Ordered soup and it was spot on Eggdrop and hot and sour. Pepper content in the hot and sour was a bit high but not unusual. I loved that they had brown rice as an option. The edamame was crisp. The hot and sour soup has a great flavor. The Rangoon's were great. I don't have any complaints. First time customer, got it today. Everything tasted fresh and was good. Crab rangoon was a little too sweet but the size was huge and def made fresh, would get them again. The ambience is clean, comfortable and quiet. The dining area can seat about 30 patrons. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. They have a large menu selection and it's hard to choose because it all sounds good. We ordered on line for carry out and it was ready when promised. Everyone enjoyed their food. The only downsides were: 1. The vegetable fried rice was a little dry and the broccoli had a strange taste. 2. You can get fried rice as one of the rice choices with your meal, but it seems to be rice with soy sauce and nothing more. I'm use to at least seeing egg mixed in but I could be wrong. None the less it was good mixed into my jalapeño beef, which was delicious and the beef is so tender that it melts in your mouth. So minus one star for the vegetable fried rice being on the dry side. We enjoyed our meal and will go back. Best WonTon soup I've had in Texas. We went with friends and here is what we ordered: WonTon Soup - very good, only complaint, it was lukewarm, it needed a boost in temperature Pot Stickers - Fried. Tasty but the sauce lacked zing, it was boring. Singapore Noodle - Very good but needed more heat (spice). Was supposed to be rice noodle but appeared to be a thin egg noodle of some sort, which changed the texture. Combo fried rice - excellent MuShu Pork - Excellent Sweet & Sour Chicken - boring with no pineapple and only a few chunks of bell peppers, we had to request additional sauce. Mongolian Beef - Very tasty, super tender beef, variety of onions. General Tsoa' chicken - This was our one disappointment. The chicken itself was all breast meat, large pieces, cooked perfectly, but the thin sauce lacked tang, heat & depth of flavor, and was very sparse on the meat. The chrysanthemum tea popped out immediately, telling me this was going to be something other than a copycat Chinese restaurant that we've all seen before. Hot and sour soup is my test of a Chinese restaurant that knows their stuff, and it was so good I couldn't think of any improvement. Vegetable spring rolls, papery but not crumbling, that's tough to pull off. Main dish was the Happy Family house specialty. The brown sauce was a delight. The place that I normally go to had been closed down recently due to health code violations and this was the first suggestion that popped up in a close range. The food was amazing and the portions were huge. The service was fast for a takeout order and I didn't feel like we waited long at all. We went during lunch time on Saturday. The restaurant was fairly empty so service was quick. We tried the sesame balls. They are sweet and filled with red bean paste, unusual as an appetizer but delicious. My wife tried the honey walnut shrimp. They seem tempura fried, have a sweet creamy sauce and the walnuts add a nice texture and flavor. Delicious. I tried the sesame chicken, deep rich flavor on the sauce, just as sweet as I like. My daughter wanted Chinese (Asian) food so I looked up a restaurant on Yelp and this one was rated number one. I didn't even know it existed until I found it on Yelp. Wow, am I glad I did. This place Rocks!! The Staff is very organized and helpful. They seated all 9 of us quickly then took our orders about 5 minutes later after getting us drinks. Finally found an exceptional Chinese eatery. It was a 35-minute drive, but worth every mile. We live out in the sticks, so every trip we take to go out to eat involves some miles. My ratings are simple: excellent, very good, good, fair, awful. I ordered Mongolian Triple Delight, and my wife chose the Vegetable Chicken, both with fried rice. We also tried the pork egg rolls and vegetable spring rolls and hot and sour soup. The soup was a little unbalanced. Too much white pepper and not enough sour, but it was good. The egg rolls and spring rolls were very good. Both entrees were excellent. The portions were huge. The chicken was tender, the beef was melt-in-your-mouth. The shrimp was perfectly cooked but had no flavor, typical of farm raised shrimp (vs. wild caught). My expectation for the shrimp was confirmed, so it didn't knock the overall rating down to very good. I just won't order it again. The fried rice was very good. The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant and the thermostat setting comfy. We always take extra layers of clothing or a jacket along when we go into a restaurant because most of them are too cold. Forgive me, we were hungry and failed to take photos. This was our first visit to Lin's off Parmer Lane for lunch. The place was clean and orderly, with adequate seating along the perimeter. Staff were welcoming as we walked in. We started with steamed pork dumplings (8) per order. I didn't quite care for the dipping sauce and asked for hot mustard and chili sauce. They were ok, I wouldn't order it again. My husband ordered off the chef's specialty menu, the beef and scallop in a brown sauce. I was a bit worried that it would be salty but was pleasantly surprised. This entree was a small portion but reasonably priced for the meat and scallop slices. We all know the cost of food these days. I was curious of the pad Thai and was a little disappointed, tamarind is generally obvious to the taste and did not detect it in the dish since the sauce seemed more on the brown shade, not reddish and too saucy. I ordered the combo and seemed they were generous enough with the beef, chicken and shrimp. I also had to try their Szechuan eggplant that I enjoyed, cooked perfectly and not too sweet as I've had. Overall, the staff and service were excellent, quick delivery of appetizer and entrees. In all honesty, they weren't busy at 12:30pm so there was no reason to not expect great service. My family and I are always looking for good Chinese food that isn't so Americanized. We found a really good little spot with Lin's Cafe II! First, the staff is super friendly and the restaurant is very clean and comfortable. We have done both to go and dine in orders and both times, the food was fantastic. The egg rolls are very flavorful without being overstuffed with cabbage and the shrimp rolls were not dried out or over fried. I have had the combination Kung Pao (chicken, beef and shrimp) and the General Tso's chicken. Both servings were very generous and the flavors were great. The king pao took me back to a little place I used to frequent in college. I haven't been able to find anything that reminded me of that place until now. It was a very nice surprise. None of the meat was over cooked and they didn't skimp on the sauces when plating either dine in or to go orders. Please go by and give Lin's a try.
