Chad and the team at Lighting Republic are top notch. We first approached Chad about setting up landscape lighting as we neared completion of a yard renovation. Throughout the process Chad was clear, flexible, and efficient. His recommendations were great, prices were fair, and the quality of his work top notch. Not only did the project turn out well, but the smart home integration made the difference. Now, we are looking at other projects for inside the house as well as other electrical projects we definitely plan to work with Chad and the Lighting Republic team when it's time! read more

When we first met Chad back in May 2021, we were looking to get some low lighting in the front & back yard. Chad was very knowledgeable as my wife and I did not know much about low lighting. Chad gave us a lot different choices and he recommended Phillips Hue system that gave more variety with colored effects than just white lighting. He came back a few times with ideas until we made a decision. We installed the system in January 2022 and for the first few months the system was great! However a few months later we started getting issues with the cabling and Chad came back out to diagnose the issue and resolved it. Every few months we were having issues with the system which was very disheartening as it was an expensive system and the issue was the cabling and Chad no longer promoted Phillips Hue after our experience. We are still having issues with the system it was usually in the back yard but the past 2 times it has been in the front yard. When I have contacted Chad he has been responsive and I usually have to wait around 2-3 weeks until he was able to come out and fix the problem. In October 2024 we had another issue with some of the lights flickering and sometimes it doesn't switch on. I contacted Chad and it took a couple of texts to get a response saying he would be unavailable for 2 weeks but he would be in touch to come and look at the issue. It's been more than 6 weeks and he hasn't still responded to any of mine or my wife's text or messages, as we were concerned of his well being after silence. He has completely gone silent and it is unlike him not to reply but we have been left stranded and ignored. We would have preferred for him to respond and say no I can't keep coming to fix the issue rather than just to be ignored. We regret putting the Phillips Hue system and wish we just put in white lights and my wife + we feel very disappointed and let down with Chad also considering we gave him some work at our HOA. We are all about helping folks and promoting good work. Chad is a great guy, we are sorry our system is problematic but he charges to come and fix issues, we are disappointed to be left stranded with silence to texts, emails and messages. This is not the way you treat a good customer and we felt he was not happy coming to fix the issues as it was every few months, which is unheard of. We are very disappointed in Phillips Hue. We were not about to change the system again to just simple white lights after spending thousands. We now find someone else to help resolve the issue. We wish Chad would at least support the failures and help us rather than having us restart the process with a new professional. It saddens me to write this review as if you look at my reviews they are always generally positive but this experience is one we needed tor share for awareness. read more

Years ago Chad installed beautiful landscape lighting. We had an issue with our ring bridge and he came the same week and fixed everything. He is pleasant, timely, and the lighting has worked great! Highly recommend. read more

Chad is not only a pro at what he does, but also extremely intelligent. His attention to detail is what really blew me away. It was as if he was working on his own house-- everything HAD to be perfect for him to be satisfied with his work. He was extremely responsive, respectful of our home, always masked, and just a really friendly kind gentleman. If you have any lighting needs, he's your guy. He'll take care of you. read more

Can I give 10 stars??? I could not be happier with the service from lighting republic. They showed up on time, with masks, and ready to work. I needed installation of a huge 200lb chandelier, on a ceiling over 25 feet. I spoke with Chad on FaceTime to give him a visual of the ceiling height, and the specs of the chandelier, and he provided me with a very fair quote within 1 business day. The crew that came out, could not have been more knowledgeable, friendly, or professional if they tried. They safely set up scaffolding, and made sure that my ceiling could hold the weight. Ensured the electricity was working well, secured extra mounting, to be extra cautious ( we live in earthquake central/ southern ca) and hung up the chandelier; based on the height I desired. They then took the time to hang the gazillion crystals that accompany the chandelier, in gloves, avoiding getting them smudged! It was a tedious job, and I can't imagine going with anyone else. If you want to make sure your chandelier is hung top notch, and not going to come down in an earthquake.. go with these guys!! Pricing was very on point ( I called around and got numerous quotes). Will be using them for all my electrical repairs. Thank you again! Wonderful service! read more

