Waited over an hour for food, no explanation of why it was taking so long. Zero refills, terrible service, and when the food came half of it was inedible and half of it was decent. We asked to speak with a manager about the experience, he could not have cared less - zero apologies, no accountability, didn't offer solutions or anything. The burger buns tasted stale, the chicken tenders were overcooked to the point of being inedible (we sent them back with no offer of replacement). Just an overall sad, disappointing experience. I actually felt bad for our sever, who said it was his second shift ever - they set him up for failure. We didn't get one refill, waited over 45 min for appetizer and over an hour and 15 min for our mains - will not be back...the management is pathetic and the owners should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This place has a ton of potential, but it seems management isn't interested nor anyone else that works there. Came to watch Sunday Ticket, which, kudos to them for getting it. It's pricey. However, the management had many of the TVs on a channel where the game had ended hours ago. That was the first red flag. Then I was seated at the bar where one bartender stayed in her phone at least 75% of the time I was there. Not sure what she was getting paid for. Finally she sent another bartender to wait on me. I had a couple of beers that were lukewarm and a club sandwich which was extremely underwhelming. After I finished, it took 30 minutes for the bartender to give me a check. Bar top was sticky and I never saw any cleaning. Not great. read more

Several tables not cleaned as he watched them leave. Never greeting or otherwise. More concerned with his people coming in to visit and making sure they were taken care of. We are visiting from Ohio. We've been on the road since 6am stopping for breakfast in Cincinnati and in Winchester to play in a baseball tournament where the real feel was over 100°. The restaurant has a large covered patio facing the parking lot. The door to the restaurant is in the rear of the patio towards the right. The server was putting us at a high top when he noticed my limp and offered us a low top. I gratefully accept and followed as he leads us to THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT. (Hello- limp!?!) We get there and its a booth because I'm supposed to use my bad leg to push myself into a huge, sticky, wooden both. I just thanked him and sat down. As I longingly looked back at the 50 or so 4-top tables near the host stand that would have been perfect for someone with a disability. But we were hot, hungry and tired so I sat and opened my very dirty menu. The person before me really loved their wing sauce and wanted to share! I started with a cup of beef chili. It was very mild and not special. I liked it but I would not order it again. My son ordered the Mozzarella Logs. Gigantic Mozzarella Sticks! These things were as large as big egg rolls. My son is an athlete. A hungry athlete. He could only eat one. Hubs and I shared one. They were really good! Hubs ordered the Bourbon Burger. The Bourbon sauce was just a sweet BBQ sauce. The burger was juicy, the bun was standard and it came with a side of house kettle chips. Nothing special. Next time he will upgrade to one of their other sides. Hubs said he would get the burger again but he wouldn't return FOR the burger. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. Kitchen sent out fried chicken. The server apologized and brought me grilled chicken. I wanted buffalo chicken. Server recommended their medium sauce. Next time I would order hot. Like the chili- their wing sauce was very mild. Service was either hot or cold. When we first arrived the server was attentive and helpful. He was MIA later when we needed him. I started this review giving it a 4 star. But as I wrote this, I remembered all of the reasons we will pick a different restaurant for our 4 day stay in Lexington. read more

Updated: Jan 2023 In town and made another visit to KSBar. As before, it didn't disappoint. We've only ever ordered their sampler appetizer and were so full we couldn't try any of their other food. So this time we decided to skip the appetizer. My husband got the bourbon burger and I got the chicken tender wrap. They were both DELICIOUS. When my husband first received his burger he said "I'm disappointed I didn't get the sampler." But then he took a bite of the burger and said "omg the bourbon sauce on this burger is so f-ing good". So there you have it, folks! My chicken tender wrap was really good - especially drizzled with ranch (because I put ranch on everything). Their beer selection is always wonderful. This place remains one of our favorites in the state of Kentucky! read more

I'd first visited KSBar a couple years ago and really liked the food. The wings especially were memorable for not being the sad greasy deep-fried stuff soaked in wing sauce. They had a nice portions option, too. You could get 4, 6, 10 count all the way up to 20. When went recently and requested 20+4, I was told the menu was wrong. When I asked for the 30 wings I had to order instead to be broken up into dry rub, Carolina, and hot buffalo, I was told there's no dry rub style, that those would come naked. (The menu was wrong again.) So we decided on Parmesan sauce on the side. The wings came out and those with buffalo sauce had barely any sauce at all. The naked wings came with a cup of melted butter with Parmesan in it. All around the wings experience was disappointing. read more

Great place to watch a UK game, especially an early season game when other locations will have trouble drawing a game day crowd and you are looking for that passionate atmosphere. Brisket was tender, good smoke flavor and a sweet bbq sauce with just a bit of heat. Tray came out with regular fries instead of the requested sweet potato fries but they were good and we were halfway thru them before saying, "didn't we order the sweet potato fries" so we didn't hassle the server. I normally avoid pubs, but a group of coworkers wanted to go here for the CFP championship. The ambiance is a bar; loud, difficult to talk without yelling, and not somewhere I prefer to spend a while. Service was quick and friendly so that is a plus anyways. I ordered boneless wings and sweet potato fries. The wings, although I was very excited for them, came out mushy and barely warm. The sweet potato fries were bland and small portioned. It was probably the most under served $20 meal I have had. They get two stars for friendly service and the wing sauce at least had decent flavor. read more

