If you don't have tix to the game at Rupp this would be an AWESOME place to hang out and watch. We went over for dinner. We started with the shishito peppers (AMAZING) and onion rings. I absolutely loved the peppers and couldn't stop eating them. The onion rings were a bit greasy but the flavor of the batter was really good. We ended up splitting a burger, the bluegrass willie, which was OUTSTANDING! I'm still trying to recreate it at home. If nothing else I would go again for dinner! read more

Not usually the type to write reviews but can't help myself. My wife & I were seated at the bar last night waiting on our food and noticed the 2 "security guards" staring at a young man seated a few seats down from us with his friend group. Next thing we know, the brown-haired security guard walks around behind us, takes his jacket off, and begins to get into a verbal altercation with the young man initiated by the "security guard" who came up and was cussing at him first. Pretty quickly, the "security guard" puts the young man in a choke hold and calls him a "retard", drags him out of his bar stool, which sends the stool flying across the dining room, and proceeds to forcefully drag the young man all the way out of the building with no resistance whatsoever. Out of curiosity I asked a couple that was seated directly beside us what had unfolded and they said the whole altercation was over the young man taking a hit off of his Mr. Fog vape while seated at the bar. I totally get if that is against your policy but there was no need for what took place AT ALL. On a side note, I've worked in the restaurant business for years in the past and imagined that out of common courtesy, a manager would at least come by and apologize for what just took place. Nope, instead the young blonde haired manager spent the rest of our visit over with the 2 "security guards" laughing and cutting up about what had just happened. I saw that as extremely unprofessional. I put "security guard" in quotations because it sure seemed like a "tough guy" scenario to me where the young man was much smaller than the security guard. I can't imagine he drags anyone out of there that weighs more than 170lbs. Either way it was a terrible experience and my wife & I will not be back. If it wasn't for the location, I can't imagine this place would keep the lights on for long just based off of the management alone! ‼‼‼ This was a witness that seen what happened. This was just what happened inside. After they had physically put him out and he was head-butted by the "security guard" they continued to antagonize and threaten us at the entrance of the establishment. We kept trying to walk away because the "security guards" wanted him to fight back so bad. As where walking away they continue to threaten and cuss at us. My man being very angry had threw his vape in their direction, it hit the ground but missed them. As soon as we got around that corner onto high street, the 2 "security guards" come running around the corner. They cornered us up again the brick wall where the movie billboards are continuing to threaten us. Next thing you know both of the "security guards" are on him throwing him around, they ripped him out of his hoodie and he came out both of his shoes where he then fell into the street nearly getting hit by car. When he got up to get away from them the brown haired "security guard" then came for me. He grabbed me by my neck and had me up against the brick wall chocking me to the point where i couldn't breathe. By the way i'm only 4'11 and 90 pounds. It was definitely scary and was took way farther then it needed to be. We are both bruised and scraped up from the situation. So last night Monday, April 29th 2024 around 9pm my group of friends and i decided we wanted to do a little late night Monday bowling. When we walk in the bowling alley we approached a young lady, i am unsure of her name. There's 6 of us and we decide that we want to do two hours of bowling which cost $120.00 for 6 people + shoes. Keep in mind that , that is $30 more than a Friday or Saturday night at Southland Lanes which is the best bowling in Lexington (they just happened to run leagues on Monday's). As we approach the lady who was working the desk we pay get or shoes and then go to lane #2 which she assigned us. When we get to the lane, there's only one other party in the at least 15 lane bowling alley. If you've ever been to Lex Live, you would know that the set up is one giant booth for every two lanes. The expectation was that we would be sharing the whole empty bowling alley right next to the only other party there. The other party was about 8 people and we did not want to be cramped inside the booth to share a lane when there were plenty of other choices. I go back to the lady who was at the front desk and i ask if we can have another lane. At first she tells me no because it's first come, first serve. Which makes zero sense because if it's first come first serve we should get served the appropriate lane or one that we request. I then ask her again, i tell her that only one other lane is in use and we would not like to share a booth with a whole 8+ group. She then gets an awful attitude and says "there" and points at the lane. I bypass her attitude so i can try to enjoy my night. We put our shoes on which did not fit properly but we continued to bowl because we were not wanting to inconvenience the lady again as we did the first time. Which is sad, as we are paying $120 for a lane and are scared to try to get the appropriate shoe sizes because this lady who maybe had two people other groups in the whole arcade and bowling couldn't be bothered to provided us good customer service. As we do the first couple of panels bowling, we notice that every-time we bowl the ball is rolling that the if it goes down the middle it wobbles and goes to the left. We try to excuse this but literally every ball we throw goes in the gutter. After about 1/2 through the first game our suspicions are confirmed. My boyfriend and his best friend decide to approach the desk again and request for help. The assistant manager approaches the desk and assist them. My boyfriend tells his concern that the lane is uneven and he tell them that there is nothing that he can do as all of the other lanes are full now. He doesn't offer a monetary refund. My boyfriend comes back to me and tells me that the assistant manager knew the lane was uneven. The issue here is that Lex Live had continued to charge us full price for a lane that was barley functional and they knew this. I walk back up to the desk again and ask for the manager. He states that he doesn't know what to do and turns around and ask another gentleman for the help. That guy suggest that he refund us the whole thing (he was probably the nicest guy here besides the bartender, for obvious reasons). The manager agrees to refund us and advises that we should receive our money back on the card shortly. He does not apologize for any issues or inconveniences that he has caused. He does not have any sympathy for the issue. When we are walking away he continues to talk to the girl next to use and snicker and laugh while we were standing right at the lane next to stand and could see them. We go back to our lane to finish the game we were on and mid roll, they turn off our lane. Obviously this was highly upsetting as we had already completed a couple of panels and wanted to finish the game since we had already struggled so much. We all decide to gather our belongings and just call it's quits since the staff clearly didn't care and there was no reason to continue to fight with them when we were trying to have a good night. Both drivers take our parking ticket up to the same man and lady to get the ticket validated for the parking garage. He takes my ticket and validates the ticket and he takes my friends ticket to validate. When we get to the ticket reader, my ticket is validated and our friends isn't. So again for however many times tonight we have to go back to the desk to get additional assistance. The silver lining of this story is that we were not going to let this ruin our night. We decide to go to Main Event about 15 mins away which was having a Monday madness special. We were greeted by very approachable and friendly staff who walked us through how to get the biggest bang for our buck when we just wanted to go bowling. They explained to us how we could get unlimited bowling, laser tag, pool, and more for $12.00 a person. Which is equivalent to $72 for all of us compared to the $120 for one lane and HORRIBLE customer service and experience. (Pt. 1/2) read more

