First time here. Great food great service! My wife and I were looking for a quick bite for breakfast and by chance my wife chose Libby's. We were seated quickly and almost as soon as we day down or waitress appeared with coffee. The menu is a tight standard fare breakfast. I got the French toast and two egg combo with scrapple and my wife got a western omlet with homefries and toast. Both orders were delivered in what seemed like minutes. Great YUM, but it's a little farther down from the downtown area. I went here for a lunch break. Walk from work was quick. I ordered a BLT and it was very good. The waitress was very friendly, quick to get my order and provide refills when needed. Payment was easy and I felt very satisfied. The place is bigger than I expected from the outside, plenty of tables, and even a Delaware senator stopped by for some food! It seems like a a very nonchalant place where people could eat without much bother. I would come back to this place. I recommend this place to anyone in the surrounding Wilmington area. I just want to say I have been a customer for years here and know no longer. Last week we had problems twice with our sandwiches we ordered. When we took one back Libby's son was insanely rude. Talked to me as if I was some trash off the street and that he was so much better then me!! Then we decide to give them another chance and this is what we are given today!! Two burnt ass sandwiches!! They should be ashamed to serve this and to treat customers this way that WERE loyal!! Lesson learned!! Will not return and advise others to be mindful!! read more

A nice little place located a block and a half from the Sheraton in Wilmington. Family owned, this Mom and Pop restaurant is where you want to go for home cooked, economical meals. This place is an excellent alternative to the $17+pp hotel buffets. Average fresh cooked breakfast with unlimited coffee is under $7. We did the google thing but asked a city worker where we could get breakfast. Wow,when we got the butter in a round dish vs. little pads we knew we were in a good place. Simple, Easy going place with stomach stuffing food. So Good..you think your Grandma cooked it. Price, for get about it. If you can't afford this place, you live at home with your mother & play video games. We actually were going to go back the next day, it was that tasty. Libby's is a special place. Run for 30 years by first generation Greek immigrants, it is a place where the Governor and Delaware's political and legal elite can be seen eating breakfast or lunch at a table next to a homeless person. It is a noisy, quirky restaurant where all are welcome and treated alike by Libby, Teddy and their experienced staff. Contrary to another review, it is the best of America. While the atmosphere is special, so is the food. Everything dish is made from scratch and given a special twist like the cinnamon and sugar dusting on the thick french toast to the onions, black pepper, and garlic in the green beans. The homemade soups change daily. The italian wedding and bean soups are especially delicious. Every weekday brings a lunch special that has a strong following like meatloaf on Wednesdays and crab cakes and fried fish on Fridays. Libby's is the busiest breakfast and lunch spot in Wilmington for a reason. It's the best. read more

In town for a wedding and didn't want to eat at hotel. Asked Doorman at our hotel to recommend a local breakfast spot, with good home cooking. Libby's was awesome. Not frills, just good food. My husband and I ordered the Libby Special: 2 eggs, choice of meat and choice of pancakes or French toast. My husband also ordered a side of potatoes with onion and peppers. I ordered a side of toast for my dippy eggs (over medium and they were perfect) My MIL ordered the French toast only. We all had coffee. It was overwhelming portion size! It was all good! More than we could possible eat. Total bill: $25. Also, the server was very friendly, prompt, but not invasive. Absolutely will go back if in Wilmington again. read more

Food was good for the price, the restaurant needs a little TLC, as far as cleanliness and updating.

I ordered the crab cake platter. The crab cakes, you can see the lump crab meat, they are crisp and seasoned perfectly. I like that they are cooked on the griddle and not deep fried so it cuts the greasy feel and taste. It is served on a bed of fresh lettuce. The cole slaw was delicious, it had the perfect amount of sweet to it. Last, the fries were golden and crispy. I carried the platter tray 6 blocks to the office and they were still hot and crisp. I found my meal to be very good. What made my entire experience enjoyable, the service! I wish I had gotten the name of the lady who took my order but she was pleasant and welcoming. She took time to talk to us and we joked a bit about a custom order that my co-worker got. It's not that many restaurants that will do something that is not on the menu and they were very accommodating. We will surely be visiting this restaurant again for breakfast. read more

A couple Saturdays ago, my girl friend and I ate at Libbys Restaurant. Well, all I got to say is that was the best breakfast that I had in decades. We had grits, eggs scrapple, turkey sausage, pancakes and toast. Man that woman can cook. Everything was cooked just the way my grandmother use to do it. Always delicious. Always friendly. And they have grits, which is a huge plus to me. And they'll do half potatoes and half grits as a side on eggs. Only downside is putting the car at a meter. But the prices are low enough that the extra is no big deal. Cash only. read more
