Nothing better on a HOT day than a refreshing Dole Whip. This shop is right on George Street with tables in the courtyard behind the stand. Use the coupon in the old town trolley book for a bogo that makes it reasonably priced!

If you love getting Dole Whip at Disney, you need to stop here and get your fix. It was such a happy surprise when I stumbled upon this place.

Ice cream aka life's simple and instant pleasures. But this is Dole Whip, it's way better. If you're in Saint Augustine and walking around St George or historic district , then it's a must you stop along the way and treat yourself to a soft serve at Likit Dole Whip. You got to catch this place at the right time because there's normally a line but the line goes fast. The staff that served us where fast and knowledgeable, which made it easy to place an order. A perfect treat on a hot summer day or any hot day.

My wife likes to stop at Likit to order and enjoy some soft serve any time we are in St. Augustine. I missed out on the soft serve since I thought it was too cold, rainy, and windy for it. This time I went for some soft serve and was happy with what I ordered. Located on St. George's, Likit has a simple menu when it comes to soft serve with chocolate, vanilla, pineapple, and another flavor I can't remember for good measure. While they don't offer a swirl of two flavors, they do stack them if you are so inclined. The chocolate and pineapple was quite good on a cone. They advertise the soft serve as gluten free, cholesterol free, and some other frees. Obviously, price wise, it's not free, but it's very good.

Another local spot I've passed a million times while visiting St Augustine but never tried. Likit Dole Whip always has a long line, but we got lucky and walked right up to order. This is not a standalone store it is more of a hut. There were two windows, one for ordering and one for pickup. We were served with a smile and received our orders in just a few minutes. They were out of a lot of flavors as it was about 8:30 PM. The available flavors were vanilla and pineapple so I chose both in a cup. I felt the pineapple by itself would be too much and vanilla by itself was boring. But together they made a perfect pair! And I was right I needed both to compliment one another. The pineapple was bursting with flavor and the vanilla helped tone it down. Both were creamy and hit the spot after walking around for a few hours. I look forward to coming back so I can try some other flavors!

So rumor has it that there's a place in St. Augustine that sells a dessert that many people go nuts for (including myself) at a certain famous theme park. You're probably wondering what dessert I'm referring to. I'm referring to the magical Dole Whip. If you don't know what a Dole Whip is, it's a frozen pineapple dessert. It looks almost like pineapple sorbet soft serve. I always get this dessert when I'm at the said theme park and have yet to find it anywhere else. I also tried to recreate it one time, let's just say, leave the actual Dole Whip to the pros. Anyway I had heard rumblings that a little shop in St. Augustine had Dole Whips, but never actually saw anyone have it, so I wasn't sure if this was just a rumor. I was in St. Augustine walking around and decided before I left I had to get a Dole Whip. I walked down St. George Street looking for the Likit shop. I found it right before the cut through to the fort. There were a few people there, I got up to the window, and ordered a large, when in Rome/St. Augustine, right? I was NOT expecting the large to be so large. It was ginormous and immediately felt a bit of guilt for getting such a large portion (not because i wasn't going to eat it, but because it was over 90 degrees out and pretty sure this entire thing was going to melt on me). I will say, $6 seemed a bit steep for a Dole Whip, but it's also in line for the price of dessert (especially in the area). The girl behind the counter also said I should have gotten the large because they're delicious. I went face first into the Dole Whip...why even bother using a spoon for the top when I have a perfectly good mouth, right? Prior to my first bite, I was thinking is this even going to come close to when I get it at the theme park? Well, I'm here to tell you yes, it does come close and it tastes even better on a super hot day. By the time I was done eating this delightful treat, I had about a quarter cup of liquid. You don't let this liquid gold go to waste. Bottoms up. Pros: -Rival of a famous theme park's Dole Whip -Delicious on a hot day -They have a variety of flavors and you can even order it as a float Cons: -$6 seems a bit expensive Tips: If you're waffling between getting the large or a small, get the large and eat it fast to avoid melting.

With the excessively hot summer weather outside, this spot has the best priced ice cream. It was so yummy and refreshing. The customer service from the young lady was spectacular! She took all the orders, cooked and served everything, and never failed to have a big smile on her face.

I consider myself somewhat of a Disney Nut so when you see a place that has a Dole Whip you take advantage. This pineapple dole whip from Likit looked and tasted exactly the same! That sweet pineapple soft serve with the tangy pineapple juice hit the spot! The service was great too! The girls behind the counter were happy and ready to help. It felt like my order was ready before i even swiped my card! I will 100% stop by every single time i visit St George Street!

The service was quick not much to say about it. The pineapple dole whip was good it just made me extremely thirsty, but the vanilla pineapple swirl was good.

Found a coupon in one of the tourist books for Amelia Island for buy 1 get one free. My mom and I each got one. They are dairy free so the vanilla was a bit odd without dairy but still good!

