As I was sitting trying on glasses and asking questions (like about my insurance coverage, the turn around time, etc. ), the woman was busy multi-tasking- on the computer, looking at paperwork (not mine ), going through boxes, barely noticing me... She made me feel as if I were somehow inconveniencing her- even though I was on time for my appointment. She got up several times, leaving me just sitting. At one point, she saw me get up to go and asked me if I needed something. Yes, I have questions. She said she would be right back and left again. I value my time. I work very hard for my money. Horrible service and scamming customers, after spending over $450 dollars on two sets of frames, they would not guarantee their work. First I got one set of frames which they did not adjust the frames and they kept falling off, until they got scratched up and gave me headaches. They told me to buy frames and said they would get me new lenses for the first frames I had bought. I fell for their trap and bought new frames thinking they would take care of me with new lenses for the other frames I had bought. After waiting 16 days to get the new frames and new lenses, I came back to have new lenses on the old frames which they had promised and now they change the story and tell me I have to pay another $150. I had enough at point. My family have been customers over many years but this was the last drop. Do not recommend their service for the bad quality and dishonesty! read more

Dr Brenda Lien is amazing! Ask for her if you want a optometrist that loves her job and is truly here to serve her patients. Brenda is friendly, smart and very detailed oriented in her work. She also takes the time to explain to you what your results mean and how it translates to daily life. They open late, so this is great for those who have busy work schedules. As for the location, the optometry is connected to a frame store. Very large selection and updated styles. Great customer service as well. Large parking lot and free to patrons. read more

I don't quite get the way LA Yelpers review, or maybe I'm just blessed. I'm getting my 3rd and 4th pairs of glasses from these guys. I have had no problem. I visit here from Dallas. I just get my eyes checked here while I'm in town for Christmas. This is my 3rd visit. The selection is second to none. Cartier, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Coach, Armani, Versacce, Ralph Lauren, and on and on and on.... I guess I have good insurance because it covers everything. I've never had to wait over 15 minutes for my appointment either. I DEFINITELY recommend getting an appointment over walking in but that is true of almost any establishment. I called on a Monday and had an appointment for Tuesday morning. No problem The little woman who helps me with my glasses is goofy but good. I explained the size and style I want my glasses to be and she went back and looked through several catalogs to find a pair I would like. For a 20 dollar transferrable (in case I didn't like the frames) deposit they ordered the frames for me to try on and approve (I LOVED them) and the frames were in within 3 days. My insurance requires my frames to be mailed off but that isn't Linden's fault. I've had nothing but good experiences with these guys, I don't get what all the whining is about. Also I may come off sounding like a 5 year old at first but it will get better. LOL I hate this place! I hate this place! I hate this place! Ok. 5 year old tantrum over. If I could give them negative 100 stars I would. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HATE this place and yes hate is a harsh word. First off, they swindle you in all their pricing, tell you about some bs return policy when you come back with an issue, give you the run around, don't help you, don't have any knowledge in any of their products, and then try to charge charge charge charge for everything. UH NO. I don't think so my friend. It got so bad that I spoke with management and even they kept trying to hassle me! Finally I got my situation resolved, still left unhappy with glasses I didn't like, still spent money, drove there 5 times, waited waited waited, basically served myself since no one knew what was going on, and I still feel swindled. How the heck this happened I will never know. Once they get your insurance information and order something you're just stuck. It's just a mess. They assured me a pair of Chanel eyeglasses I wanted would fit and of course after they ordered them they did not fit. They looked ridiculous. They bent the frames out and messed them up so bad that I got dizzy whenever I put them on for just a moment. Basically the lenses got bent and messed up in the process as well and they kept telling me they were fine. NO THEY WERE NOT FINE! What is wrong with you people? Did anyone try and find something for me to exchange these with? No not really. Did anyone offer to adjust anything for me? No they did not. I actually had to go and take the glasses myself to the other department to get them adjusted so that I could get a good feel for how they fit. Once again, Linden has not disappointed. Last week I went for my vision exam then for frames. Since I already sort of knew what I wanted, I was able to pick them up in about 5 minutes. We ordered them, she told me 10-15 business days, they called after 4 business days. That has been the usual turnaround with Linden. The best has been 2. As I was picking up my glasses today the optometrist and my husband were chit chatting about the cost of glasses. Turns out my insurance rocks because I only had to pay $46 for glasses that would have cost me $410 out of pocket. Nice! read more

