    I've been using Dynacare Labs. near my home for decades and they've always been TERRIFIC…read more Had to go to this (different) location today to hand in a routine medical specimen: 1. Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

However - EVERY time I have gone to Dynacare and had my blood taken by Cristina, the Lab Technician, whatever magic or needle sorcery she does - it's painless and over in seconds. And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. Thank you Cristina for making my worst nightmare actually MORE than tolerable now : ) Lisa P

    If I could review less, I absolutely would without hesitation…read more I had to get some bloodwork done, and unfortunately because of my past experience's with my veins being terrible and normal technicians missing the mark, I get panic attacks each and every time I get blood drawn. because of my on-going health issues, I had three requisitions to complete, so at least I was making the most of my visit, or so I thought. when I got to the counter I was told I had to pick which tests were most important to get done, because of the worlds issues they were only doing two requisitions each visit. i tried asking for more clarification, and the lady behind the desk absolutely exploded in a stern turn, raised her voice and said "I DON'T MAKE THE RULES" pretty terrible experience to go through. so I had to pick two of my tests and didn't go back to do the third one. I tried to find this on the public website where this ruling was, nothing online, and nothing was shown in the office/waiting room either. it was explained in long format when I followed up with life labs, but no apology was given for the snobby technician for the bloodwork being drawn. absolutely no satisfaction. parking is a bit of a crap shoot as its street parking for this four story medical building plus other stores in the neighborhood. transit option is the 501 queen bus/streetcar directly with no other close by option absolutely felt insulting to come here, had a panic attack, was degraded, and worse still, if I need to do bloodwork, this is the closest location to where I live and I don't have a close option. come here if you want to be treated terribly!
