Management is awful . Food and drinks were decent and venue is awesome ! Management needs to go ! Who the hell put this person in management ? I was told to leave after paying for an hour of bowling . I understand vaping isn't allowed and that was the reason I was told to leave after sneaking one modest hit off of my vape . This manager YELLED AT ME from across this massive space we are in. " IT'd BE COOL IF YOU DIDN'T VAPE. " Look I get it . I can't vape , it's the rules " What process or protocol in this position would warrant YELLING at a guest . I can't imagine how he speaks to staff . Trash this man. He continued to eyeball me after giving me a very antagonistic warning to not vape. We had paid for one hour of bowling and was just about to begin. It made my girlfriend very uncomfortable cause he kept sneaking and eyeballing us . We were about to start the time we had just purchased . I was told my I would get a refund i have yet to receive for a service I didn't get . Manager looks like a South Park character who is like some kind of VAPE HALL MONITOR . Management has zero tact or customer service skills . Words were exchanged more than once . Learn how to approach your guests ! A wonderful venue but no people inside cause y'all suck . Very disappointing. I understand the rules that warrants removing a person from a venue but learn how to problem solve without losing your cool. It's a nice quality to have on a resume for a position of this stature . Do better . Be better .

Kentucky alumna here! Visited Lexington last weekend and spent the afternoon watching basketball at LexLive. Everything from the food to the service (Jazmine and her trainee were fantastic) to the atmosphere were great. Even with an event at Rupp we were able to find parking and get a table quickly. It was so much fun to be there during the tournament and lovely to see UK fans cheer on other teams, even though our team had not advanced. Most impressive was the crowd. You could have heard a pin drop during the national anthem, as everyone respectfully took a minute. But once it was over the crowd erupted with cheers. Completely heartwarming and reminds me why I love Kentucky. We will definitely try to make our way back there soon. Hopefully, we will get to cheer on Kentucky next time. Best way to spend the afternoon watching sports.

Adult chicken tenders and fries and kids chicken tenders and fries.

Service was slow. Got 1 refill after several asks. Picture shows my adult meal, $16, and my daughter's kids meal, $9. Notice both have 2 chicken tenders and fries. My meal was supposed to be regular fries too. The hot brown was awful! Bread on the bottom was soggy and the mornay sauce was bland. Not coming back for dinner.

Blood Habanero Boneless Wings
Fat Man Reviews K.

The Fat Man and his wife wanted to grab lunch and catch a matinee movie. Lex Live in downtown Lexington allows you to do both. Lex Live Game Day Sports Bar offers several options on its menu: TVs, drinks, and gaming or movie entertainment for the whole family. We started with an order of Blood Orange Habanero boneless wings. The wings were a good size and cooked well, with a nice crunch to the breading. They had a sweetness on the front end with a low but lingering heat on the back end that was not overpowering. There is an excellent tangy orange flavor throughout the entire dish. The wings were coated with a good amount of sauce on them. My wife tried the Lex Live Burger. She ordered it to be cooked medium and fully dressed with pepper jack cheese and sweet potato fries. The burger came with two 4oz patties. Her fries were cooked and seasoned well with a slight crunch. The burger was cooked past medium, dry, and without much flavor. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The brioche bun was stale and too big for the burgers, causing the burger-to-bun ratio to be off. I had the lunch portion, Fish and Chips. This dish has beer-battered cod, fries, tarter sauce, slaw, and lemon. The fries were crispy on the outside, had a soft interior, and were seasoned well. The cod pieces were big and fried to a nice golden brown, flaky inside with a crunchy batter on the outside. They were a little oily, but it was not off-putting. The slaw was very dry, without much flavor. The tarter sauce tastes homemade and goes well with the fish, offering a good balance with the thick batter. A little malt vinegar would have been an excellent addition to the dish. Lex Live Game Day Sports Bar is a large sports bar with several TVs attached to a bowling alley, arcade, Imax, and movie theater. There is also a bourbon bar in the complex. The menu offers several burgers, appetizers, sandwiches, and entrees. The Fat Man says Lex Live Game Day Sports Bar is Fat Man Approved with 1 chin.