No complaints at all. I was in and out in one hour. My appt was at 3:45 and I was in front of the doctor by 4. The staff was friendly and the doctor was extremely competent. My insurance covers one eye exam and one pair of glasses a year - but they said I really had such a minor vision issue it was up to me. So they passed my honesty test. They have an incredibly large selection of frames at all price levels. So I will definitely be coming back next time. My doctor was del Santos ( believe that was it) and I recommend her as well. read more

I'm surprised that this place doesn't have more stars. I came here a couple of months ago and had my glasses and contacts done here. I'll start off by saying yes, Linden is a huge place and very busy, so yes, you will have to wait, even with an appointment. However, I think that for a place of it's size, it's run very efficiently, and communication between staff members are done very well. I got my glasses covered through VSP but had to pay a little extra for the fancy schmancy stuff. Later I came by for contacts. I told my optometrist that I was looking to change the type of contacts I had. They were good however, they moved too much (due to astigmatism) and got really dry. She recommended Acuve Oyasis and gave me a 2 week trial pair which I ended up loving. I got my contacts for a deal plus a rebate. From the looks of it, the store has a huge selection of frames for sunglasses or just regular glasses. I had already bought my own so, maybe next time I'll pick out a pair. Tips - Definitely make an appointment and definitely arrive early - The wait for the appointment was quite long, but once I got into the exam room, I was in and out within 20 minutes. - There is parking around the back, get onto Union (it's a one way street) and on the left you'll find a parking lot). - I believe they only accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express for credit cards. -Bring something to do! read more

This isn't a review for any of the doctor's that work here, but for the optometry itself. I've ordered glasses here a few times over the years and the advantage of Linden is their selection. They have thousands of frames you can try on. My beef with Linden is their sales staff and front staff. On a recent visit, they had some issues pulling up my insurance. The issue turned out to be the fact that they put my birth date in the wrong format for the search query. I'm sorry, but you guys do this every day... The salesperson that helped me was super high pressure and a bit rude. I didn't have my prescription on me but wanted to order a pair, so I asked if I could send it via email that night. She handed me an email address, and I said I would email it at night. She then said she needed me to email it to her on the spot. Ummmm.... right. I've been going to Linden for about 4 years. Always hated the packed waiting rooms and the hour + wait for an exam, despite having insurance and making a reservation weeks prior. But the final straw happened earlier this year... I go in to have my frames adjusted. The woman goes in the back brings them back to me with what appears to be a sticky film on the lenses. I figure it's cleaning solution and take them home. Later that night when I'm seeing haloes around every light source I realize that wasn't solution, there are actually tiny, web-like cracks in my lenses! I go back to Linden and demand that they pay for the damage they caused. What's the best they can do? A 20% discount off new glasses! After they destroyed the glasses I bought from them only a year and a half ago. There are plenty of optometry stores in Pasadena and I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Going to make this as short as I can. Go anywhere except here. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Ordered a pair of frames that turned out to be clearly defective after 2 weeks. I go back and show them the defective glasses and it's like pulling teeth to get them to order another pair. After waiting 2 weeks, new pair arrives and after 1 day of using them, the same defect occurs. Go back and they say they can't do anything because they already tried to fix the issue by ordering me another pair. As the employee is telling me this, the customer next to me is getting assistance from another employee and is being told that their frames will have a 1 year manufactures warranty and a 30 day satisfaction guarantee if they aren't pleased with the frames they have picked out. After speaking to a 'supervisor' the employee helping me says i can pick out frames that will fit only the lenses I already have. If i decide to go with anything else, I have to pay full price for anything I get in regards to frames and lenses. If this business is just trying to rip people off 1 time, get their money, and never have customers come back, then it's definitely achieving it's goal. I don't know what their mark up is on items but whatever they made off of my purchase is the only money this place will ever get from me. Glasses and contacts are not cheap and with the world we live in today, there's absolutely no reason to go to businesses that are shady in their dealings with the public anymore. I am just about allergic to every particle on earth, and Dr. Limfat has been wonderful at taking care of my eyes. He focuses more on cures as opposed to quick and temporary remedies. I am thrilled to have him as an Optometrist and very blessed to be under the care of someone I can trust. Due to a selective memory lapse of how I lost my left contact lens on New Year's Eve I'll never know, so for the past couple of days I had to wear my glasses which I got at Linden 2 years ago with no problems. This place for most either a hit or a miss. