Used to be good. First visit since they reopened and won't be going back. Sat at the bar as I used to, about 6 others there. Bald guy behind the counter said hi then ignored me for about 6 minutes. He wasn't taking orders from anyone just wiping up. Then went and talked with a coworker for about 2 minutes. Never gave me a menu or asked if I wanted something to drink. I finally got up and walked to the hostess and said I guess I need to be seated at a table to get service..... She took me to a table that was diirty. She at least asked if I wanted something to drink. Waiter came around pretty quickly. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with poached eggs and a side of cheese grits. Very small side of grits, very odd taste not sure what cheese they used. Had to asKimk for butter. The biscuits were dry and mealy. Not a lot compared to all the competition in the area. These owners need to go back to New York or Jersey or wherever they are from...... though I have had better food and service there so not sure what's up with these people. read more

My wife Becki and I ate here about a week ago and had been here a couple of months ago also, since the new owners got it going again. Last time I got their Fried Chicken and this time Becki got it. Both times, it was totally awesome!!! You have to wait about 15 minutes, but it is well worth the wait cause it is made fresh every time! Kinda reminds me of good ole home made Fried Chicken like Mom use to make, actually, it is a lot better than Mom's chicken, but don't you dare tell her! Last time Becki got a wonder Blue Cheese Hamburger that she said was extra yummy and this time I got an open faced slow cooked roast beef sandwich with great real Mashed Potatoes and amazing Creamed Spinach. By the way, Becki had a side of Mac and Cheese both time and reported that is was great also! So I am glad to report that the Light House Restaurant is back and better than ever! Had the creole omelet is was OK, not what I expected. Basically the ingredients were mixed together with the eggs..... So they can get by with using less ingredients. The inside of the folded eggs were empty. Sent it back seems they forgot the creole sauce in a creole omelet. Sauce was good, but again not much other than eggs and sauce. Ate here for the first time 12/8/2022, tried the secret recipe meatloaf. I'd keep it a secret, not to tasty. Mashed potatoes were ok. Broccoli with cheese could be better. Use melted cheese not cheddar, cheddar gets hard and you have to scrap it. Had key lime pie for dessert, had zero taste, no lime taste at all. Everywhere in Florida I order this to see who has the best, this is at the bottom of the list. The complimentary corn bread was very tasty. Waitress was friendly, but not very attentive. I was excited to try this place out, as the reviews made it sound good and the location looked awesome across the street from lighthouse park. Unfortunately, I am disappointed by everything here - except the price. I will say we were greeted and seated right away, yet only one of us was given coffee - the second person in our party didn't say anything quick enough. The service was very spotty and slow, and felt as if we were to fault if we didn't speak up loud enough or quick enough. The food was - there. It needed seasoning and pretty much lacked any hint of flavor altogether. I ordered over medium eggs and they came out more runny than an over easy egg. The pancake is huge, yet by the one I got to try it it was cold, and the syrup was cold as well so it wasn't very appetizing. read more

Returned to the Lighthouse for Dinner. Had an unbelievable Blue Cheese stuffed Burger and Onion Rings. Also, tried the fried Bologna Sandwich with Caramelized Onions and washed down with a piece of Red Velvet Cake! Everything was fantastic. Good service and met the friendly owner. This is my second fantastic experience. Cant wait to go back and try more, but first off to the gym!! read more

Don't listen to the haters on yelp that are just mad, because Fox News broadcast live from this diner. The owners and employees are not racist, homophobic, or anything else stupid that people are calling them since the broadcast. Everyone is welcome, and you will see that when you visit the diner. Fabulous food, attentive staff with great attitudes. I'd say it was a typical diner, but the food is so much more than that. I had the Green Eggs and Ham which is made with their "mess o greens" (a mix of collards and other greens seasoned and cooked to perfection with onions). I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! My dining companion had The Benedict; a traditional eggs Benedict with a side of hash browns (so generous we took a box to go). The bacon was thick and cooked well; I think they finish it in the deep fryer). They have HARD milkshakes and a bunch of great drinks for those enjoying a nip. Four of us had breakfast here Sunday morning. It was busy, but it's bigger inside than it looks from outside! Big parking lot, plenty of space inside. The food was delicious, the service pleasant, friendly, and very efficient. I had the special, croquettes with pastrami, poached eggs, and mustard sauce. I ordered the special because as I read the menu it all looked so good I knew I'd never be able to decide on one breakfast! It was a wonderful choice. The other 3 adults all said their food was great, and we agree we have to go there every chance we get. I must say it's a joy to order sliced tomatoes on the side and have lovely deep red, ripe slices. So often 'fresh tomatoes' turn out unripe and sour. The home fries had onions and peppers in them, and my sister and husband both said they were very good! read more

