I finally made the switch! I moved my eye doctor from the South Bay where I lived for many years and was quite happy to my new digs in the SGV. And I have to say, I"m happy I did. Dr. Korth is super cool. He is nice, personable, and cares about your eye health. I wear contacts and glasses and he gave me some excellent suggestions about the care of my long term eye sight. He even explained why I was still seeing rings around lights at night (damn astigmatism-boo hiss!). Dr. Korth's office is very nice and clean. HIs staff is friendly. He takes VSP. If I can give this optometry office 100 stars, I would. This office is beyond perfect. I had an eye exam performed by Dr. Noritake, who is extremely sweet and professional. Since I have high prescription, I had tons of questions and concerns, and Dr. Noritake answered each question in detail with absolute patience. Same as all other staffs I met, everyone in this office is so knowledgeable and friendly. I had an appointment at 9:45 am, and it was 11:25 am when I walked back to my car. Dr. Korth takes care of my Dad's eyes, so when I decided I wanted to look into possibly getting reading glasses to ease the eye strain and headaches that follow study sessions and longer periods on the computer for work and school. He was really helpful, and my reading glasses are comfortable, stylish, and were VERY affordable. He is really nice, as is the staff. I am appalled by the unprofessional behavior exhibited by Dr. Vazagov and office staff, Donny, Elsie and Bianca. I had heard good things about Dr. Korth's office, and sadly, that is just not the case. I have been a patient at this office for years. After suffering through terrible optometrists in my beginning LA years, I finally landed on Dr Korth's office in Pasadena around 2018. Dr. Alison Noritake was my first doctor, and she was phenomenal! Then when I showed up for an appt in 2021, I found out she left for a new practice and was placed with another doctor that was also great. Then a year later, there was ANOTHER change, which again I only found out when I showed up to my appt. This time I was with a doctor who showed up there once every blue moon. He treated me like a brand new patient, thinking my prescription might need a total change... smh this was a terrible appt and has made me rethink coming here. As a side, the women who manage the glasses section and the nurses are beyond friendly and will make sure you are taken care of. They are the ones who keep this place afloat, and I tip my cap to them. Otherwise, this place needs to learn how to retain doctors. No one wants to show up finding out they have a new doctor EVERY year. read more

I saw Dr. Noritake for the first time in September for a contact lens exam, and was very impressed! Her exam was thorough and she has such a warm personality. I even received a thank you card from her a couple weeks later, which was a super cute touch. I had such a great experience that I recommended this place to my family, who also had positive experiences here. If I could make a couple suggestions: (1) I would send an order confirmation and tracking number, if possible, when a patient orders contact lenses. I had to call to check on my order when it hadn't arrived after 2 weeks. (2) I would give the front desk staff extra training on ordering contacts. The process took a long time - over 15 minutes - and I even had to correct her when she started ordering the wrong ones. read more

I visited Dr. Korth's office for the first time on Wednesday, July 6th for a 5pm appointment for a routine eye exam. I found Dr. Korth on Yelp, after confirming that he was in the directory for my insurance plan. The office is located in a convenient area of Pasadena and the office is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The people were so friendly. From the receptionist (in fact multiple people at the front desk), to the physician's assistant, to the lady who was helping someone else with there glasses in the lobby, to Dr. Korth himself. I was given a routine but comprehensive eye exam. The doctor spent about 20 minutes with me personally and he dispensed some very valuable information and told me a lot -- not only about my vision -- but about my general eye health and wellness. I was given the option to purchase an additional premium service for $38.00, to have a more advanced machine take pictures of my eyes. I did opt in for this, since I have never had it done before. The doctor showed me the pictures and they really helped him explain to me precisely through those pictures about the overall health of my eyes. I don't have any experience from the point of view of actually obtaining glasses or contacts, because luckily my vision is still pretty darn good. However, I was just very impressed about the personal attention that I received from this office. I will most definitely return next year for my next eye exam. read more