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and have never had an issue. I'm always seen less then 20 mins past my scheduled appointment time. I am always pleased with my eye exam experience( Thanks Dr. Duran, she is Wonderful) and I walk out with my new contacts that same visit. I don't know if it's that I'm low maintenance when it comes to my eye wear, since I don't have a name brand frame since I only wear them at home or that people expect too much from this place to begin with. I do have a private insurance, but know I would pay more for my contacts and wouldn't be seen for weeks to get an eye exam. I was in and out with an eye exam, new contacts, they fixed my current crooked frames, and my nephew picked up the remainder of his contact lens all in under 2 hours and I got my $10 off yearly return discount all on a Sunday while I got to watch football at the same time. I have worn glasses since the 3rd grade. I used to have to wear those ugly ass 80's frames that hipster broads from Wisconsin wear now to be cool. Let me tell you, those frames were not cool then and they are not cool now. I went through the whole 7th grade sitting in the back of the class having all the teachers think i was a mental defective and illiterate just because i refused to wear my ugly glasses. Some time in college, i got over it. Glasses became an accessory. I began to collect frames and now i wear different glasses depending on my mood. This is where Linden comes in... This place is a factory. A well oiled machine. From the moment you come in you are on the assembly line. Fill these papers out with insurance info. Sit in this room, see the doctor. Puff of air in the eyes... which one is better- this one or this one. Contacts or Glasses? Okay then off to the big room with frames, or this other room for a contacts fitting. I have never seen the same optometrist twice in the 6+ years i have been coming here and i don't care. Like I said before, I've been through this song and dance since i was 8, It's just an exam. Some doctors are nicer than others, but overall its decent service. I know what you are thinking, "four stars for just decent service"? The four stars are for their extraordinary selection of frames. The sales assistants are not necessarily helpful. BUT again, I don't care. I know what I like and what I'm looking for and I don't need someone holding my hand through the process. ONCE, I have found the pair I want, I sit down with the sales associate, they try to sell me the anti this and the anti that. I say, "no thank you" ask how much then I go to the counter and pay. I come back in a week to pick up my glasses and then again 2 or 3 times to have the frames fitted because they do such a lousy job the first time. But I don't care. I was a little apprehensive about going here after reading all the bad reviews but on the recommendations of some co-workers, I gave L.O. a chance. I have to say it was a great experience. I called to make an appointment and they were able to get me in within 2 days. On the day of my appointment they called me in maybe 10-15 minutes late; not a big deal. I placed an order for sunglases and they were ready the next day. When I picked them up the manufacturer didn't include a case so the lady helping me went in the back and found one for me for free. Not sure where all the negative reviews come from. They were punctual, very professional, and the prices were reasonable. Definitely would go back there again. read more

I went to Linden and purchased a pair of glasses a month ago and still have heard nothing. My sales agent (Stewart) was very nice and did a good job selling me the product. The issue is they (including Stewart) seem to ONLY focus on the sale and then you fall into a blackhole trying to receive your glasses. I was told it would take two weeks to make the lenses and prior to this I would come it to confirm the tint. It has been a month and when I call I'm told I have to go through my sales agent who conveniently is not available when I call. I also have VSP eye insurance but they charge such a ridiculously high price for the lenses (3X what you pay online) that even with your insurance it's still less expensive to purchase glasses online without any insurance all all. Bottom line - they are great at making the sale but put little to no focus into producing/delivering your glasses as promised. I will NEVER use Linden again and I warm you please do not make my mistake by being sold by the sales staff only to later be ignored. read more