We decided to upgrade and expand our front and backyard landscape lighting, and did a Yelp search. Lighting Republic consistently has outstanding reviews, and they are well deserved. Chad responded promptly, listened carefully to our goals and objectives, and provided a detailed proposal which he easily modified following some of our additional input. Design and installation were both fantastic. Following the installation, he requested I text photos to him of several nighttime views of the house, so he could make sure it was exactly what we were looking for. On top of it all, Chad is a pleasure to work with. You can't help but get the impression that he takes great pride in his work, and executes it accordingly. Would absolutely use him again. read more

Chad and John Henry did it again! After updating the pendant lighting above the kitchen island, the old lighting in the living room no longer matched. Purchased a ceiling fan with light kit as a replacement and Lighting Republic gave me a reasonable quote and was out within two days to install. Prior to the start of work, Chad gave me two estimates- one in case the junction box was plastic and needed to be replaced and a second if the junction box was metal. I appreciate knowing the "hidden" costs prior to start of work. Fortunately, the junction box did not need replacing and within two hours of arriving, I had a beautiful new fan in place! Project three coming soon... I would highly recommend Lighting Republic for your projects! read more

Chad is Awesome, great guy to deal with always upbeat and super optimistic (in a great way). I had him do a main panel upgrade and run a 100A subpanel to a detached garage. It looked like a fairly straight forward project. It turned out to be an incredibly difficult undertaking. Turns out under a bunch of the dirt for the trench there was concrete. The spot we wanted to put the panel was concrete filled cinder block. Main electrician (Ron, awesome guy) had a family emergency. I can keep going on. But the end is this Chad and his team took all the difficulties and rolled with them, and did a fantastic job. Inspection was passed on the second try, and I am thrilled with the results. The final price, was the initially contracted price, no surprises. I have done a lot of electrical work, and home improvement work, seeing how these guys dealt with unknowns and challenges make me highly recommend them! read more

A specialty shop for all the hard to find lightbulbs in our old house. They have plenty of cutting edge stuff too. Hope they stick around.

When our landscape lighting stopped working, I contacted multiple electricians only to find out they don't service landscape lighting. I was fortunate to find Chad at Lighting Republic. Although low voltage landscape is only part of what they do, it's clear that Chad is an expert. Not only is he professional, but he is wonderful to work with. In addition to the landscape lighting problem, I asked him to take a look at a light that I wanted on a timer. He explained a few options to me and recommended a wireless option that ended up costing me less. I really respect him because that option didn't bring him any business. The more expensive option would have been a hard-wired solution installed by him. He recommended the wireless option. What a great guy! I highly recommend Lighting Republic! read more

Contacted Chad at company and quick response time, based on other reviews we chose his company to meet with us and he showed up quickly to review our exterior lighting needs. Our old system needed updating and he explained cost and time to complete. Highly recommend this company for all your lighting needs. He was a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend. I recently wanted to upgrade the overhead lighting in our small home office. The project required removing the existing track lighting system and installing (4) four inch canned lights. Chad came out and was able to quickly assess the work that needed to be done, followed by an email quote shortly thereafter. A few days later a representative from Lighting Republic was able to come by and complete the entire job in only a couple of hours. Chad and his team at Lighting Republic are outstanding and we are looking forward to working with him on future projects. read more

Excellent work. Love that I pay the company through my bank account directly instead of the workers.