I have been here a few times . Overall a good experience but was a bit disappointed on a recent lunch here. Tried the rueben sandwich for $12.95. Overpriced. Only get one side . I had the cole slaw which about 3 ounces. The corned beef was thick sliced and not tender. (Also : we waited 25 min utes for our meals at lunch time at 12:10. on a Tuesday. Two meals were ruebens and one meal was sausage.)The corned beef should be thin sliced and it had a lot fat which was not digestible. The gristle and excess fat should have been trimmed before serving. Definitely will not order the rueben again. There is a competitor than will never be beaten on the reuben. The menu looked great on a hot Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded. The hostess sat us and took our drink order and delivered the drinks quickly and informed us our server would be with us soon. Then...crickets. waiting. Waiting. Waiting. I started wondering if perhaps the Rapture happened and took all the servers but we did see several running around, so there went that theory. Finally the hostess came over to ask if all was OK. We asked for the bill for our iced teas, paid and left. $6 for iced tea. At least it was cold. Another favorite (what I would consider) staple of the Jupiter/Tequesta/Jupiter Island area. Everyone who works here seems to be in a constant uplifted state. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with that old timey diner feel. Most importantly, the food is to drool for. We visited again this past Friday night while my family was in town (including my 2 year old niece). We all enjoyed our drinks and food. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was phenomenal. I'm not sure why this diner is never busy when I've been there, as the food is top notch for a 'diner' and the service is always great! We did have a small issue with another customer being upset that she was seated by a young child that doesn't sit silently. Instead of speaking with the wait staff, she decided to make rude comments to us. The staff witnessed the event and immediately apologized and brought out crab cakes to make up for the nasty patron. While this put a damper on the night, it was not the wait staff's fault and they did everything possible to make amends with us. There were about four or five other tables seated but no one ever greeted us or came to the door so we left. So I had the classic angus burger, but I missed the fact that it was a very thick and juicy burger. I asked for it medium-well, but the inside was a bit pink. Tasted real good, though! My mom got two eggs, gravy, bacon and biscuit a la carte, and it was apparently pretty good. The eggs had an odd but faint sugary taste, and the gravy was made with raw italian sausage rather than a breakfast sausage. It's a country gravy, mind you! The biscuit was very good, though. Have eaten breakfast here three or four times, and Lunch / Dinner, maybe four times. Always enjoyed the food here, especially the Gumbo. The menu is typical Diner food, sprinkled with some more unusual items such as a root vegetable hash, Gumbo and on one occasion a really excellent 'special' of a lamb burger North African style, with spices and a side of tzatziki. A true hidden gem! My family and I have driven by the Lighthouse Diner hundreds of times without stopping to eat. A friend of mine from work recommended it to me telling me that they made the best chilli dogs in town. He wasn't telling a lie, huge natural cased dogs with house made chilli. I liked it so much I had to return for breakfast. I ordered a Southern boy's staple, biscuits and gravy with tator tots. The best that I have eaten since moving to Florida nearly a year ago. I will definitely be making the Lighthouse Diner one of my regular spots. Everyone is very friendly here. Great service can make or break a meal. Came here after visiting the Lighthouse and asking for recommendation and whoa did this place exceed my expectations. I got the Benedict special pulled pork on cornbread topped with a poached egg and it was GOOD. I never knew I needed that in my life but now I want MORE. Staff was attentive and all wore masks. Food was quick. We watched the World Cup while we were there. The orange juice and lemonade were fresh squeezed. I got the Hungry Man Breakfast, which is two eggs, two pieces of bacon, two pieces of sausage, and a pancake or French toast. It didn't really sound like that much, but I got it, the pancake was gigantic and it also came with home fries and a biscuit. We ordered from their catering menu for a recent graduation party and I absolutely cannot say enough about the food and the service! They were so responsive, the food was spectacular. We ordered the empanadas and they were specifically made with the filling we requested. Sauces were out of this world. Freshest Pico ever. We ordered blackened chicken, cooked perfectly. Also did a gorgeous Caprese salad! We will definitely use them again for gatherings big and small! The icing on the cake was the follow up after the party to make sure we were happy. Bravo! Not bad!!! I thought it would completely suck but it didn't. Hubby and I both had sandwhiches. He the cod, me the brisket sandwhich. The sandwhiches were a nice size. The French fries were super hot and crispy. Service was excellent. I left two stars out because we both noticed that the cod and brisket were out of the freezer.
