This office accepted RED CROSS FUNDS meant to replace glasses lost in the January 2025 wildfires, yet filled my family's prescriptions incorrectly. They promised to fix the mistake, but it has now been over a year with no resolution. Despite multiple calls and emails to Dr. Goldstone and management, nothing has been done. Everyone here is AMAZING and test was quick but thorough. Dr. Thai was so informative and warm spirited, the front desk workers Bianca and Mario were very helpful and sweet. Made me feel comfortable in a situation I would normally feel uncomfortable. Elisa helped fit my glasses that I got FOR FREE with my eye exam. I'm not complaining about the new office or staff because I haven't used them. They are not covered in my insurance VSP even though they said they accepted. Summer 2024 Public Service Announcement: Dr Korth is no longer affiliated with this office; he sold the business and retired. Fantastic doctor, gentleman, and practice. My experience during the transition was of an office moving from long-term personalized care to a corporate clinic model. Professionalism has dropped, especially in the eyeglass area. Right now, there is no one doctor who is there every day, so the clinic feel seems to be correct. I don't like clinics and, thankfully, I have a choice in my care. I haven't seen the new doctors, but it's important that you read the reviews knowing that the solid history of 5 stars is from Dr Korth's tenure. read more

Total Vision now runs this location as Dr. Korth retired. He was an excellent doctor and ran a great office. I actually looked forward to yearly visits. Unfortunately, the new team immediately ruined the great service this practice was known for. My new doctor was very nice, but was running inexcusably behind schedule as they seem to overbook appointments. The big problem is the new staff that seriously lacks communication and organizational skills. They now try to sell customers on a myriad of "extras" that I didn't want and had to politely decline -- twice. They took my order but couldn't even estimate when it would be ready. Very hard to get anyone to answer the phone or return an email when weeks went by. The phone system goes right to voicemail. There are many other options in Pasadena... regretfully I am moving elsewhere. Sort by most recent reviews and you will see lots of problems here. read more

Hadn't been there since Dr. Korth retired - and am SO sorry I did. I've been wearing glasses for over 50 years and never had an experience like this. I went in for the exam, picked out glasses, went to pick them up and immediately knew they weren't right, they said wear them for a couple of days and see if it gets better - nope, so I had to go in for another exam, they changed the lenses on the glasses but when I went to pick them up they were still not right. After visiting their office 4 times for 1 pair of very expensive glasses (that I can't use) I could have saved the time and gas it took and just flushed that money down the toilet. Disappointing doesn't even cover my opinion of them. read more

I saw Dr Korth for many years and was sad when he retired. I tried to continue with the company who purchased his practice, Total Vision, but have not been happy with the service. The doctor I saw for my yearly check up changed my prescription so I had to have all of my assorted glasses lenses and contacts changed. I also got a pair of computer glasses. The cost was substantial. After a month of headaches and strained vision I returned for a recheck with another doctor. She discovered that my prescription did not need to be changed and that the prescription that Dr Korth gave me in 2022 was fine. So... I had to have all my lenses replaced again and get a new set of contact lenses with the same prescription as the original set. After many weeks - months of waiting I finally received my contacts and glasses. 1 of the prescriptions was filled incorrectly so after another 3+ weeks of waiting for my glasses and several calls to see if they had arrived I stopped in and there they were, no call, email or text to let me know that they were there. The computer glasses are useless and strain my eyes. I would avoid this eye clinic. My experience is not an isolated incident. Many of my friends have had similar bad experiences and will not be returning. As for a refund on the original change of lenses and contacts forget it. They don't give refunds! I could get a credit but since I will never go back that would be a waste. Do yourself a favor find another eye doctor! read more

Charles Korth was an exceptional professional that I went to for my eye care for over 20 years. Unfortunately, he retired and sold his practice to Total Vision. Total Amateurs is more like it. I gave them a shot in 2024 and received the worst service and care. My appointment with the "OD" there was pitiful. He spent about 10 mins on me with a quick eye exam and told me my vision had changed and I needed new glasses. Fine, I had my own Tom Ford frames so all they had to do was send them to the lab with the new prescription . Two or three weeks later my glasses were in. I tried them on and my vision was impaired because the lenses did not have the prism Korth always added to my prescription. It turned out the "OD" forgot to add the prism to my prescription! They had to go back to the lab with the corrected prescription. 2-3 weeks later the new glasses came in and they were fine. 3 weeks later, I tripped and fell on my face and my lenses were scratched so because I had a 1 year warranty, they sent out the frame for the replacement levels. They said it would take 2-3 weeks later, Late, I called every week asking when my new glasses were coming in. 6 weeks later, I was told the lab were having issues and they even said they broke my $700 Tom Ford metal frames . Total Vision said they will replace the frames but with much cheaper ones. Then two weeks later the glasses came in. The lab said they replaced the same frames. This took two months ! I paid $1000. just for the lenses. I have VSP insurance but they didn't bother to inform me they are no longer in the network, Later, I realized the lenses were "off" Fed up, so went directly to a lab and had new lenses made for $400. Inept front office personnel that lied to me. Stay away! read more