While visiting our daughter at UK in Lexington a group of parents went to LexLive for pregame drinks and snacks. We were in the sports bar area. The food was pretty good and came out quick after ordering. The place seemed clean and well kept. The downside - the service was terrible. Hard to get a server to pay attention to our table(s) of 12 even though the area was only about 50% capacity. The bartenders acted like the didn't care if they waited on any of us. The waiter was not good. I don't like leaving negative reviews. This place has great potential. But they need some serious service training. We may try it again... maybe.

5 Stars - Excellent Food and a Great Local Experience!…read more We visited Winchell's Restaurant & Bar in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 11, 2026, and what a great experience! We're from Florida, and whenever we travel, we always enjoy finding those hometown restaurants that serve great food and have that authentic local atmosphere. Our daughter attends the University of Kentucky, so we make frequent trips to Lexington to visit her, and we're always looking for new local favorites. Winchell's definitely did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous, and everything looked and tasted fantastic. From the cheeseburger and fries to the fried chicken, Southern-style sides, and appetizers, it was a great meal all around! We really enjoyed the laid-back, welcoming atmosphere and the hometown feel. It's exactly the kind of place we love discovering when we're away from home. Winchell's has officially earned a spot on our must-visit list whenever we're back in Lexington! If you're visiting the area or just looking for some excellent local food, we highly recommend giving this place a try. We'll definitely be back! Go Big Blue!

Our friendly waiter kept things moving. It was happy hour (3-6pm) so we got drinks at a reduced price. The menu had so many tempting choices it was difficult to choose. I opted for the Hawaiian chicken sandwich which was tasty. The only downside was the top of the bun was bit dry. The broccoli covered in cheese was a good change of pace. My wife got the spinach and field green salad with a piece of salmon. It was excellent and the salmon perfectly done medium rare. Prices were reasonable. Highly recommended.

On a Sunday night, there was a wait, but we were able to snag two seats at the bar. The bartenders were great--I wish I remembered their names! They made some excellent food and drink recommendations and were very attentive. We started with a Caesar salad to share, which isn't pictured, and then ordered two pasta dishes that we absolutely devoured. Everything was delicious! The following day, we discovered that many restaurants are closed on Mondays, so we ended up at Carson's again. This time, we decided to check out the back porch. We were expecting a similar menu, but the back porch seemed to focus more on meat and fish options, while we were looking for sandwiches. So, we relocated to the main dining area at Carson's without a reservation. Thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us but let us know that we would need to be finished dining by 7 p.m., which wasn't a problem for us. Our server was great, and we started with the goat cheese appetizer, which was absolutely incredible! Unfortunately, my Buffalo chicken sandwich was drenched in Buffalo sauce to the point that I couldn't really enjoy it. My spouse and I also decided to share sides of the mac and cheese and smoked Gouda broccoli. I was pretty disappointed with both because they were heavily covered in truffle, which I personally don't like. Because of that, I wasn't able to enjoy my second meal here as much as I had hoped. Nonetheless, I would still recommend checking out Carson's. There are plenty of menu options, and our first experience was fantastic. Based on my two visits, though, I would strongly recommend making a reservation if you plan to dine here!

I just bought a home nearby that I'm remodeling and don't usually have much time. So when I…read moredropped into Backstretch I expected, like many neighborhood bars, to be "assessed" by everyone prior to figuring out if I was cool enough to be in their neighborhood bar (patrons more than owners). I was pleasantly surprised. Rachel, the bartender, and Mike, owner, were both working behind the bar and both welcomed me and introduced themselves. The service was great, the burger the best you can get on this side of town. It was fast, attentive, and followed up to ensure that I was happy. It's got a smokers patio for those of us who don't want to die from natural causes and the regulars out there were friendly and talkative. When I asked for my check I got it. Both Rachel and Mike thanked me for coming in and invited me back. Stop in and don't miss this one. I'm glad I'm a bike ride from the place.

I want to relax and wind down and bullshit with friends. If I want to deal with a shitty attitude I can get that at home and the beers aren't $3.50. The only other option is deal with the other waitresses who constantly try to scam you into paying for more beers than you actually had. When it happens consistently, it's not a mistake. One time i paid the girl beer for beer, no tab. when i was leaving she insisted that i owed for 4 beers. Another time me and a friend had 2 beers apiece, i went inside and paid. Ten minutes later the girl gave my buddy a tab for 4 beers that were already paid for. I hate it for Mike.