Time to find a new place. Went in, had an eye exam, purchased new glasses. Got them 2 weeks later, could not see! They cut off the part I use to read with. Went back, they told me try them for a week then come back. After 1 week, went back, got re-examined, doctor (or whatever they are) said there is nothing wrong with the glasses, they are exactly as prescribed, perhaps it is the shape of the lens, the brand, the bend in the lens. I ordered NEW glasses, they are perfect! Why can't I see out of the other? No answer whatsoever. No offer to refund my money. And these were both expensive pairs. I WILL NOT GO BACK. I agree with Jimmy C. This place sucks. They do have the most amazing selection of frames but their service is awful. For the first time in my life, after going through the whole 'a or b' 'b or c' action, I couldn't see through my lenses. The whole world was warped and my head hurt. I called to make an appointment and they said I couldn' t make an appointment for a 'do over' and that I needed to just come in. When I got there, I was told I should have made an appointment. Then, I couldn't see the same doctor. I waited and then when I finally got to see a doctor, she argued with me - she kept insisting my prescription was fine! I stood my ground and she finally re-did the eye test and agreed my prescription was incorrect. Hello. What happened to the customer is always right? After almost ten years of using Linden Optometry, I'm done with this place. This establishment has grown too fast for its own good. Gone are the days of friendly service. When I called in to check on the wait time to see an optometrist, I was told it was 'against their policy to quote wait times over the phone'. I should have taken that as a red flag, but now I know. I drove 45 minutes from West LA. When I checked in, I was told there was a 2 hour wait for an optometrist. Why this couldn't have been mentioned when I called illustrates how customer unfriendly this place has become. They quite literally want you in the door so that they don't turn customers away. Well that policy can certainly backfire. If I was told the wait time over the phone, I would have opted to make a reservation instead of having to drive almost an hour to be told something that could have been easily communicated over the phone. I was so livid that they wasted my time for nothing. I've been loyal to this place for a long time but frankly I just don't see the point anymore. The place is like Walmart now with overwhelmed staff. There are so many better options now for a more personalized experience. Getting a prescription and new glasses shouldn't be as distressing as visiting the DMV. That's exactly what this place has become. Goodbye Linden. I've been coming to Linden Optometry for almost four years. I've had several exams and have been fitted for contact lenses twice; I've also gotten a pair of sunglasses here. I've read through most of the reviews because they are really entertaining. The negative ones are especially enjoyable because you can tell they are written by people who think the world owes them a favor. Linden Optometry, fortunately or not, caters to a very very wide demographic. I think they are doing themselves a disservice by making themselves accessible to so many (too many) people - not to mention the fact that they are feeding folks for free on their endless cookies and coffee. They accept just about all insurance plans and have the most open schedule of any optometry practice I've ever seen. Their doors never close - and the staff are clearly overworked because of it. They have an ENORMOUS selection glasses - it's a bit stressful to be released onto the floor after your exam. But you will find exactly what you're looking for. You do need to accept that the salespeople will be pushy. They're supposed to be. Be an adult and politely ask them for time to browse. The wait is bad at times but I come here so infrequently that I mentally prepare myself for the worst. Exams are very quick and efficient (The doctors are very astute and know that you've likely been waiting for a while.) so you're out of the exam room within 15 minutes, if that. Linden's a family owned business. Not a corporate chain! If you have a complaint, they seem to respond well to direct inquiries with management - not these cowardly one-star reviews on yelp. Recently, I was the recipient of some unexpected remuneration! So I decided to celebrate. Should I... Take a SPECtacular vacation to Australia? (no) Buy a turquoise Tesla (my favorite color)? (no) Get some new glasses? Yes! So after my weekly adjustment with Dr. Roman, I walked over to Linden Optical and was really blown away by the size of the place and the overwhelming array of styles, frames and colors. OMG, through careful selection you could create numerous new personae for yourself! Too many agonizing choices but I finally decided. A very nice professional lady measured my eye space and then took my prescription which was from a well known competitor. Also I presented her with the coupon from the Pasadena Weekly which brought the price down to $99- so how can you complain? She told me they'd be ready the next day. When I came back a few days later, Fred Ong adjusted them for me and we had a great conversation about glasses, donations and what to do with old lenses. OK, so it's a cattle call. OK, so you'll never see the same doc twice (although I've always been pleased). OK, so customer service is hit-and-miss. OK, so even if you have an appt, there will be a 20 min wait to be seen. But, with your expectations set, you will find THE BEST selection of frames here. And ultimately, that's what keeps me coming back year after year, and why I recommend this place to friends. I can take an average-at-best hour at Linden, and get an outstanding pair of frames. I've never gone without an appt, so I can't comment on that. I'll also disclose that price isn't my #1 concern when picking frames, and I often choose designer pairs (my last ones have been Coach and Chanel), but quality eyewear lasts for years, so IMO it's worth shelling out the extra bucks. I have VSP, and usually end up dropping about $200 out of pocket for designer frames and lightweight lenses with UV protection and anti-glare. There are other ways I pinch pennies, but not