This review has been due for a long time. Dr. Korth and Dr. Noritake have taken fantastic optometrists. What sets them apart is the high degree of care that they both provide. I can provide a personal anecdote to the quality of care that a patient will receive. I was noticing some fluttering spots in my vision and as a precaution, Dr. Korth always told me to come in immediately. I called the office and the staff - Laura and Chanel squeezed me in with Dr. Noritake. Dr. Noritake did a phenomenal & detailed examination of my eye. She found a very small but dangerous retina hole. She followed up and performed her due diligence even after a first set of scans that yielded nothing. After a second set and personally examining my eye, she found the retina hole that was causing the vision issues. After finding the retina hole, Dr. Noritake had Laura, another superhero, schedule a follow up with a retina specialist on the same day to fix the hole. Laura was able to get me in and treated the same day. Not my words, but the retina specialist spoke highly of Dr. Noritake's examination stating, "that was a very small retina hole and it was so hidden that a hole like that is very hard to find." I'm grateful for Dr. Noritake's passion, due diligence, and detailed review, as well as Dr. Korth, Laura, Chanel, and the rest of the staff. The customer service is beyond extraordinary, where follow up calls from Dr. Noritake or Dr. Korth are common. The one takeaway from this review is that this an optometrist office that really cares and evokes that familial feeling. read more

Fast forward 5 years and simply put, this office has gone completely down hill and I feel compelled to share my horrific experience in hopes of saving others later. I moved to South Pasadena just a year ago so I had to look for a new optometrist, which was not an easy task. I first went to South Pasadena Eye Care on Fair Oaks because it was convenient and was down the street from my house. I was disappointed because of their customer service and was difficult to get an appointment because the doctor wasn't always there. I remember driving by Dr. Korth's office many times and finally made an appointment. Making an appointment online was convenient and easy. On the day of my appointment, I was greeted by Laura! I was quite impressed of how attentive she was from beginning until the end of my appointment. I was seen by Dr. Noritake and was astonished with her detailed and nurturing character. Eventhough it took awhile for me to find a good match for my daily contact lenses, Dr. Noritake and Laura was beyond accommodating! I have really dry and sensitive eyes...therefore it probably took several samples of contact lenses before I finally found the one that suit me. A couple of weeks later, I received a thank you card from Dr. Noritake! WOW! Call me old fashioned...I was impressed by the gesture and thoughtfulness! I'm glad I came to Dr. Korth for my eye care needs! The whole staff is warm and professional! The whole staff is the definition of an excellent customer service! I cannot believe I am saying this - but I had the best experience at the Eye Doctor yesterday! From start to finish! I had minor eye trauma but you never know and I hoped someone could see me soon. The person who received my call was so helpful and arranged for me to get in same day. Then, due to my insurance being in limbo due to Cobra, some lovely woman named Lisa worked with me all morning it seemed to unravel that mess. Very patient and knowledgeable. Then, I arrive at the perfectly convenient location (easy access, easy parking, plenty of things to do around the location if you have a dropper offer). I will admit, I have postponed medical visits due to COVID - but this location has it down. They open and close the door for you. The site is clean and spacious. There was one other person there at the time and they seated us at opposite ends of the space. There were some aesthetic devices apparently tending to air quality. And then I met Dr. Noritake! She was amazing. Soooo knowledgeable and understanding. Soooo on time and efficient! I didn't even have time to fill out the paperwork and I was in and out. (I stayed to fill it out and it was not the usual over the top medical/legal packet). Just an amazing, efficient, competent, professional team! I will be back! read more

