Top line review : Liberty Restoration is a superb subcontractor as is their partner Highland Adjusters a home public adjuster. My experience was severely marred by questionable business practices. PROS 1. Home Adjusting - Phillip Dupor is a brilliant home adjuster who achieved remarkable approved claims for hail damage. He is extremely aggressive and persistent having appealed my claim a couple of times effectively maximizing my approved claim beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Note their commission on successful claims is 25% if restoration is not done by his partner firm Liberty Restoration, effectively locking you into working with Liberty Restoration. 2. Roof restoration - Liberty is a subcontractor who utilized an excellent roofing company and gutter firm to replace my roof and gutters and install a damaged skylight. Close to a dozen people worked over a two day period to replace my 4500 square foot roof, gutters and gutter guards. Their work was flawless, professional, and they cleaned up after the job. CONS - Business practices 1. Financial invoicing - I was presented with a final invoice for $1500 in spreadsheet PDF form. It was full of errors, omissions and spreadsheet miscalculations. After voicing my opposition with little relief, I finally compiled my own spreadsheet which showed that they in fact owed me $300. I received no apology for their $1800 error. 2. Back dating of invoices - after the work was done, they presented me with two invoices for gutters and gutter guards back dated before the contract asking for additional funds because they made an error on their claim to the insurance company stating I had 5" gutters when in fact I had 6". The back dating was illegal, making it look like they were part of the contract. The sales rep Phillip Dupor indicated in writing, he would have to pay for the gutters out of his commission due to his initial error. I found this highly manipulative and paid the difference because of my admiration for his home public adjusting skills. 3. Excessive Profit margin - I asked for upgraded gutter guards. Their initial invoice was very high and after research I determined their material profit margin was 78%, including what was reimbursed by the insurance company. After installation they asked for another $407 because of their initial measurement error bringing their profit margin to 133%. They refused to negotiate on this excessive charge. 4. Gutter measurement error - they initially filed an insurance claim on 5" gutters and downspouts when in fact I had 6" gutters, charging me the difference. After refiling they received additional funds from the insurance firm for the 6" gutters but refused to share this with me in the form of a rebate stating they earned it with 2 additional visits from the gutter company to rectify a color clash of white downspout on brown roofing and to install 2 water diverters in corner gutters since during storms water was pouring off the roof. Note, the approved claim far exceeded what I paid for the gutters and gutter guards even adjusting for inflation. 5. Fake Google reviews - both Phillip Dupor and Daniel Ju have submitted five star reviews for the company they work for. There may be more employees filing fake reviews. These need to be removed. 6. Skylight warranty and service - they installed a new solar powered Velux skylight damaged by hailstorm with no documentation or warranty. It took prodding to achieve correct documentation and warranty. 7. Disingenuous chimney repair estimate - I asked for a proposal to repair my damaged chimney. Phillip Dupor supplied me with an invoice for $3,920 tuck-pointing without even inspecting the chimney assuming it needed tuck pointing - it didn't. Subsequently they had a masonry company out to inspect the chimney providing an invoice for $7,410 with sparse detail on work to be performed. Bottom line - a fine home restoration firm that could be made better with improved business practices. read more

There Are Not Enough Stars To Describe Liberty Restoration Group And it's people. We met the Jason and his family at a conference. During a meet and greet One night, my Wife and were exchanging pleasantries with Jason and his Wife, We described our family which is big(6 kids with our youngest being autistic) and our life which is busy. As we were talking we turned to the topic of our home and weather and some of the storms that came through our area in the Catskills of Upstate New York and some of the damage it caused to our roof and interior. At this Jason perked up "That's what i do, how did it happen". We have a pretty big Victorian home about 4600 sq ft. We had damage to 3 parts of our home. on the main sloped roof we had lost a few rows of shingles, and on the back roof we had lost some shingles and on a large part of a flat roof covering an addition we had a huge ice dam build up and flood the interior bedroom beneath. We exchanged pictures and Jason happily said this should be covered by your insurance. He then took the time to instruct me on the process and what i needed to do when i got home. I appreciated the time he took to explain everything to me, It would have been plenty, but before we left for home, his family to Illinois and ours to New York, he pulled me aside and told me when i got home to conference him in when i called the insurance company and filed the claim. True to his word when i got home he took my call and helped me file the claim and set up the adjusters appointment. then he called me back and took me through everything to expect from the adjusters appointment, what to show him, what not to accept, he drowned me in knowledge, I was overwhelmed, but i could not thank him enough again for taking time out of his schedule to help our family again. Had he stopped there it would have been above and beyond, but he didn't the next day he called back and said "I've thought about it and if it's ok, i would like to come out for the adjusters appointment, i wouldn't be able to sleep if i didn't" So the night before he Flew in from Chicago, I picked him up at the airport at 1 in the morning, and first thing in the morning we got out on the roof and he went over everything before the adjuster got there we took more pictures. Then when the Adjuster got there Jason took over and took the adjuster through everything top to bottom. The adjuster quickly realized Jason was a professional and very knowledgeable and NOTHING would be slipping through the cracks. He retreated to his truck and Came back with full coverage for the Full roof replacement Both the Top roof with the shingle loss and the back flat roof had the Ice dam, and the sheet rock and insulation for the room beneath. More then half the cost of the replacement was paid for right there $18,000. I was overjoyed but Jason didn't stop there, even as the the adjuster and i was trying trying to thank him he said "We are not done, now when i get home my wife will call you to go over what we need to do next, she will help you handle any supplements." Next Jason's Wife, and coworker Ken ended up helping me negotiate contractors, the insurance company. Documenting pictures and receipts making sure that everything, was covered by the insurance company. The supplements were Sheathing, Valley metal, additional drip edge, Ice and water, and a small additional roof that was not included but was tied into the rest of the roof all of these little things added up to an additional $9,000, half of which we weren't even aware of and wouldn't have been without The Liberty Restoration Team and their Expertise. In The End, Jason and Liberty not only went Above and Beyond, but 900 miles to the East.....5 STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH read more

Recently we have had our roof replaced by Liberty Restoration. From the beginning of the selection process working with Jason Wheeler, we were put at ease. Jason discussed material selections that best suited our home; the extensive requirements of our HOA, and what would best serve our natural environment. We were put at ease by how Jason guided us through the investment timeline and quality assurance of Liberty Restoration. The scheduling and the efforts for the deinstallation of our existing roof were spot on. When "pop-up" storms came our way, the work crew covered any exposed areas and continued to do so until the project was done. Preparedness of the roofing crew ensured that the area and intricate landscaping surrounding our home remained intact; our grounds were cleaned at the end of each day, and all of this was done with a smile! The synthetic shingle product we selected looks beautiful on our home; our neighbors have commented on the beautiful installation, selection of color, and the wonderful copper valleys and edging. This was not a "one-crew" does it all project; specialized craftsman worked their trade. A special crew for the 50-year synthetic DaVinci shingles, a craftsman for all of the copper work, and for the gutter and downspouts too. When we had questions, Jason was available to talk with us, as was Kerry. We cannot say enough about Liberty Restoration and the "total project care" that was afforded to our home and family. Thank you, Jason Wheeler and Liberty Restoration for all of your help. Jim and Shirley read more
