely expensive for a buffet so I expected a high quality meal and great service. $46 for 2 adults and a child. The grill in the back was not being manned and it was pretty tough to get an employee to help. After getting someone to man the grill and cook, the flavor was good but the noodles were stale and chewy. The sushi was old and hard and seemed unsafe to eat. Overall quality of each food item was below average or worse for this style buffet. Our daughter loves Chinese food and she did not enjoy any of the usual items she eats to include the lo mein, chicken on a stick, orange chicken, all difficult items to screw up. Will not be returning and highly recommend others avoid this restaurant and try McDonald's instead to be less disappointed. read more

In 60 years this is probably the worst Chinese buffet I have ever eaten at. While I didn't see any cockroaches as one reviewer had stated, the food was subpar to say the least. Pretty much all of the meat based dishes either tasted old or reused as well as the texture of the food. I only found two items that were satisfactory and that was the breaded shrimp and the spare ribs. All of their dishes with broccoli tasted like crap, I observed food workers scraping food off the buffet back into the dish compartments, that was disgusting. There was really nothing good I could say about the place. All I can really say is if locals come to this place to eat then there's something wrong with them. I wish I would have spent the extra $20 and went to a good Chinese restaurant like Cheng's or somewhere else. As far as I'm concerned I wasted $60. That was last night when we went for dinner and surprisingly no one of us has gotten sick yet. read more

Good selection of the standard buffet fare. I would recommend it. Hot, well prepared food. Egg drop soup....superior. I would give five stars...except my sister says only 4.5 because no almond cookies...fail! read more

The sushi selection is great, the to-go prices are great too. The only thing I'd like added to the buffet is those cheesy mussel things.

I was Looking forward for the egg soup very disappointing very oily. Everything else the rips, chicken, enchiladas, fish, mushrooms, an the dessert was good. The waitress was great. Had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for a table but was worth the wait. read more

Service was good, kept the drinks and plates off of our table. Food was alright, not sure if I would go back again. Would maybe try another buffet. read more

Very nice appearance and clean. The food was nothing special same old thing. lacking a few of the normal Buffet items like the Sesame balls the coconut shrimp and the little coffee cream cake desserts. The waiter was nice. The bus boys were a little rude when I told them the plates were wet they said that's because they are clean. I understand that but can they be dried they were dripping wet. I am glad we did not wait when we came on the weekend it was very crowded if you want to give it a try go on a weekday read more

Went there recently w/a group of 16 & all of us enjoyed this huge restaurant w/many choices @their buffet. I especially enjoyed the clams w/black bean sauce & the baby octopus. oh man I love this place! Went here for a work lunch and was able to get out the door in an hour. The wait staff was very attentive to drinks and refilling them as necessary. The price was well adjusted for the lunch hour ($10) and the food selection was outstanding! They have a Mongolian BBQ section as well. I like the American section, they definitely accommodated with American lifestyle and food selection. Food is hot and the staff is very attentive, what more can I say? read more

Across the way from Planet Fitness... never a good idea to go to an All-U-Can-Eat buffet after a workout! But it's been a month since I have been to the gym (another story for another time)... so today was my first trip to this place! The hostess was pleasant and smiling... great variety of food which I thought was very yummy... I ate A LOT! My server was attentive... kept my soda full and my just-finished plate(s) were always gone when I returned from another round of loading up with food. Last thought... never a good idea to go to the gym after eating at an All-U-Can buffet either! read more

After striking out on my first Tucson Chinese Buffet experience, this place was a breath of fresh air. I took my in laws here on a Sunday afternoon and the waiting area was packed, to my surprise we were seated within 10 minutes. The staff works hard to turn tables quickly and there is always a fresh dish being changed out on the buffet. This place has all the Chinese buffet classics, (e.g. general tsao's, fried chicken wings, beef and broccoli) all of which were executed masterfully, as well as a sushi bar, Mongolian grill and steak cooked to order. Lin's exceeded all my expectations and I recommend it highly. read more

With the word "Grand" in your name, you had better live up to it! Lin's Grand Buffet's meat certainly is Grand in every way. The food selection is the largest I've seen in town. The staff is friendly and continuously refreshing all the food stations. The sushi is made right before your eyes and is among the best in town! The staff is courteous and fast at meeting all of your requests. read more

We went there tonight for dinner the buffet is large and plentiful Didn't care to much for the sweet and sour sauce it was very runny. The A/C works real good a little to cool would blow the extra napkins off the table. Our server topped off our drinks and cleared the dirty plates. read more

This was my first (and probably, last) trip to Lin's. I was under the impression it had lots of American food, as well as oriental. I suppose the name, "Lin's" should have been a dead give-away. Actually I didn't pick it -- a relative did and we agreed to go with them. First the good. Beautiful, inside. Appeared to be clean and our waitress was very attentive. Now the bad: The selection of food wasn't to my liking, but again, the name would be a dead give-away, in retrospect. The tables are too close together. It's hard to get up and down without bumping into the person's chair behind you at the next table. It's fairly loud. The ranch dressing was about the same consistency as water. With a little mortar between the biscuits you could make a wall in your garden. I can't describe how hard and dry they were. I won't be returning, but in fairness I'm a meat and mashed potatoes kind of guy. I definitely didn't think it was worth the $28.00 + for my wife and me; and that's with the senior discount. There were a lot of people eating in there, so maybe it's just me. read more

Great selection, love the grilled steak and make your own stir fry. Plenty to choose from, after 3 pm lots of seafood selections available

The food was great! I gave it 3 stars because aside from good food I believe in good service. The files need to be told to treat customers with respect. We had already paid and realized we did not have cash on us for tip. I asked our waitress how could we still pay with our card? She asked for our receipt and took it to the girls in the front desk, one of the girls from the front desk yells out at me HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO LEAVE FOR TIP!? Infront of everyone!!! I told her: Can you bring me the receipt! When she got to our table I told her: I am not going to yell out the amount! That is so disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of her apologizing she justified and said because I decided to give the tip afterward now they have to fix the receipt and that is why she was asking for the amount. I told her: yes, but you should come to the table and ask, not scream it across the room! She never apologized!!! A place should have good food and good service regardless. Just my point of view. read more