I've been going to Dr Korth for years now. Dr Korth and his team are excellent at what they do and provide great customer service. The facility is very nice, always spotless. Overall going there is a very pleasant and relaxing experience. I'm finally getting around to writing a review because they went above and beyond today by seeing me as a walk in for an eye infection. Dr Korth had the antibiotics I needed on hand and even sent me home with a pair of contacts, solution and case since I'll have to throw out my current pair. Dr. Charles Korth and his staff are great!! Everyone was friendly and very helpful! I went in two years ago when I moved to Pasadena and left SUPER happy with the level of service I received. Much better than my previous Optometrist in Irvine. Dr. Korth was genuine, he listened my the complaints I had with the comfort of my contact lenses and he found the just the right brand and type for optimal comfort and clear vision. I also went with a pair of glasses and the lady helping me was fantastic! She sat with me for at least 30 minutes just trying on different frames. Everyone has a unique facial structure and all frames do not fit all. She picked out plenty of frames that all looked great on my unique face. I ended up going with a more expensive pair of Lafont frames (French made most optometrists prolly won't carry these) - These frames I can keep for a long time and won't go out of style. They have many other great selections of frames as well. As you've probably guessed, Dr. Korth has been my Optometrist ever since and will be for as long time. I strongly recommend. read more

I have been going to Dr. Korth for roughly 4 years now. I fortunately discovered his office because I visit the credit union next to his office. Dr. Korth is a wonderful doctor. Very patient, thoughtful, gentle, very easy to talk to and has a great sense of humor while understanding of my apprehensiveness around certain procedures. He has been in practice here for many years and it feels he has kept the same staff for years as well. I *think* his wife serves as the office manager as well, she too is very nice when I spoke with her over the phone to schedule appointments and answered my questions. His staff is wonderful as well. I only visit their offices once or twice a year, but everyone seems to always remember my name. Very impressive especially on occasions when I didn't have an appointment! Gigi on his staff is awesome as well. She serves as the one who helps me select new frames and helps me understand what my insurance covers vs. what is needed out of pocket. She's very patient as well and remembers my preferences. They are also always happy to help with my adjustments of my frames whenever they go wacky on me after sleeping with them on or when the frames bend. They adjust at no costs and I usually just drop by without notice. His hours generally are tough if you have a normal work schedule. They open at 8:30am and take about a 1.5 lunch break where the office closes. Tough if you're looking to get an exam during your lunch break. They only are open one Saturday a month on appointment basis only. However, Dr. Korth has been helpful and flexible allowing me to schedule an exam as early as 8am on a weekday to accommodate my work schedule. And they are helpful in staying open a bit later when I called ahead to tell them I was on my way to pick up my glasses. Highly recommend Dr. Korth and his staff. I even converted my wife as a client, even though she loved her previous optometrist. read more