The…read morenew location was beautifully curated and had a cozy, but upscale vibe that we're used to seeing at OBC Kitchen. They even have cozy blankets available for their fireside, outdoor dining spots; a very cute and clever touch. The bar beautifully highlights their bourbon selection which is as expansive as you would expect being in the heart of The Bluegrass As expected, the cocktails were amazing! We tried a few of their seasonal selections, a classic cocktail, and a Four Roses Small Batch neat. All were fantastic! The gin cocktail "he who shall not be named" was well balanced, bright, and overall easy to drink-a crowd pleaser! The milk and sugar (classic cocktail) and the pumpkin espresso martini were coffee-forward, not too sweet options that made for a perfect "dessert" drink without feeling like you were drinking syrup. If you want a fun, new take on some classic cocktails- OBC is never the wrong choice! Now- the food! We had the Parker's Roll- they came out piping hot in a cute cast iron skillet, a cute nod to the KY Southern cooking that I grew up with. The rosemary had just enough presence to be different/modern but was not in your face, which was a bonus for me-but if you're hoping for super flavor forward rolls these may not be for you. Not pictured, my husband's caprese chicken- it was perfectly seared with just the right amount of crispness, the marinara and caprese salad on the side were the perfect amount of freshness and brightness to lighten up the dish. The short ribs and cheesy grits felt like home- a great dish for a rainy, fall night. No complaints here! We also split the hashbrown au gratin- it was yummy, the jalapeño was pepper first, heat second and had just the right amount of freshness and heat to make an otherwise "classic" dish just a little bit more special. SERVICE! While this is a new-to-us location, OBC is a well established, well executed restaurant and the service reflects their heritage. We were fortunate to be one of the tables that Rachel and Jake were working with tonight- Rachel was training but never missed a step and honestly, was a DELIGHT to spend the evening with. :) She was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. She was not "pushy" and gave us plenty of time to just enjoy each course of our meal without being interrupted with ordering the next step. Jake (her trainer) checked in every now and then for feedback on how Rachel was doing, he was always polite and helpful but honestly, not necessary because she was amazing! We also had a few members of the bar team and "runners" check in/deliver drinks and food throughout the meal- they were all polite, timely, kind, and willing to help even if it was outside of their typical "role". Price point: for us, the meal was a little more than we would pay for "just dinner" but for a rare, parents-only, night out it was perfectly reasonable. We will probably reserve this for an "occasion" or a showcase dinner when we have friends in town BUT it is perfect for that! Overall, a great time, with great people, and great food! We're excited to have them on the north side of town!

Dark and mysterious bourbon cellar vibe that serves up some killer food…read more Make a reservation for this loud and potentially dark, depending on where you're seated, foodie joint. Or maybe slip into the bar unannounced. Super friendly! As they've outgrown the Tates Creek location and are building out the new location, the website and Google conflicted on who's open and where. At the moment I'm here on TC. To make sure I knew where I was going, Grace called to confirm my reservation and the correct location. Bonus points! If you're reading this they've already moved to Turner Commons. Maybe the best fries I've ever had. Seriously! I love a fry. The thicker the better. These aren't steak fries but a healthy, house cut, seasoned to perfection. I could make a meal of of these with the dipping sides of smoked tomato ketchup (meh), lemon-garlic rosemary aioli (oh yeah), and a thai chili dipping sauce (B I N G O) $9 Cola-Braised Shirt Ribs were good. The greens with bacon, I mean, bacon, rocked better than other sides in the past. So there's a win. The scoop of grits were delicious and made for a perfect trifecta @ $33. Wanting something more refreshing yet still filling? I highly recommend the Heirloom Tomatoes/Watermelon/Burrata salad $22. You will think it's huge, and it is, but you'll clean your plate. Dessert? Well. That's bourbon, Son. OBC has an exceptional collection. Peruse options on the iPad to get hints of flavors, proofs, and costs. May I suggest the Stag Single Barrel? It's uncut, unfiltered, and a very limited batch from Buffalo Trace. It's a beauty and a beast.
