In the last few months (unfortunately) I've had to to several tests and can say I've got to know the staff more than the average Joe. They take care of you here, not the "in-your-face" kind of help you get from a salesperson at you clothing store. But they try to make the needle process as painless as possible. And this is what makes me happy here, they're not rushing. I've found out the best time to go is 4-5pm as most people try to go early in the morning as some tests require fasting.

I think it's only paid during the work week (Mon to Fri). I only went because it's opened a bit earlier and longer than the other Dynacare locations and similar labs in Mississauga. I had to visit twice for blood test because of one test was time sensitive. The 2nd time was a morning visit. I was expecting to be done within an bour before heading to work. It took a lot longer that even though I was there pretty early (about 30min after opening).

This clinic is always busy and depending on when you arrive, you might have to wait for 60 to 90…read moreminutes. Using the online app to check in is a must. That way you can stay in your car or maybe run a few errands, and when it's your turn, you will get a text to come to the clinic. The long wait is the only knock against this location, the premises are as clean as other sites, and I found the Technicians friendly and helpful, as well as quite knowledgeable.

First time the wait was annoying but a little more tolerable due to warm weather. Second visit, just like the first, I arrived 10 minutes early as instructed. After 25 min waiting outside I finally got in out of the cold and was able to sit down. I'm a left leg amputee and standing for long periods is harder for me than most. There are no chairs or anything to sit on outside their office. Most disappointing is that the staff couldn't have cared less. I'm not looking for 5 star concierge service at a blood lab but I would have thought someone would have been concerned about the issue I raised. I just got silence and a too bad so sad look. It's conveniently located but for me that's all it has going for it. And be prepared that they will be well behind in their schedule.

Today I had some bloodwork taken ....A LOT of blood ...many many vials…read more.... I had a lovely lady named Claudette taking my blood. She asked me how I was doing during the blood draw. It wasn't long before I started to feel light headed and sweaty. Claudette truly took care of me...she quickly finished drawing blood and began to fan me with a board as she motioned me to put my head down to get the blood flow back to my head. She got me a glass of water and stayed with me until I felt better. This woman truly made an uncomfortable chore tolerable and her kindness made all the difference.

Was told that my doctor had not given me the correct paperwork. Had to call my doctor's office, only to find out that the paperwork I submitted was accurate (AFTER the lady on the desk checked with her colleagues). WTF. 2. I asked if I had to pay for the test. She said "no", then asked a colleague who said "yes". Okaaaaay. 3. I handed her my card, assumed she was swiping it (couldn't see beneath the counter top), she handed me back my card and said I needed to pay. WHAT. I thought I just did. No, that's done by someone else. 4. Constant, incessant interruptions by her colleagues left me waiting and waiting and waiting. Finally, I had enough and suggested she focus on completing my transaction to which I received a mouthful and to which I responded accordingly. They need to train their front-line staff AND they need an additional person on the front desk. All I wanted to do was hand in a specimen and it took waaaaaay longer than it should have with a lot of aggro. Go to another Dynacare if you can. This place is atypical of Dynacare's usual high standards.

However - EVERY time I have gone to Dynacare and had my blood taken by Cristina, the Lab Technician, whatever magic or needle sorcery she does - it's painless and over in seconds. And she has consistently taken it quickly and painlessly over the couple years I have gone, is always calm and pleasant, and puts me at ease telling me stories or jokes. I'm a little hesitant to write a glowing review of this Alpha Laboratories location because it's a…read morehidden gem and I don't want it to get busy, but here goes. Alpha Laboratories opened up here just a couple of years ago when the plaza was developed. There are a lot of parking spots that get filled up quickly, but I've never had a problem finding a spot. The lab is fairly small inside. The waiting room seats several people, but it's not particularly useful since the wait is extremely short. I haven't seen more than 2 others waiting when I come by. When you walk in, they give you a slip with a number on it. On the other side is a sudoku puzzle to help pass the time. How thoughtful. However, I rarely have to wait longer than 10 minutes. This is a huge contrast to some of the more popular labs, like Life Labs. I've been to multiple Life Labs locations in the past and there's always a line out the door and the wait can be an hour or more. The phlebotomists here also work the front desk. They're both skilled and caring. They get the job done quickly. Alpha Labs is my go-to place for blood work because I value my time.