Stopped here for something sweet after spending the afternoon on St. Augustine Beach with my…read morefamily. This was my first visit to Cone Heads, and I had a very enjoyable experience! Cone Heads is located right on A1A Beach Blvd, just a block off of the beach. It is in a standalone building that is inviting with both colorful signage and plenty of outdoor seating. They also have a drive-thru and a private parking lot. When we visited on a Tuesday in July around 5:30 PM, we had no issue getting a parking spot. There were some other customers enjoying some ice cream, but there was relatively no line when we entered the store. The ordering happens inside, and you walk right into the ice cream cabinets and counter. All of the flavors are displayed and can be seen from the order line. Additionally inside, there are some tables to sit and eat at, along with a restroom. They sell a variety of merchandise along with their food and dessert selection. I liked seeing the community cork-board, where there were a variety of different posters and advertisements for events and services around the area. The menu consisted of traditional ice cream items one would expect - cups, cones, sundaes, banana splits, milkshakes, and more. They also had a Seasonal Special section on the menu, which I assume changes somewhat frequently. This trip, that item was a Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. There are some sundae combinations on the menu, but you can customize your own if you choose. There is hard ice cream, soft serve, and also some hot food options - hot dogs, sausages, and tamales, primarily. For drinks, they had canned soda, bottled, water, and some coffee options. As far as to-go, they had pints and quarts available for the ice cream, along with a freezer full of pre-packaged pints, quarts, and ice cream sandwiches for a grab and go situation. Having never been here before, our group needed some time to look at the menu and flavors before ordering. There were around 30 different flavors of hard ice cream, which included No Sugar Added and Dairy Free varieties, in addition to traditional full dairy varieties. I thought that the flavor selection was a healthy mix of traditional favorites and unique offerings. The staff working were friendly and helpful with answering all of our questions about the flavors. I even got to try a couple samples before making my decision. After much debate, I landed on trying the Donut Ice Cream Sandwich. This was made to order, and I got to choose the ice cream for the filling. I opted for the Kahula Chip for a coffee and donut flavor combination. I did enjoy this treat! The donut was fresh (and from a local spot), and the ice cream complimented it nicely. I thought the price was also fair for the size and specialty of the dessert, at $5.50 before any tax. My dog was waiting patiently in the car, so we ordered him a Doggie Ice Cream. It was a small boat of vanilla soft serve with peanut butter sauce and a Milk Bone. For my magnet collection, I also purchased one of their logo to take home with me. I personally did not pay the bill, but I thought the pricing here was fair and in line with any other similar type of shop. They took both cash and card. This shop is exactly what you would want out of an ice cream shop on the beach - fun, colorful, and local. They incorporate various other local businesses into their products. The theme of the establishment is appropriate for being a block away from the ocean, and there is a lot of color and fun decor to look at around the building. The staff were all pleasant, the product is tasty, and the price is right. Really enjoyed discovering Cone Heads on this trip, and will make sure to stop by again during my future trips to St. Augustine!

One would think there's not much you can do with a grilled cheese sandwich, but the Grilled Cheese Gallery proves that assumption wrong. There are 13 amazing and creative choices of grilled cheese here. Don't like grilled cheese? They also serve salads, poutine, mac & cheese grilled sandwiches, ice cream and other desserts. This is Comfort Food headquarters! There were actually so many choices it was hard to choose. I chose A Night in Amsterdam: Gouda, Gruyere, Swiss, Cheddar, on Artisan White. My wife had The Queen Brie: House cured bacon, French Brie, Raspberry Puree, Balsamic on Sourdough. My Amsterdam was quite a creation: three slices balanced on a pedestal with cheese trailing down more than a foot. It was delicious! My wife lauded her Queen Brie as well. We wish we had more time in Saint Augustine as this place is definitely worth a second visit.

We were…read moretired and a little hangry when we walked in, and thankfully, everyone in the group loved this place! We ordered: the Amsterdam, the Artist, the Queen Brie, and the Classic (2 sandwiches). Three of us upgraded to a small cup of tomato soup (each order comes with a mini cup for dipping). I was the lucky person who ordered the Amsterdam, which, much to our surprise and delight, was served on a hook with melted cheese stretching down to the tray it was served on. Everyone had to take a photo of my sandwich! It contained a variety of cheeses, so while the taste was fairly classic, it was a bit more nuanced than the Classic sandwich, which only had cheddar cheese. Everyone else thought their sandwiches were delicious too. And we all loved the homemade tomato soup! I tend to be a bigger fan of creamy tomato soups, but this one was rich with umami flavor and had a bit of a kick. While this is a counter-service restaurant that's pretty much no-frills, the employees were friendly and helpful. One of them refilled our water cups at the table, even though the pitcher she had was leaking, and I didn't get the sense that they normally did that. Sadly, they don't sell soft serve ice cream any more, but there are so many ice cream shops in this part of St. Augustine that you can easily walk somewhere else for dessert (which we did). The place wasn't crowded on a Friday evening and had lots of menu choices, so if you like grilled cheese sandwiches, whether creative or simple, be sure to stop by the Grilled Cheese Gallery on your visit to St. Augustine!
