Doing that makes all the difference. The staff are usually quite friendly and even comical as they try to coax blood from stubborn veins which makes what could be a frustrating situation a little more bearable.

To be honest they seem short staff all the time as the receptionist also does bloodwork and often you are left at the counter until they come back 15 minutes at least ! so be aware find another location if you are a 'walk in' and save time going to Southdown for nothing !

You can make an appointment directly on their site, but they also take walk ins. I used to go to Sunnybrook for blood tests, but coordinating this with a baby was hard. They open right at 7:30 on weekdays (closed on weekends). The staff are extremely efficient. This morning I went at 7:20 and was out the door by 7:40. This is my go to lab now. In the last few months (unfortunately) I've had to to several tests and can say I've got to know the staff more than the average Joe. They take care of you here, not the "in-your-face" kind of help you get from a salesperson at you clothing store. But they try to make the needle process as painless as possible. And this is what makes me happy here, they're not rushing. I've found out the best time to go is 4-5pm as most people try to go early in the morning as some tests require fasting.

It wasn't long before I started to feel light headed and sweaty. Claudette truly took care of me...she quickly finished drawing blood and began to fan me with a board as she motioned me to put my head down to get the blood flow back to my head. She got me a glass of water and stayed with me until I felt better. This woman truly made an uncomfortable chore tolerable and her kindness made all the difference.

I've been here twice now and both times they were overbooked. They get folks through fairly quickly…read moreand efficiently but their scheduling results in the clients waiting outside on the street. First time the wait was annoying but a little more tolerable due to warm weather. Second visit, just like the first, I arrived 10 minutes early as instructed. After 25 min waiting outside I finally got in out of the cold and was able to sit down. I'm a left leg amputee and standing for long periods is harder for me than most. There are no chairs or anything to sit on outside their office. Most disappointing is that the staff couldn't have cared less. I'm not looking for 5 star concierge service at a blood lab but I would have thought someone would have been concerned about the issue I raised. I just got silence and a too bad so sad look. It's conveniently located but for me that's all it has going for it. And be prepared that they will be well behind in their schedule.

Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

However - EVERY time I have gone to Dynacare and had my blood taken by Cristina, the Lab Technician, whatever magic or needle sorcery she does - it's painless and over in seconds. And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. I think it's only paid during the work week (Mon to Fri). I only went because it's opened a bit earlier and longer than the other Dynacare locations and similar labs in Mississauga. I had to visit twice for blood test because of one test was time sensitive. The 2nd time was a morning visit. I was expecting to be done within an bour before heading to work. It took a lot longer that even though I was there pretty early (about 30min after opening).

This clinic is always busy and depending on when you arrive, you might have to wait for 60 to 90…read moreminutes. Using the online app to check in is a must. That way you can stay in your car or maybe run a few errands, and when it's your turn, you will get a text to come to the clinic. The long wait is the only knock against this location, the premises are as clean as other sites, and I found the Technicians friendly and helpful, as well as quite knowledgeable.

With something like 15 surgeries under my belt I've met more than a few medical teams! When the appointment is booked you receive an email with very comprehensive instructions, medical history forms and consent forms that can be filled in online, printed out and completed to be brought with you or you can arrive a few minutes earlier for help with the forms. if you have unique concerns they are addressed patiently and repetitively if needs be up to and including your arrival. I never felt rushed. No one was impatient. They have very apparently never lost sight of the fact that this is not your favourite way to pass a few hours! Everything on the health history was run through again. Everyone introduced themselves and explained their part in the procedure. I was very effectively put to sleep and I woke up about 90 minutes later feeling very fine and not at all groggy, though you will not be allowed to drive yourself home. This is also explained several times. I expected to be sleepy for the rest of the day. I did not feel at all drowsy. My husband was briefed on their findings. He was issued a summary of the findings and a follow up appointment for me. I will certainly be returning when these procedures are scheduled to be done a few years in the future! My previous experiences with this hospital were not very good at all, quite the opposite and in the negative. This experience was much better, was able to hop around and find a wheelchair no problem. The staff were super friendly and worked with a sense of urgency, when it all was said and done, the visit took about 3 hours, the only thing that I have negative to say was that the doctor at the time read my xray wrong and I got a phone call the next day telling me very bad news. The hospital was very clean and bright. Lots of parking on site Transit options are the 123 and 80 buses, and the 15 with a bit of a walk from the mall.

An urgent care centre (UCC) provides care for non emergency injuries and personal health issues. Sprains, cuts, rashes, broken fingers etc for example, as well as blocked catheters, urinary retention and post surgical complications if needed. Emergency care is provided at another site, as is inpatient care. This site provides investigative and pre operative work up, as well as rehabilitation on an outpatient basis. An army of knowledgeable volunteers and clerical staff ensure you are seen in good time. The UCC practices triage, so less urgent cases may wait a long time for treatment. These cases could probably get seen at a walk in clinic or at their own doctors. Properly utilized this can be a one stop shop. Before I retired as an RN I referred patients here appropriately and they received good care. My wife had her follow up care here after her knee replacement, and I have cardiac investigations done here. The one down side? The cost of parking, although options are available to reduce the cost for frequent attenders.