We contacted Lighting Republic with a challenging situation: our backyard area and deck had been wired for lighting by the previous homeowner, but many of the wires and fixtures were disconnected or broken, and the design didn't suit the space. Chad responded to our inquiry quickly and came out to look at what we had. He shared his recommendations with us and talked through different possibilities for a redesign. Chad provided a detailed proposal, built around LED landscape lighting and a smart app controlled transformer, and he guided us in selecting new fixtures that would work nicely with the design of our house. The installation followed shortly after we finalized the plans, and Chad took care of everything, including removing the old hardware and showing us how to use the app to control our new lighting. The project was started and completed on schedule, and we could not be happier with how everything looks now. We were so lucky to find a designer who is so talented and dedicated to his work. Thank you Chad, we are looking forward to having you back to design our front yard! read more

Lighting Republic is absolutely awesome! My husband and I did our research and interviewed multiple lighting companies and were very impressed with owner Chad's lighting layout for our outdoor living area, pool and bar. We've spent a good deal of time and money creating our outdoor space but it just wasn't popping at night. Chad had fabulous ideas that perfectly accented our modern landscape. And WOW! As high as our expectations were Chad exceeded them. The results are stunning! read more

My boss gave me the project to add two outlet plugs inches below the ceiling hiding the track lights cord. Sounds easy enough, but add having no idea about electric jobs and visually place the plugs where the boss would be happy. Chad helped throughout the job starting with a detailed quote and ending with a great job from John the electrician. We're continuing with additional projects with the Lighting Republic team. read more

Needed doorbell fixed and fan light and bathroom light repaired and sent a request on Yelp. Unlike others, Chad was able to give me a quote right away. I had another company come take a look and their estimate was way higher. I came back to Lighting Republic and Chad was able to come fix the doorbell and bathroom light within couple days. The fan light had to be replaced but he said it wasn't necessary. He was very responsive and the total was actually a little lower than his quote! Highly recommend! Thanks Chad!! read more

Thank you Chad, Griffin, and Dwayne. I bought a brand new EV like so many folks are doing today and the trickle charge from the standard 110 outlet @ 4mi/hour simply gives me massive range anxiety. Thanks to these guys for installing a sub panel for me and adding two 220 outlets in my garage. That anxiety is all gone! Now I get 32mi/hour and I don't have to worry about leaving it connector on the car for 10-12hrs. These guys provide quality work, punctual, and professional. Lighting republic is incredible! In LA, it's hard to find good people/reliable companies so I feel like I'm letting the secret out here. But- Chad, the owner, was extremely responsive, efficient and accommodating to me. He got my bistro lights installed before the date I needed them in and came and saw my property as well. He discussed options with me, answered all my questions and was THE dream professional to work with. He even got cords for me that matched my exterior so it wasn't a sore thumb! After a lengthy process of seeking bids and looking for qualified help, I found Chad at Lighting Republic. He was knowledgeable, communicative, and prompt. I could tell immediately that he was competent and that he could do the job we needed at a price that was fair. After we finalized a start date and price, Marvin came out and did the actual work, and he was fantastic. These guys are great. I had a couple of old lights that just gave out in the kitchen. I wanted to convert them to LED lights and was about to do it myself until I met an electrician who had just suffered an electrical burn injury. Needless to say I opted to get them converted by professionals. Chad was very personable and communicable. He scheduled me as soon as he could, which fell on Easter Sunday. John Henry came out to my property and was able to do the job quickly and efficiently. Chad came out to the site to check on John since John had been working all day and brought him some snacks and drinks like a thoughtful employer. He stayed on site and we chatted about a bunch of things including his 20+ years in the business. Since I was so used to my 4 kitchen lights being on I forgot about the 5th light over the kitchen sink since it was operated by a different switch. Chad offered to go buy a light at the nearest home depot but came back later realizing home depot was closed for Easter. John took it upon himself to convert that 5th light so all I would need to do is plug it in when I bought a new light. These guys were great. Highly recommend. read more

I'm currently in the process of doing a bathroom remodel and timing is truly of the essence. We had been working with another Electrician to get a panel upgrade done, but they bumped our appointment back by 3 weeks. I reached out to Chad in hopes that he could come out sooner. He called me back immediately, even though it was just a few minutes outside of the "business hours" time frame listed on Yelp. He quoted a fair price that was in line with what we were prepared to pay with the other company. He pulled the permit for me the very next day, and stayed in constant communication with me to get things scheduled ASAP. I appreciated his timeliness and doing whatever it took to keep us on track.
