Picked up my husbands grandma from her home near by to take her out to breakfast. This place is about a mile away which is perfect. Came here on a Saturday morning and boy was it packed, put our name on the list but they were able to seat us in less than 5 minutes. All the servers were supper cheery and nice, something you don't see everywhere. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, husband ordered the 2x2x2 with French toast and bacon, grandma ordered her usual two eggs with a ham steak. We got our food super quickly which was great because looking at all the food around us made even more hungry. Violating COVID-19 Safety Measures: When I called Lido Cafe to make a to-go order, but I noticed that it sounded very busy and very crowded on the other line. When I asked if they are doing in-person dining, she told me yes, which is clearly banned in our region at the height of the pandemic. I have a lot of empathy for restaurants right now, which haven't been given enough government support to close their indoor businesses - that isn't right. This is one reason I try to support local restaurants by ordering take-out. But the decision of this restaurant to "break the rules" here is puts my whole community at further risk, continues pushing hospitals to their breaking point, and slows down efforts to bring our society back to normal. My father was hospitalized with the virus a few weeks ago and is slowly starting to recover. Lucky for us, there was still room in the healthcare system. If businesses continue acting like this through January, other families likely won't be as lucky as me. read more

Came for Sunday brunch before noon and the place was hoppin'! Checked in with the welcoming hostess (owner, maybe?) and got seated after a 10-15 minute wait. A very polite young man took our drink orders and brought back waters and 2 strong coffees in adorable mugs. It took us a few minutes to look over the breakfast and lunch menu. Everything sounded great. I settled on the California Corner omelet (breakfast meats and cheese) and DC got the chorizo breakfast burrito. I'd say the portion size was smaller than I expected, but it ended up being the perfect amount of food to satisfy our bellies. Everything was delicious. Fruit was fresh and salsa was mild but flavorful. Seemed like we waited a little longer than we should've to receive our food, but like I mentioned, the place was busy. Our food was served hot and we never had an empty cup of coffee while we waited. So no complaints! As I am sucker for a good hearty Sunday brunch, finding a place in Carmichael was a big surprise. Reason being is that there are not many brunch options to choose from in the Carmichael/Fair Oaks/Citrus Heights area. However, my lady stumbled across "Lido Cafe" since it is right down the street from her work. And we were both glad we gave this place a try. Conveniently located on Fair Oaks Blvd. and adjacent to California Ave. in the heart of Carmichael, Lido Cafe has been serving up breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner ever since 2006. Considering this place has been opened for that long and I have never stepped foot inside, I just had to give it a try. In addition to their in-house menu, they also have a nice little bakery. Finally, this place is dog-friendly as they have a small menu for your pooch! The easiest way to find this place is that its just a stones throw from nearby Boulevard Coffee Co. and a block away from California Family Fitness. Parking is fairly easy to find even on the busiest days. My lady and I came on a late-Sunday morning around 11:45am. As there were patrons waiting to be seated, the inside was packed and lively. The demographics has an older crowd which I am guessing are many locals that frequent this place on a regular basis. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately. However, every table on the inside was being used until my lady saw an available table outside. We were then given two menus and seated ourselves. After glancing through the extended menu, I decided on trying their "Pork Chop and Eggs" (for $10.95). This meal included country potatoes, two eggs, toast (I ordered rye), and topped with country homemade gravy. She ordered their "Strawberry French Toast" (for $11.95). This meal included strawberry cream cheese stuffed French toast, two eggs, and she chose a pair of bacon strips. We just settled with orange juice as our drink of choice. Now keep in mind, this place was VERY busy. So if you happen to dine at Lido Cafe during peak hours, give yourself at least 90 minutes from the time you park your car to the time you leave. Our orders were taken at roughly 11:55am and we did not get our food served to us until 12:45pm, a good 50-minute wait. And our server never asked us how we were doing during that long stretch of minutes. We were able to flag him down and get a cup of ice as our glasses of orange juice was getting warm with the sun beating down on it. When our meals did finally arrive, everything was presented very nicely for my lady and I. My pork chop was seasoned well and very tender. The country gravy was thick, had a nice consistency, and not overbearingly salty, The eggs were cooked perfectly and just the way I like them. And finally the potatoes were decent but had a weird look to them and a little bit on the crispy side. I tried a couple bites of her French toast and this was a home run to me; sweet and succulent. Now I am being very generous giving Lido Cafe a 4-star rating even though waiting for our food took almost an hour. However, there was one more small mishap! I noticed the receipt on my meal (Pork Chop and Eggs) said $10.95. The menu itself (and even their website as of October 2016) listed the price as $8.95. To me this is not a big deal but to some, it might be a major issue. Overall, their food was delicious and our server was being very courteous even though he was swamped with customers. So this was a nice little hidden gem; just make sure you give yourself a couple hours if you plan on dining here! read more

