Fritter toast! No syrup needed.
Julia B.

We took the opportunity to grab breakfast on a Friday morning, since my husband and I were both off work. We figured most places would be busier because it was the day after New Year's Day. We waited just under 15 minutes to be seated. The staff did the best they could to accommodate each party that came in, while moving through the line to fill tables quickly. I will say the café is on the tighter side. The booths are small, and the tables...well, they're kinda on top of each other. A couple who frequents the café recommended we try the "Fritter Toast". It comes in three flavors. We ordered the blueberry and let me tell you, KNOCK OUT! I wish I had only ordered that! I did order a breakfast special and it was okay. Nothing out of the ordinary for a breakfast joint. The food came relatively quickly and the portion size was big! Especially the pancakes. I will say, and other reviewers say the same, if you're looking for a small town feel, with friendly staff, Lindas' has some work to do. We didn't feel welcomed. Some of the staff were down right crabby and standoffish. If we don't go back, I won't be sad. But, I will need to figure out a way to get my hands on the fritter toast.

Busy (be prepared to wait approx. 20 minutes for a table depending on your party size, but worth the wait) little Classic Mom & Pop Cafe. Old school big skillets, HUGE pancakes, strongest coffee on the planet, haha. You can even buy things like bird feeders, pot holders and more too. I ordered the Country Fried Steak which was a big portion, seasoned perfectly with freshly made gravy, I asked for "crispy" hash-browns and got crispy hash-browns. . I tried the cranberry wild rice bread which was delicious. My over easy eggs cooked perfectly too. Great to see a Classic Cafe still going strong. Only input to improve is updating the cushions in the booths. Follow me for more reviews. @JDMinneapolis

Solid breakfast. The place was rocking busy and it wasnt even 8:00 am on a Saturday. Biscuits and gravy were delicious. North star omelette was good though I didn't realize it doesn't come with cheese automatically so will ask to include next time. Ham and cheese omelette was good as well. American fries were cooked good. Portions were the perfect size. Very reasonably priced as well.

Nothing special. Googled breakfast food nearby and this café came up. Linda herself is not friendly -at all - but a majority of the rest of the staff are. First come first served, we waited about 15 minutes for a table as there were 10 people in front of us. Breakfast burrito was filled with meat but the grease could have been drained. I had to eat with a fork and knife. Pancakes are as big as your head and come with sausage bacon and eggs. For not being a pancake person I enjoyed the few bites I stole from my son. Coffee was good, not strong but not bitter. Overall a decent meal but nothing memorable. The group next to us had their order messed up and then found a hair in it when it finally arrived. That, coupled with Linda's grumpiness is reason enough not to make a special trip to dine here.

What in the world is Broasted chicken?! Well, if you want to try the best fried chicken on this side of heaven, you must stop at Linda's cafe and order their broasted chicken platter. It was delicious! My husband was generous enough to let me have a bite. I ordered their breakfast skillet and it hit the spot. It gets really busy here and there is a bit of a wait but it is well worth it. I highly recommend trying this place out.

Came here with recommendations from locals. They weren't wrong. There's a wait because it's good!!! Be prepared with your whole party to be seated. Fair because the place is small and they're trying to serve everyone. Idk ‍ what the person is talking about "not friendly staff" because everyone was wonderful. Our server was friendly and helpful. We had a party of 11 and everyone loved their food. I loved my stuffed French toast sandwich, almost like a Monte Cristo but better! Give them a try.

Such a cute cafe with so many goods to purchase! The waitress we had was very polite and kind! I ordered the chicken tenders basket with ranch and loved it all very comforting. I ordered the caramel roll which came very hot and soft and so delicious!!

OMG! BEST FOOD EVER. I went on a Friday and they had Country Fried Steak and it was with hashbrowns and for the appetizers we had loaded chili cheese fries and that were amazing. Their broasted chicken was phenomenal and the potato salad was extraordinarily good. I would give then 20 stars if I could but they do not give you that option. They were honestly the greatest restaurant I've ever been too. The waitress and owner are really nice and it is so clean and so cabinesque feeling. I would love to go back there and I highly recommend this amazing restaurant and tip them highly. They were hands down, the best I've ever been to. Thanks for such and amazing experience and I am definitely coming back for more. The price is so good and affordable so super excited to share this experience

Fast quality food, especially breakfast. There's often a wait, but people are seated quickly. Enjoyed our breakfast very much. Highly recommend.

Otsego really needed a local brewery and Ripple Effect knocked it out of the park!…read more Confession, I still haven't tried their beer after visiting a dozen times or more, but it's only because their flavored seltzers are always on point! Great use of space with ample seating. They always bring local entertainment, have a rotation of awesome food trucks, TVs showing local/national sports, and plenty of board games to keep you entertained. Be prepared for rotating/seasonal options, but please go check them out. They've done a wonderful job at repurposing the old Hardee's building.

There's a fair amount of inside seating. They have board games, TVs for sports, and rotating food trucks/live shows. The first time we sat inside, played Guess Who?, and watched the Gopher game. It was relatively quiet and we could easily have a conversation. The second time, there was live music, the place was full of people, and it was loud (for good reason!). We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the fall air. There was enough noise from the road to make it so we weren't invading other conversations but quiet enough to enjoy our own. We've really enjoyed the seltzers! You can choose up to two flavors with the Little Ripple. We love the Pear/Mango combination. The Won't Let Go is a higher ABV, but you can't go wrong with a piña colada flavor. We're waiting for them to offer Growlers/Crowlers for the seltzers!

Every year around Darkness Days, Short or Tall Eatery gets hooked up with a bunch of Surly Darkness…read morekegs. Think vintage Darkness, all the variants, and even some barrel aged versions. If I get a chance, its fun to go try some of the older variants and vintages of Darkness to see how they old up. It helps as well that Short or Tall does flights! I enjoyed five different pours of Darkness: Gimme S'More Darkness (2021): An Imperial Stout, Darkness, aged on Vanilla and Cinnamon aged in Bourbon Barrels reminiscent of a liquid s'more. Darkness (2016): An Imperial Stout aged for nearly ten years. A little thin bodied, which occurs over time, and a ton of sherry notes. Darkness (2025) Barrel-Aged: An Imperial Stout aged in Elijah Craig Bourbon Barrels and Creative Oak French Oak. The OG version of this year's BA Darkness. Chocolate Limoncello Darkness (2024): An Imperial Stout with Cacao and Lemon Puree hitting French Oak for a while as well. This is a weird one for sure. Vietnamese Coffee Darkness (2020): An Imperial Stout, Darkness, infused with Organic Robusta and Arabica Coffees from UP Coffee Roasters (local to MN), Vanilla Beans, and Coconut. It was aged in Rum Barrels. This one is an absolute delight and my first time trying it! My favorite of the flight. _____