I got a prescription from a different doctor, but wanted to buy my glasses from Kr. Korth b/c of his selection (and my regular doctor got his glass there and recommended him). I dropped off my prescription, ordered and paid for a pair of glasses (which ultimately set me back $1100), and told them I absolutely needed them by the following Friday because I had a trial starting Monday and I was having trouble reading. They said they would have them to me by Friday. Come Friday, no glasses. Crap. The company that crafts the lenses didn't finish preparing the glasses until 10:00 pm Friday. Dr. Korth's team called me and said they would find a way to get them to me Saturday, or, if necessary, bring them to me in Court on Monday. On Saturday morning, one of their employees drove to the valley, picked up my glasses, brought them back to Pasadena, and they called and said they were ready. I got my glasses in time, I got a nice hand-written note from Dr. Korth, and despite the glasses being so darn expensive, I'm happy with them (you get what you pay for). I had an excellent eye exam and contact fitting with Dr. Noritake. She was super nice, professional, and did the exam quickly and efficiently without making me feel like I was being rushed out of the office. She really took the time to figure out what the best prescription would be for me and talked me through things she was concerned about and wanted to keep an *eye* on in the future. She even had me come in for a follow up just to make sure that I didn't have any complaints about my contacts before committing to a years supply, which was really helpful because you just can't tell if you'll like your contacts in the 5-10 minutes you're in the office (and especially so because we ended up adjusting the prescription a little). I also loved the fact that they gave me two sets of 5-day sample pack of daily contacts (one to see how I liked them, and one to tide me over until my order came in). I told them I only wanted contacts, so it was really nice that they didn't try to sell me glasses or push me to buy things I didn't want or need. I am so happy to have found Dr. Korth! I had a new patient appointment with him this week and it was so good. His office is located in a lot with plenty of parking so I was glad to not have to struggle for a spot. When I got there his office was extremely friendly and got started with my appointment right away. After filling out some paperwork Dr. Korth came in and did what I felt, was a detailed eye exam. We had a long talk about contacts and glasses and he didn't let me leave until I understood all my choices. He also supplied with plenty of samples to try for contacts =) Not only was he professional, but Dr. Korth was super friendly. We were chatting throughout my appointment and he definitely made me feel comfortable about any questions or inquiries. I also liked the fact that he took a look at my insurance benefits to see what they covered in order to find a good pair of glasses that didn't break the bank. He also gave me a discount on the part that I was responsible for paying which I appreciate. Then one of his assistants helped me pick out some glasses. These girls were so nice it almost felt like I was shopping with a pair of friends. They were honest about which pairs looked good and I am very satisfied with my choice. I'm new to this country and need an optometrist to take care of my prescription and prep me for LASIK. Dr Korth is in my hood and I can basically walk to his office. Dr. Korth is very nice, personable, and caring. I have never had a doctor call me personally and Dr. Korth is one of the very first doctors who calls his patients himself. I feel that he really cares about his patients and I'm not just another client. He also makes the phone calls to the VSP himself to try to figure out how I can use my VSP benefit for LASIK. I only had one appointment so far, but I can't imagine not sticking with Dr. Korth for a while. I broke my glasses and was in a pinch. Dr. Korth opened his doors a half hour early because his day was totally booked. I was a new patient too. That was my first clue that man was a Dcotor that cared and wanted to help! He gave me a very thorough exam...listening, asking questions, and being completely attentive. Even when I was getting an exam in the next room, he stopped in to make sure things were going well. I am a new patient and my first visit was today 07/11/18. Dr. Noritake was extremely thorough during my vision exam and gave detailed answers to my many questions. Dr. Noritake is amazing! After my exam Renee Korth, Dr Korth's wife, helped me select a frame and she honestly went above and beyond! Renee literally, no exaggeration, pulled half the frames in the office for me to try on and she was as dedicated as I was to finding a frame I loved. I also met Dr Korth and he is just as wonderful as his entire staff. To new customers that have a Healthcare Reimbursement Account (HRA) please note Dr. Korth's office emailed me an itemized receipt showing what my vision insurance covered vs my out of pocket cost. Normally this takes weeks to get from a provider but in less than 30mins after my visit I was able to upload my itemized receipt to my Healthcare Fund and was automatically reimbursed my entire out of pocket cost of my visit. I am attempting to only do business with small businesses and especially as it pertains to healthcare, I normally go to Lencrafters for eye exams and glasses but the last time around my prescription was too strong and the sales person only cared about upselling me, I felt more a commodity then a person, so after much searching I found Dr. Korth`s office, he gave me the most through eye exam I have ever had in my life and was interested in my health overall, I highly recommend him and his practice. read more

Dr Korth has been my eye doctor for over 12 years. He is knowledgeable, professional and so kind! His wife and staff are all incredibly nice and helpful. I'm always happy with my prescription and they have a great selection of designer frames. The ladies that work there are very sweet and always adjust my glasses, even when I haven't noticed they needed adjustment. The office is clean and recently remodeled, they have a few toys to keep my little ones busy and are always helpful if I have them with me. My oldest son (11) now uses glasses and they have helped me with a few accidents he has had (boys!). I will never go to any other eye doctor. Even after moving, I drive far to see him. Dr. Noritake and Office are some of the most professional and kind optometrists I've been to. The office visit was very quick and efficient. A very thorough appointment made me feel confident about the optometrist's opinion. They even offered an additional machine eye scan to ensure that I had no additional eye issues in the back of my eye.