Fun place but this guy Matt the bartender is something else...I was sitting at the bar watching basketball and this kid ordered a Shirley Temple. Matt took $5 from the kid and "forgot" about his drink. Not only did he "forget", he put the kid's money IN HIS POCKET...the bartender I was working with was super nice, attentive, and engaging. I left a tip FOR HIM! and Matt took the tip and moved it so our bartender wouldn't see it. SMH! We told him and he ended up grabbing the tip. Came for Sunday brunch. While the biscuits and gravy was surprisingly good, the rest of the entire buffet was basically in edible. Bacon so undercooked it was raw. Scrambled eggs were soggy. Fried potatoes were old even though I was there right after they opened. Pancakes and French toast were cold. Fresh fruit was not fresh. My boyfriend and I came to the showing of the Five Nights At Freddy's movie when we noticed an individual sitting in our seats. We were lucky to catch the manager, Greg, and explain our situation. Greg made everything perfect for us. He spoke with the individual who was in our seats and handled the situation for us with ease. He not only offered to reimburse us for our tickets, but offered to remove the patron who falsely took our seats, purchase our meal for dinner if we chose to stay for the next showing, and made us walk out happier than we walked in (and let me tell you, we are excited for this movie). Thanks to Greg, we now will get to see the movie we have been waiting months for much more comfortably, with free concessions, and better seats than what we had originally bought. **We ended up choosing to see the 10pm showing of the movie in a better theater with seats next to each other for free with free concessions as opposed to our original 7 pm movie tickets where our seats were taken. One of the worst parking garages in history. You are better parking at Madison Square Garden in NYC than LexLive in Lexington, KY. It took 45 minutes for 10 cars to exit. We visited for our first time today after the University of Kentucky men's basketball game. The place was fairly crowded, but we quickly found a seat. The manager was instrumental in getting a waitress to come over and take her order. Service was slow, but the food was good and at a fair price. Immaculate facility. My only recommendation would be to have more staff for the busier times in downtown such as after basketball games. In addition to the restaurant, they had a bowling alley with probably 10 lanes. Up to six people could play for an hour for roughly 7 dollars per person plus shoe rental. We will be back to catch a movie sometime soon. read more

Where do I start? Bowling: Bowling is ridiculously overpriced at the base price of $42 for up to 6 people per hour, but where they get you is the small caveats in the pricing structure. $4.50 per person, per pair of cheap bowling shoes, and they're required to bowl! $2.50 per pair of socks if you walked in with a pair of sandels or crocs and you quickly see your base price jump to over $70 for an hour of mediocre bowling! Arcade: The arcade has some pretty cool games, but some of them are complete knock-offs of originals (Halo having a needler that shoots like an assault rifle, wtf?) and the price per game is absolutely absurd. Seriously, you could end up spending $50 playing 10 games consecutively! The guy at the bowling counter told me "the arcade is where the crickets hang out" and in regards to reserving a bowling lane: "are you the tipping type?" What the hell does me being the "tipping type" have to do with reserving an overpriced bowling game for an hour? Ugh. Bar/Restaurant: After having to ask for a waitress and finally getting service at the bowling lane (I had already spent $20 on two drinks earlier in the evening) we ordered two kids chicken tenders with fries and proceeded to wait 30 minutes for them to arrive. Upon arrival, they looked on point and tasted fine until after about 5 bites of my daughter's chicken tender I took a bite and pulled a giant hair that was longer than any person's hair that was amongst our group! I was too drunk to even care at this point. So we finished our bowling game (actually, our hour was up) and we moved back to the arcade around 1 am. At around 1:52 am we were asked to leave by the manager on duty who stated it was 2 am and they were closed. He acted like we were taking advantage of them by staying until 2. God forbid we get our monies worth! The counter to exchange points on a card for prizes was closed, so we couldn't get our 3-year old daughter anything and the feeling we got leaving that place was that we weren't welcome there again. I rate this a 1-star because it felt like a money racket more than anything worthwhile. I really thought it was going to be amazing after it was recommended by someone who knows Lexington entertainment more than me, but the experience was anything but. If you don't care about your money and want a fun time filled with teenagers and young adults with their hands in your pockets for tips, this is the place for you. But if you work for a living and want a good value for your dollar, avoid this place like the plague! Visit a trampoline park or spend $100 on a party at home - either would be a much better bang for your buck than LexLive. read more

They came over and fixed it but the game continued to malfunction. We walked away and later our older boy complained that the same machine took his money. My husband asked staff to hang a sign or disconnect the machine and they responded " admin won't let us". So LexLive owners do the right thing....