Our first time here and we are in love. They were super busy but we were able to sit out front immediately. Even though they were down a server, they were super sweet and quick. Like every time I call to order the employee who answers asks me to hold and then just puts the phone down. Not only can I hear everything in the background, but your employees forget you have someone waiting on the phone. After 15 minutes of waiting I just hang up. I tried to call back a few minutes later but just get a busy signal. All because the phone is now off the hook and wasn't placed properly on hold! Like seriously... did y'all skip customer service skills 101?!?!? Another thing to add...stop passing your credit card processing fees onto your customers. Came here with a large group (9 people) on a Sunday (Veterans day) holiday. We waited about 15 mins but they sat us faster than we thought. It was super busy (1030am on a Sunday)...we had all the Vets and all the post-church people, etc. Even with how busy/packed they were, we were given our drinks quickly and order taken promptly. The food came out and looked delicious and hot...it tasted amazing. Everyone loved the food, coffee kept getting refilled...I had the BIG DADDY BURRITO and it was amazing (its the red tortilla one). I love Lido's! I've seen a few reviews that really shocked me about Lido's. I've only had great experiences and warn service. I love their salads and think imma need some pancakes tomorrow. This place has been a staple for my family and we love the burgers and the homemade taste of all the great pastries and cakes. I want to remind my neighbors that we are in a terrible economic place and small businesses like Lido's are at risk of closing. Be kind, and empathetic when you can. I went for breakfast - seating is outside ... there was a guy with a guitar and mic and i didn't feel like listening to him. So, i go to far end away from him and it was a larger table where NO ONE was sitting - after sitting there the owner asked me to move for three people who came after me. So, i said i don't want to sit by her entertainment and she said i didn't have to - and sat me right by him. Obviously i left and called her back to complain in which she demeaned me ... This is not the first incident - i came once for take out and sat there for 40 minutes before she discloses that they gave the wrong order to someone else. She couldn't have told me when they did it? And in her phony demeanor apologized for giving my order to someone else. i wouldn't have minded ... people make mistakes but she took order after order and then decided to tell me and offered me their food? i didnt come for someone else's order nor to sit 40 minutes for take out. Food was very good. Place is nice. They are following COVID guidelines of spacing out tables and they had outside seating too. Staff seemed friendly. They were pretty busy, alot of people came so they must be popular. Yes, there were alot of workers it looked like to me. A few hiccups: 1. Asked for a refill on my coffee and didn't get offered til we paid for the bill nor were we asked if we wanted more drinking water. 2. Drinkware looks like it needs to be replaced. When drinking my coffee, it seemed used but I'm sure it's clean. The appearance of the cup was not appealing and my significant other commented on his plastic cup as well. 3. Most shocking part to us was they charge over $2 on your card when not paying with cash!! I can understand if it was .50 cents or a $1 the most but it was $2.16! read more