with glasses I wear every day. I'm not a fashionista by any means, but I want to feel confident in the face I show the world. If you don't care about brand-name frames or are looking for a "one-doc-office" experience, this isn't the place for you. So, I just walked out of here with a new pair of glasses that I had to purchase BECAUSE THEY BROKE MY OLD FRAMES AND MADE ME PAY FOR A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES. Ok, again now. I JUST HAD TO PAY FOR A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES BECAUSE THEY BROKE MY OLD ONES. I walked in here with the intention of having them make a minor adjustment on the only pair of glasses I had, which awesome, yes, this service is free. Hector was the one to help me. Hector brings my glasses to the back office and comes back with a now broken pair of frames and looks at me with no hint of remorse and tells me that they broke while he was trying to make an adjustment and that they have frames starting at $25 that I can purchase...ummm, hold up. I proceed to explain to him how I don't think it makes sense for me to have to pay for a new pair of frames as he is the one who just damaged the ones I came in with. Now, if there had been a waiver of some kind or as a professional he could have told me that the part of my glasses he was working on had the risk of breaking (which he only said and used as an excuse AFTER the glasses broke), I would have had the knowledge and confidence to make a decision on whether I wanted to entrust my glasses to him or not. To me that is just good customer service and honestly using common sense. What this all leads up to is him showing me a $75 pair of frames because they are the only pair that will fit my lenses. He then says he can knock them down to $40. Um, NO. Why should I have to pay for something that THEY broke? He speaks to his manager, Matthew, and in the end after some long back and forth excuse-making I still end up having to pay for a new pair of glasses. The final total was $10 which I know is next to nothing for a pair of glasses, HOWEVER, it is the principle of the matter. If I come to your business seeking a service and that service is not met and not only that, I now have damaged goods, why should I be the one to pay? Overall this place just left me with a bad taste in my mouth, negative $10 out of my pocket, one broken pair of glasses, one new pair of glasses that I never wanted and don't really like (though yes, at least I'm not walking around blindly and I now have a new pair of glasses) and the knowledge that this place is kind of a scam and that the employees and company are really not capable of taking responsibility for their own mistakes. Which yes, we are human and we make constant errors, but at least, own up to it and run your business with respect to your customers and fix the mistakes that you make. read more

First I was denied service last week saying that I need to have my insurance card with me to make an appointment. Lie. My insurance called them to question why someone said that to me. Ever buy something with a nice box and a pretty wrapping only to open it and find it absoulutely worthless? Then you know what it 's like to deal with Linden Optometry. It's a beautiful facility. The selection's tremendous. Any designer, any brand, any price range. But once you think you've found something you like, your troubles begin. Is it the right size for my face, you ask? The salesperson shrugs, nods. I guess so. Does it come in other sizes or finishes? Again, a shrug. Run now while you have a chance. If you sit through the Disneyland-type snake line to get seen by an optician, you'll soon find that there's only one or two there. Everyone else is wearing a lab coat like a costume. Your exam is perfunctory and your soon trying to arrange payment and get your insurance in order. That will take half the afternoon. The date you may get your glasses depends on a hundred different factors, but none of them make sense. My wait was from Christmas to Valentine's Day, and still nothing. No one knows what's happening. No one knows who to ask. You'd be better off just picking something at random out of a magazine and sending a check. Try using Costco. I've finally decided to give in and help myself to better vision. Upon seeing an ad on the Pennysaver and doing some research (yelping) for a local office, I was highly attracted to their 99$ package (single vision lens only). So Saturday noon I decided to call for more information. The receptionist on the other line was extremely helpful. Unfortunately I was told over the phone that Astigmatism was not "single vision" and did not qualify for the special. Bummer. A little doubtful to still get an eye exam and pick up glasses, I proceeded to ask her if I could schedule an appointment. She responded with, "I'm sorry we are entirely booked today." Super sad face on the other line. Walk-ins? Yes, but a 2 hour wait. Shut down again lol. Then I asked if I can pick up a cancelled reservation and she said I'd have to call and check in periodically. After a 2 second awkward pause, she said, "Ok, hold on... Let me see...". Crossing my fingers, she came back on the line and said, "We actually have a cancellation at one thirty." Yaaayyyyyyyyyy!!!!! I see online that they have a $10 off coupon for an eye exam. Print. I show up 30 minutes later, checked in for my eye exam ($69) and decided to check out frames. 