Got wings and fries for lunch. Everything came out cold af. Asked for new fires and the waitress said she would get them. Waiting about 10 minutes on new fries and just dealt with the cold wings. Told the GM about the problem and she said the meal was on the bar since it was our first time there. I ended up leaving my wallet there by accident. When calling back to see if it was there the GM wanted to say I walked out without paying. Went back to get my wallet paid my bill and tipped the waitress more than I should have. The GM is an awful person to have running your bar Matt jones. She went on to tell me I was banned for life from the bar. I told her good because I'll never walk back into that place. The wait staff is always friendly and we didn't have to wait to be seated . However on Game Days don't expect to walk in and be seated without a reservation. I ordered a beer and waited 30 minutes for the waiter to tell me it hasn't been tapped and I need to figure something else out. So after waiting for the waiter to come back, my impatient self just walked to the bar to order a beer. I waited ten minutes to attempt a second beer order. I was told that I can't order have to go through waiter., and oh, my second choice was also not available to order. Waiter comes back 15 minutes later. And after an hour waiting for a drink, I just asked for a water. Guess what...? That never came either. Food looks like trash too. I didn't order because at that point I had given up on this place. Went to KSBar during Railbird Festival on sunday. Could tell they were understaffed and already overworked from the first day of the festival traffic. Nevertheless, the bartender Devon, as well as Dani and other staff kept great attitudes and provided genuinely great service to the patrons. Especially during big events like this, if you notice people trying their best despite the craziness, please do what you can to be a good patron. Most restaurants now allow you to "buy a round" for the staff, which I gladly did. It was a simple way for me to show appreciation for being treated so well, despite the hectic backdrop. We gobbled them up before remembering to take a photo. The fish sandwich was huge and topped with a delicious Cajun Mayo. Great atmosphere for watching games. Tons of TVs and the bar commonly has competitions going on during large sporting events. For example: during Breeders there were payouts after each race for the customer that picked the closest trifecta. For the ncaa tournament there was a contest running for each game and if you picked the closest final score you won $100 bucks. Makes dinner and drinks even more fun! We enjoy KSBar for any of these types of events. Reason for three star rating is service. :( This service rating is based on at least 3 different experiences. The last time we were in we waited at least 10 minutes (not during a rush) for a waitress to even come and greet our table. Took literally another 10 minutes for her to get back with the drinks. There appeared to be more than enough people working but they were not prompt. We were brought out incorrect drinks, sat with empty glasses and never even asked if we'd like a refill. Everything took about 3x what it would at other restaurants. Very mediocre service. Overall, the food is great and it's a fun place to watch events! My brother, girlfriend, and I all went on a Saturday morning game day and it was packed and we still got our food and drinks very quickly and we're able to catch the shuttle to the game. Well. It was going ok until a fly landed in my $7 bourbon barrel ale. I showed the waiter and watched him walk it outside to presumably a manager. Nothing. No comp of any kind. In fact, that was the last we heard of it from anyone working there, and then then the bill came - still no comp, so I got to pay full price for a beer I couldn't finish. Also, all but two of a zillion TVs are on the same obscure game so not a great sports bar approach. I'll update: on my way out I spoke with the gentleman who I saw my waiter take the glass to; he confirmed he was the manager and apologized for never coming over, saying they had gotten slammed and he didn't get around to it. He asked if the beer had been comped, which it hadn't..(he stopped short of saying he had told my waiter to comp it so I assume he had not..). He did go in and get a couple of free appetizer cards. I appreciate the apology and the cards since at that point a comp would've been a hassle and we were needing to be somewhere..but going forward I hope they make it easy on everyone by telling staff that hey. We stopped by KSBar & Grille while in town for a college visit with my son. The restaurant had an interesting vibe. It was decorated like most sports bars. The temperature was very - very warm when we arrived. Almost uncomfortable. Luckily, when the manager arrived, she recognized the temperature problem and corrected it, by opening the doors. The food was ok (pricey)- nothing to brag about. There was a "Live" talk radio show going on during lunch. This isn't a big issue, but the one radio host was very LOUD. Also, only hearing one side of the conversation was a bit annoying. KSBar & Grille, like almost everywhere else, was a bit pricey. $15 for a salad seems a bit much. The salad was large and not $15 for lettuce - wow. KSBar & Grille is worth stopping if you are in town, but I doubt I'd make a trip back. read more

Put name down for an hour wait. Got the text and arrived 8 minutes after because I was in the bathroom next door. The text had three options: "Reply 1 for on my way 2 to cancel 3 if running late" I responded, "3" and received an automated thank you text in response. Once I arrived 8 minutes after, not only was my table given away, but the hostess was very rude and condescending and smiled saying, "obviously we can't hold a table for almost 10 minutes." I explained that I responded to the text with the "running late" option and arrived 8 minutes after the text. I asked if I could at least be put down for the next table.
