Eleven of us from several states got together for a late lunch here today. Not very busy due to the hour (2:00 PM) and day (Sunday). We were seated quickly; the lunch menu was varied; we had quite a few different choices (club sandwich, portobello sandwich, burgers, avocado toast, steak, chicken & beverages). Service was quick; everything was very good; prices were reasonable. It's a beautiful venue and so convenient that we will surely return! read more

We were staying at the hotel and decided to just eat here on our arrival day after many hours of driving. I made an Open Table reservation; the bar was full, and the seated areas were nearly full. There was a conference going on so there were a few large tables. The food took a long time to come out, and our server, while very nice, seemed frazzled. The place is certainly understaffed. When our food finally did come out (over 30 minutes just for the salad) we did enjoy it. The entire Marriott is having air conditioning issues and it was quite warm in the place. The Griffin Gate hotel is an upscale golf/spa hotel. This restaurant will be the death of it. Who's in the kitchen anyway? The hamburger was so greasy it made us sick. The pork chop could be used for shoe leather. The grits were hard they were so undercooked. The med steak was charred black. The waiter did not check in after the food was delivered. This restaurant is located inside of the Marriott, and the ambience itself is very beautiful. We came here late because we were on the road for much longer than we expected. My partner ordered the ribeye, and I had the filet mignon, both of them ordered medium rare.The service itself was very dismissive, non welcoming, and we weren't even greeted when we first came up. The food took about 20 minutes to get and we decided to take it up to out room. It was extremely disappointing. The ribeye was completely well done and some parts weren't even edible. It also had a weird after taste. The potatoes it came with were lying in a pool of oil, so it was very greasy. The filet was closer to MR but was one of the least tender filets I've had. The sauce on the filet did help with the flavor and I enjoyed that. The filet came with green beans, of which, some were basically raw still and other were over done. It also came with potatoes, that were just boiled with no seasoning or flavor at all. Given the price of the food, filet is 55, ribeye is 65, you expect a lot more. That, coupled with the service, I wouldn't waste your time unless it's something quick and easy for you to grab. read more

Service was good. But they have a cook (at least last night) that doesn't know how to cook. All of our food was inedible. It was mixed company & a business meeting so we had to act like to was fine but none of us ate more than half the food on our plate. And it was expensive. Let me just say wow wow wow!!! We are staying on property and have eaten here both nights we've stayed and couldn't be more happy! After a long day of touring around Bourbon country and having some amazing meals it's nice to be able to come back and relax and just head downstairs to eat. The chef at this restaurant is top notch! Everything we have tasted from the super fresh butternut squash soup, roasted beet salad and grilled Caesar salad to the steak sandwich and brisket sandwich to the fries! Everything is fresh, perfectly prepared and looks like it's from a 5 star restaurant! I could not recommend a place more highly. The prices are also reasonable and the staff has all been so friendly and helpful! Our bartender Lauren has been amazing!!! We've had her both night and she's fun to chat with and has had some great recommendations for drinks and also things to do around the area. Can't wait for dinner there again tonight!!! read more

Over-promised, under delivered. Was excited to try the Country ham sandwich with whipped Brie and fig jam on a pretzel bun with a side of fries. The pretzel bun looked like it had gone through some rough times, had to search hard to actually find any fig jam, and what we did find was definitely old. The Brie was not whipped instead was room temperature slices of Brie with the rind on it. The fries were soggy piles of sadness. We also ordered the sticky ribs. Apparently hold the sticky as there was zero sticky to be found with no actual flavor or Carmelizing finish. Promise with pure sadness on delivery. Waiter/bar hand seemed unconcerned. read more

I've come to not expect too much from the food offerings in Lexington, but this might be a new low. It's the *only* restaurant inside a spa/golf resort hotel. You would think that hotel prices would confer *some* pride in the product. WELP. Ate here for dinner last. Beet salad was fine. My daughter's catfish smelled and tasted quite fishy, which is a bad sign for fried fish. The fries were good. My wife's burgers was fine. Nothing special, but adequate. This morning, I paid more than $20 for a terrible omelet and bad coffee. The potatoes served with the omelet had the taste and texture of a boiled potato that had then been sliced and tossed in oil. No flavor. No texture. Zero crispness. Just bad. The menu is not large. This shouldn't be that hard. My recommendation to the good people of the Griffin Gate Marriott is to start over. read more

I ordered the cheapest entree on the menu which is still $30. The Steak fritees. I ordered medium, and it came out WELL DONE and burnt. The fries were ice cold, too. The only reason for 2 stars is the exceptional bartender. read more

First time at Bluegrass Bistro for Sunday brunch we sat outside on the patio, but they also had indoor seating with an outside Breeze. Food was amazing, portion size was perfect and pricing just right. The staff was super friendly the GM even came over twice to make sure we were satisfied. Some of the best food, service and drinks I have had in a while. Really was craving an espresso martini and it was one of the best, I have had (I highly recommend). The hotel has no room service so I tried to call the restaurant for takeout. You can't call the restaurant from your room so you have to walk down. Can they call when the food is ready? No. Somehow they aren't able to call a room in their own hotel. I waited 35 mins for a salad with grilled chicken $17 and a butter cake $11. The salad was smaller than the half salad the they served with lunch. The dessert tasted pretty good but was very small for the money. Overall, this was an awful experience. Just order from Uber eats. read more

We went for Sunday brunch, the food was fantastic, good prices and portions! We sat outside on the patio that overlooks the Griffin Gate Golf course, had watermelon mimosa's and listened to Ben Lacy! Do not go by the pictures that they post themselves. We did and we totally regret it!!!!! Made a reservation through open table and when we got there at 6 pm, the restaurant was bare. Only two tables eating there. We had zero clue that they were located inside of a hotel. We ordered the deviled eggs and they were very bland. It's as if they just made the yolks a cream and funneled them into the egg white. They had bacon bits and blue cheese on top of them but it didn't help at all. My boyfriend ordered two drinks ($12) each and they both were definitely not worth that amount of money. (He got a second drink thinking that the second one would be better since there would be more ingredients in it, but it was just as bad as the first one.) We proceeded to order our entrees and both got the ribs. He got full rack which was $28 and I got the 1/2 which was $18. We also both got the pulled pork Mac n cheese and wedge fries. The ribs came with a jalapeño cornbread. When I say that the cornbread was as hard as a hammer, I mean it. I took a video of me hammering it against the tin plate they gave us and not one piece broke off. I'd place it on here, but only photos are available to post. The ribs were sub par. Something you'd expect from Sonnys bbq. (Except sonnys has better sauces.) the Mac and cheese was actually good but wish it would have came out hot. The wedge fries were the best thing from our visit there. I had to ask for salt, pepper and hot sauce so I'd be able to add some flavoring to my meal. The bill came out to be $80.00. Never again. I wish I were one of those people who could ask for their money back, but I'm not. I'd rather leave this review and warn others about eating here! Stomach is still a bit upset. read more