15 minutes later I meet with Dr. Peters. He was very professional and informed me of everything he was doing and why. I asked him about "single vision" and he said, "Absolutely, Astigmatism qualifies as a single vision lens." Yaaayyyy AGAIN!!! Shortly after, I was escorted back to the frames side where I could pick from a wall of non-uber cool brand name frames. Wishful thinking.... found ones that worked perfectly! $99 for an eye exam, frames, and lens. Love it! Received a call the next day to pick up my glasses. Went in, got fitted. Finito! I walked in and immediately said, "wow... this place is huge" I was greeted and asked what I could be helped for, I answered and then got a number. After getting called, I asked the lady if I could get my Olive Peoples sunglasses fixed, she told me it was broken and she could not do anything. I asked her if she could at least try. She came back with Ray, who asked me to sign a waiver form and said he would try as hard as he can to fix my sunglasses. After 10 minutes, he came back with my sunglasses fixed!!! Oliver People was going to charge $250 for the hinge and the labor. Ray did not even charge me, I tried giving him a tip but he refused and said it was his pleasure. I tried again because he saved me $250 but he still refused. The least I can do now is write a review about his customer service and his will to go beyond what is asked of him. Thanks Ray! I have been coming to Linden forever and today was the worst service I had ever experienced. I had to wait 40 mins to be seen by an optometrist even I arrived on time for my appointment, I had to walk around aimlessly wondering which glasses were covered by my insurance- when I asked the receptionist, she pointed me toward some glasses and said those are PROBABLY covered; she didn't even bother to check-, then I had to find someone to help me with my glasses selection, then I had to find the woman AGAIN to ask her when my glasses would be ready. Sheesh! Maybe they were busy today or short staffed because I have never experienced this lack of service at Linden before. This won't stop me from going to Linden but it has made me want to try to find another optometrist closer to Van Nuys.... sigh read more

Stay far far away from this place. Unethical!! I generally do not write long reviews. But this place is just terrible. Firstly this place is huge. Feels like a factory. Now Don't get me wrong I had been going to Costco for years so I should've used to it right? No.....Costco had two dedicated optometrists that remembered me every year. I was so sad that I was unable to go back to them because my insurance changed. So I picked Linden because they have been in Pasadena for years so they must be good. Ummmm.....no, Longevity in the business doesn't equate to quality. I was going in for a contact lens exam. I had a 2pm appointment. Granted I was 7 minutes late, But i don't think I should have been waiting until 3.10 to be seen. I have a high prescription and have worn GP lens for years. I had brought records that indicated that. I meet with the doctor (who is nice enough. So this bad review is not for the doctor but the awful staff) who basically checks my eyes and says the same thing that my optometrist has for years. Nothing earth shattering. The doctor stated that the first pair of contacts have to be bought from them. I was a little surprised by that, because after the exam and the prescription you should be allowed to go anywhere to purchase your lens. But whatever. I agreed. After finishing the appointment, the receptionist who was very sweet was a little confused as to why my eye exam costs $169. I have only ever paid the highest of$59 everywhere else. This is in addition to the $238 for the lens. I have only paid $150 for those. The receptionist gets someone else who is so rude. She explains because of my high power it's a special lens fitting?? What?? The doctor said my prescription had hardly changed. And she was ordering the same material on my lens that I already had. So what special lends fitting was there. I'm like why didn't you tell me that it would be that much. And the answer was We didn't know your power was that high. BUT I gave you records!! So finally whoever this woman was, was sooo rude said if you don't want to to pay the $169. You can pay your $15 copay but you can't have your prescription. What?? Dirty sales tactics anyone?? I was so mad. I paid my co pay and left. Now I have to waste 3 hours of my day at another optometrist to get an appointment. I'll update this review once I get that done to relay how much I ended up paying for the exams. read more

It is what it is. Linden is the premier opt center for pretty much anyone that lives in Pasadena. Yes, that includes the hood, ghetto, and barrio. It's loud, and annoying, but I know how to work the system. Words of advice--make an appointment and get there an hour before. The actual eye doctors are cool and have known me since I was 10. Don't be fooled by the ton of "white coats" on the floor--they are not doctors just cleverly dressed salespersons wanting to sell you expensive eyewear. P.S. I wear contacts. read more

Came here to check on my eyes and get my first pair of glasses! They couldn't have made the process any easier!! I didn't even set up an appointment, but if you can, I'd recommend it. I went with someone who set up an appointment and they got done within an hour! I went in right as they opened for a walk-in and I didn't wait too long. All of the doctors and nurses were so happy to help and answer any questions I had. I went later just to see the technician and he fixed my glasses within 20 minutes! He encouraged me to come back ASAP if I had any problems with them. They have a great collection of glasses, but I warn you... it's endless. Even if your insurance limits your choices, there are infinite choices of frames, which is great but it'll be the main reason you'll be there for over an hour. I'd definitely recommend coming here for anything your eyes need! read more