If there was a zero star I would give it to them. Took my mom to get her glasses 2-3 months ago and it's still not ready. When I asked the staff they continue to tell me they don't even know when or have an estimated date. The staff there even went as far as saying it's a free pair so it's going to be a while. My mom went there for her glasses to see during work and still is struggling because of this place. I'm a new patient and went to Total Vision because I was seeing new floaters in my right eye, which was very scary! I was easily able to make an appointment online, even on short notice (I scheduled yesterday and had my appointment today). I found the staff professional, efficient, and kind. Dr Emily Thai, in particular, was great! This was the best interaction I've had with a medical provider in years: she answered my questions, respected my eyeball-squeamishness, explained things very well, and it never felt like she was rushing me out. Even better, she called me shortly after my appointment to follow up, saying that she'd thought more about my situation and wanted to change her assessment, saying I should follow up with an ophthalmologist ASAP. She knew how to navigate my Kaiser medical insurance and got me the info I needed for a referral within an hour. I really feel like she actually cares about her patients and that's so rare! Came back for a eye exam and bought some Salt frames. They are a dupe of my beloved Oliver Peeples but I got so massively overcharged for these frames and lenses. I'm furious that I got ripped off by this place. First, I told them for my first pair of reading glasses that I wanted glass lenses. They assured me they would be. When they came in they were plastic and the cost for an eye exam and a super basic pair of reading glasses was over $600! I was contacted by the manager. They put glass lenses in for me and told me they would adjust the price, which they didn't do. Lied to my face multiple times also. Total Bait and switch and massive rip off. I could have bought Oliver Peeples, thrown the lenses away and put in new lenses for less money than this. Massive rip off. I'm never coming back here. Tell your friends, avoid this place, they will rip you off. So disappointed. read more

Had appoint in one week. Made months ago, they call now to say they don't accept vsp (out of network) ; and never sent letter to notify. Too late to find another place as end of year approaching. After three visits and numerous phone calls, I gave up, told them to cancel my order, after they lied to my face. I'm just trying to get contacts - it's not that hard. I had the eye exam, waited TWO WEEKS for sample lenses, and only got them after I went IN PERSON to check to see if they'd come in. They had. After wearing them for five days I called to order them, and that has been a two-day, four phone call ordeal, and I finally told them to just cancel my order and give me a copy of the Rx. They wrongly told me, "Your credit card didn't go through." I only had about $40,000 credit available on the card! I came home and checked with Citibank, and the charge DID go through, so now I get to waste more time disputing that charge. Avoid these people at all costs. They have no idea how to run a business. Three weeks from the exam and I STILL have no contacts. I'll have my contacts ordered online in two days, for about half the price. read more

Dr. Korth is a great optometrist. Very thorough, knowledgeable, dedicated. This review is about the policies of Total Vision, the network his practice is now part of. I purchased a second pair of glasses - frames and lenses from Dr. Korth's office. For reference, you pay QUITE A PREMIUM for glasses here. The lenses developed cracks at the edges after 6 months. These glasses were not used every day, frequently there were weeks between wearing. I brought the glasses back to Dr. Korth's office and was informed by the office manager, very unapologetically, that it was unfortunate and there is no warranty. Order new lenses. Prior to being part of Total Vision all lenses had a one year warranty. A tremendous disappointment especially since this was an apparent flaw in workmanship. There was no damage to the frame. Why pay a premium for low quality? I will continue to see Dr. Korth for exams although will purchase eyewear somewhere else. read more

I did try an appt with Dr Korth, who has a different manner, and I just didn't feel he gave the same attention and time she did. That coupled with the Total Vision change and the not-so-helpful woman/manager who "helps " with frame selection has made me look for another office. I contacted Dr Korth's office whilst searching for an urgent appointment to replace some lost contact lenses. I was loath to leave my existing optometrist as I had always received great care there and I wascincerned that anywhere without a huge wait to be seen might offer a less thorough service. These fears were totally unfounded, atheist service I received was superb from start to finish. Renee was super helpful and quickly registered me over the telephone and arranged me an appointment with Dr Noritake for the next day. She found my insurance quickly, and then helped me with the remaining paperwork when I arrived. That standard was maintained both by the doctor herself - who could not have been more thorough or more friendly - and also the staff who conducted my pre-appointment tests. I opted to pay the extra $36 for a digital image of my eyes to be recorded and checked, and Dr Noritake took extra time to explain everything that they showed. I highly recommend this place both for their service and for their level of care. read more

Since I have high prescription, I had tons of questions and concerns, and Dr. Noritake answered each question in detail with absolute patience.