Hate to downgrade a star, but alas, my last foray to Lido was lackluster. Located in a strip mall off dismal Fair Oaks Blvd, the setting is quaint with outdoor seating. Definitely a locals joint, you can tell the baby boomer regulars and retirees love it here. I ordered a half order of the eggs benedict for $8.95. A pet peeve of mine is when the yolk is cooked through. This was the case for my order. Part of the joy of an eggs benedict is having that oozy yolk mix with your English muffin, at least in my opinion. The fruit on the side had seen better days. I didn't even bother trying it -- watermelon looked dried out, cut up apples were turning brown, etc. My one spear of asparagus was missing the tip. That's the best part! Grrrr. Daughter got a sides of biscuit, potatoes, poached egg and bacon. The biscuit was a bit on the burnt side, but homemade. She was happy with hers. Husband got pancakes, eggs and bacon. Pancakes were meh and you can't really go wrong with eggs sunny side up. Service was friendly, but we waited a good 20 - 25 minutes for our order. Normally if they had coffee on the house or cinnamon rolls on the house like our favorite spot in Folsom, it wouldn't have been so bad. Turns out I had a grumbling 'tween and the booth behind us had three loud fishing buddies who liked to pepper their conversation with f-bombs. Unfortunately you need more than just friendly service to bring me back here. With tip, bill come to $37. Think I'll pass on this spot for now -- or until I retire. read more

The coolest thing about this place is the menu for dogs :). Yes your furry pawed buddies are welcome here, although there really aren't very many outdoor tables. The service was friendly but inexperienced servers kept walking back and forth with a single item instead of putting everything on a tray and bringing everything at once. We tried the following items: Doggie grilled chicken $1.75 grilled chicken breast served on a Frisbee plate. Lucie gave this chicken four paws up :) Fresh baked cinnamon roll $3.95? soft but not enough cinnamon or frosting. Hamburger Breakfast Plate $8.99 a hamburger patty, two eggs, potatoes and bread. Now the odd thing was Lido's hamburgers are 1/3 pound but the patty served with my breakfast was either 1/4 or 1/5 lb. As you can imagine a patty that small gets pretty tough and it lacked seasoning as well. The potatoes also contained raw crunchy slices. Seafood Omelet $13 this was pretty decent with small shrimp and good flavor, the potatoes were still raw. While some of the food was below average, this place get an extra star for the Doggie Menu, Lucie threatened to bite me if I didn't give this place 3 stars. read more

Thanks to Yelp, we found Lido's when I asked for dog-friendly restaurants that offered shade from Sacramento's brutal summer heat. My friends and I were trading dogs for dog-sitting and we each drove 2-3 hours each (she came from Watsonville, I came from Tahoe), so it was important we could find a place that we could relax with the beasts. Their patio has sunshades and they provided the dogs with water bowls. They even thoughtfully had a set up where people could leash their dogs without tangling them up. AND they had a dog menu! For $2 each, our dogs got a frisbee (yes, a frisbee) as a plate and a generous serving of plain grilled chicken. As for the humans, I got a $12 bagel and lox. SOOOOOOO good. That lox was delicious. My friend got the veggie omelette which she really liked. Service was excellent and friendly. They did forget a side dish of fresh fruit, but we were so stuffed we forgot about it until we paid the bill. We didn't make a big deal about it. read more

I was excepting to wait for a long time considering how busy it was but we were seated immediately by some of the most friendly servers I think I've ever had. Since we had our pup with us, we sat outside. They were so accommodating and they even asked if we wanted a water and some treats for the pup. That alone gets 5 stars for me! Based on the reviews I ordered the eggs benedict, which comes traditional on an english muffin with a side of potatoes and a fruit salad! The reviews were right and it did not disappoint. Traveling for work and stopped at Lido cafe and bakery since it was near the customer we were working with. What a great find! The restaurant was crowded at 11:30am, but we were able to get a seat without waiting. Service was quick and efficient. I started with the mushroom soup-it was fabulous. Loaded with fresh sliced mushrooms, carrots and the soup broth was perfect-not over loaded with cream. Delicious. Followed with the Lido's favorite Quinoa bowl-yummy! Quinoa patty was tasty and not dry. Greens were fresh. Dressing was delicious. Would highly recommend. Finished with a nice smooth cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie from the bakery. I love that they have so many gluten sensitive options. I went today and had a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich. The bread was lightly toasted and it didn't fall apart like many GF breads do. The ingredients were so fresh and tasty. They didn't skimp on them either. I could barely fit the whole sandwich in my mouth. My mother had cream cheese and strawberry french toast with eggs and bacon. She loved it. They were really crowded (it was about 1pm,) but still got our food really fast.