So let me first and foremost say, my husband has been a patient for over 20 years, me, 3 years and my kids for three years. So we have been patient for a looonnnggg time. But every time we go in, there is ALWAYS an excuse about communication between the nurse staff, to the cashier to the other departments. For today, my family and I went in to only purchase a eye glass band for my son because he won't keep them on. It was early in the morning and not very crowded. The nurse staff help us on finding the best one for his frame. She was very nice and have no issue with her. Then we went to the cashier and waited roughly 5-10 min. There was no one at the cashier. There was three nurses at the front checking patient in and looked at us, but did not once ask if we needed help or not. After waiting a cashier came up, because another patient chart was put up, by a nurse who walk pass us. The cashier called the patients chart, and never asked if we needed help. My husband, then told the cashier, we have been waiting for 10 min. Her response was, "I'm sorry, I just clocked in. I don't know who was going to be here." So my husband responses, "we have been waiting just to purchase one thing..." before he could finish, she responded with, "There no reason to be upset!" I set in and explain why it is rude to not help us before the other person, she ignored me and continue to help the other person, so I requested to speak to the manager. Please know I was very upset at this point. The nurse that helped me earlier came over and helped us check out. I thanked her. While we waited, the nurse told us their manager was around the corner on the other side of the wall. So I had to walk over to the manager. Now before I go further... I'm a doctors office manager and the one thing I was trained to do and that is, NEVER have the patient walk to you, you need walk up to the patient/customer to address them and listen to the concern.. instead, I walked over to the manager and started to explain what happen. I explain it was rude for her staff to 1) Have 3 nurse walk pass us and not ask if we need help! 2) The cashier did not even try to help us, instead help the person she grab the chart for. 3) she could have told us , she get someone to help us or just help us really quick. 4) the way her staff handle the issue was rude. I explain that you don't ignore or not help the patient/customer who is standing in front of you. Manager understood why I was upset, but did not give me assurance that it won't happen again. I'm sorry this was sooo long, but I feel that I did to let people know. The customer service is bad and the communication. Also, I forgot to let the manager know, the cashier response was rude. Good customer service is: --Never disagree with the patient/customer --Never make an excuse, like, "I just check in" or "There no reason to get upset" My staff would have been written up, if they address and patient or customer like this. --You should ALWAY apologize and try to make the situation better by offering to help, which this did not happen. I've been coming to Linden for seven years now and not once have I had an issue. Last week I had called for my glasses because it had been exactly two weeks and I hadn't received a call that they were ready yet. I wanted to know the status of my glasses because YA GIRL CANT SEE. The lady told me that they were ready. So I went to pick them up and i got my SKU and sat down. Mind you, i have to pick up my sister from school in an hour and theres no one else here so I'm thinking I'll be in and out. MMMM not exactly. I waited 30 minutes and the man asked me "Are you sure they're ready?" FIRST OF ALL, you guys told me they're ready. I'm going based off of what you guys told me. Then I asked how much longer it would take because I had somewhere to be and it was becoming ridiculously irritating. Finally after waiting forever, they found them. Why are they so unorganized? THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST PART. It came to the adjustment part of the framing and they felt perfect after the first adjustment and the man helping me said "no they need to be adjusted more" and i said no, they're fine. AND HE STILL ADJUSTED THEM. Im stupid for taking them off but what did he not understand when i said they were perfect? He made them WAAAAY tight afterwards and it this point i was pissed. I left with tight glasses because I didn't have time for this foolery anymore. Luckily I've had glasses most of my life and i know how to adjust these frames myself. These people keep you hostage once you go in for help. Eyeglasses seem To be a business only here, and helping people - like a doctor's visit should feel - seems the least of their priorities. My partner has been trying to get his prescription from them so he can go to another optometrist instead. It's taken days! They won't email it, they won't fax it and when we drove in to get a hard copy they let us wait for ages. When I had my first eye exam the doctor prescribed me glasses that are so strong I get dizzy wearing them - hence have never done so. - but I was 270.00 lighter. I highly recommend to pick a small optometrist instead where the patient is priority and not the business. read more
