It's funny the path that life takes us sometimes. A while back I saw a video on social media of someone in New York showing off their watch, but I was focused on their glasses, which I found out was a small manufacturer out of Japan. Not sure that they would be easy to procure, I did some research and found out about AccessorEyes, a boutique glasses shop and optometrist office in Pasadena, and I am so happy I did. With AccessorEyes, every interaction and step in the process from beginning to end has been a master class lesson in customer service that other shops should learn from. Like I alluded to earlier, I was interested in a very specific designer, and I scheduled an appointment to come in. I showed Sam, one of the owners, the frames I was interested in, and he took me through all of the designers they work with, and frames that I might be interested in. There were very interesting frames, but I wanted to go with the specific designer. Sam then takes out the catalogue and we go through each set of frames in the book, and I choose out my pair. Something that is great about AccessorEyes is that they work very closely with these small manufacturers and designers. They have a close relationship with all of them, and they get amazing and unique frames! With the frames I alluded to earlier, AccessorEyes made a custom order as they didn't have them in the actual store. After I chose out my frames, I got my lens prescription updated by Dr. Mehrabyan, the other owner, who was thorough, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. They really focus on the customer at AccessorEyes, and took the time to get my prescription right. She showed me the scans of the eyes, going over what I was looking at. There even was a virtual model of the shape of my eyes if I recall correctly. I've never had someone spend as much time on an eye exam until now. My glasses arrived today, and I couldn't be happier. Before coming to AccessorEyes, I've never been fully happy with an Optometrist office before. Sure I got the glasses I was interested in, but the experience was more of a transaction than a personal experience. Sam and Dr. Mehrabyan flipped my world view on what the experience of getting new glasses SHOULD be, and I couldn't be more grateful. I stumbled upon Accessoreyes Optometry years ago after my old optometrist retired. At the time I didn't know how lucky I was getting but wow, let me tell you what a blessing it's been. When I was younger, I did not pay much attention to my eye doctor visits. I just wanted my prescription so I could order my contacts and it seemed like my eye doctors felt the same. Get me and out fast. Now that I'm in my 40s, I've learned the value of eye health. Dr Mehrabyan was very thorough in her exam, understanding my eye and overall health history, and answering all my questions and concerns. I've been suffering from dry eye since 2020 and stopped wearing contact lenses because of it. My previous optometrist, who I'd been seeing for years, told me there's nothing I can do except use artificial tears and maybe fish oil supplements will help. However, Dr Mehrabyan gave me specific recommendations on managing my dry eye and is helping me try a different brand of contacts. I took my teenage daughter in for her first contact lens exam here. Dr. Mehrabyan was very thorough in her exam and noticed something about my daughter's eye that no one had mentioned before. She consulted with me and we decided she needed to take a better look at my daughter's eye with a sophisticated imaging machine. Sometimes this might feel like they are trying to up-sell you things you don't need, but I never felt that way with Dr. Mehrabyan. I was grateful and even though my daughter's eye is normal and healthy, I'm glad we took a better look because it is something we will need to track and compare in the future. Scheduled an appointment with Dr. Elda after getting a referral from one of my colleagues, I could not have had a better experience. I have had problems with seeing at night for the last few years and thought about going to get my eyes checked but didn't have anywhere to go. She was actually the one who answered the phone, she was polite, friendly, and helped me get an appt the same week. I have had laser eye surgery in the past (about 12 years ago) and I was a little anxious as to what my options were. I was called several times by Accessoreyes soliciting my business. They had my number from a previous study I had participated in at her office. I asked them first to check my insurance to see if I was covered for services at their office and was told I was. I went in for an exam. There were out-of-pocket expenses at the end of the visit and I was told I would be reimbursed when insurance paid. I asked for my paper prescription after the exam and was told I would need to come back for it, and needed another appointment(?). So I made one. When I went back, I asked why it took 2 appointments to get my prescription. Apparently the second visit was to fit glasses. When I was given my prescription, it was not for the monovision of my current glasses (which I was told were inferior quality) nor the prescription I had initially requested. I was told they would take care of the prescription adjustment when I was fit for my glasses (huh? I've never herd of this before). When I said I wanted an accurate prescription that could be turned into anyone to be filled, indicating I would be getting my glasses elsewhere, the attitude changed and I was told that would be extra work. I have never encountered this before. I finally got my accurate prescription, but it was not without insistence on my part. And there was no insurance adjustment. I was pleased with my previous optometrist and only thought I would try out Acessoreyes because it was within walking distance. I am not going back. read more

My visit was very pleasant, I walked in to the place, with an eye infection that was very painful, from not disposing contact lens case properly, and she got to the bottom of it and did an eye exam and recommended a specialist. I had a complicated case because my insurance would only cover blue-light blocking glasses if they had a prescription on it. I wear contact lenses so only wanted non-prescription glasses to use at work in front of the computer. Dr. Mehrabyan worked with me to add a little bit of plus (magnification) to the lenses. The lenses ended up giving me more headaches that without them so I brought them back. Dr. Mehrabyan took back the glasses and negotiated with the lab to swap them out for a discounted rate. I came here a few months ago, when it was time for another eye exam. I was thrilled for find someone who was professional, polite, easy to be around and really thorough. She was able to fix my prescription which had been wrong for probably 10 years! ( way awesome) I notice a huge difference in how long I can wear my contacts and that my eyes are no longer strained. Also - she diagnosed my eyes as dry and had me try out some eye drops to resolve it. I've been going to eye doctors and getting exams for contacts for over 15 years for my vision and no one has been this thorough and helpful.
