We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to seat us inside the tasting room, which was lucky because they filled up very quickly after we got there. Two of us ended up sharing the classic tasting, it came with 5 wines, and we got an extra bonus pour of another wine they had open. The tasting had 1 white and 4 reds when we were in. We were helped by Emily, she was great to chat with and knew a ton about the wine, winery, and Paso. My favorite thing about the tasting was that they had a section on the menu that talked about the 2023 vintage (all but one wine we tried were from 2023) and how it differed from 2022. It was great education and information on why the wine was the way it was that year. We didn't love any of the wines enough to take them home with us, but we did find that the 23's everywhere weren't our favorites, we'll have to come back once they have a new vintage!

We also can bring a party of 6 for our tastings. Both the white and red wines are amazing. Even though Anthony (winemaker) now has his new winery (Royal Nonesuch Farms which is also incredible) he still is very involved here. The property is absolutely amazing. On our last visit, we had the pleasure of being served by Tony for the first time. Tony is great with entertaining stories and recommendations for food pairing. He even introduced us to a website with delicious Italian recipes. The wine is fairly priced considering the high quality.

But alas, we finally made it happen, and we had such a great experience. The tasting room is beautiful and grand, it was so cool to hear about the building and how it was restored. Tastings are by appointment, which you can book and schedule online. When you arrive the gate is closed and you buzz in to let them know you're there, so I probably wouldn't try to just walk in. As we approached the tasting room someone met us outside with our first taste of wine, such a nice touch. We sat inside at one of the comfortable couch settings, but they also had bar seating and bigger tables larger groups. You are also able to take your wine outside and explore a little bit, which we did. We noticed other groups with dogs, so they are dog friendly even inside! We were helped by Taylor who led us through the tasting, which was already set up and ready to go at the table when we arrived. Even though the wines were all out, she stopped in as we worked our way through them to talk about them a bit more. Including the welcome pour when we arrive, the tasting menu had 2 whites and 3 reds when we were in. We ended up trying a couple other wines that weren't in the tasting, and ended up getting bottles of the sensibility from the menu and a zin that was and off menu pour. Would absolutely come back here for an elevated and sophisticated wine experience that doesn't feel stuffy at all.

We showed up as a walk-in (this place was recommended by a friend of mine at the last minute, so we REALLY wanted to check it out and hoping we could get in), and even though they were fully booked for the day and could not accommodate walk ins, Sarah somehow made it work. She very clearly explaining the situation, so we understood, but her service still never dropped below exceptional. The grounds are absolutely stunning! They have an enormous industrial barn where the event was held and it is surrounded by rolling green hills and grapevines, as far as the eye can see. There is a wonderful sitting area inside with various couches as well as some outdoor seating where you can enough the sunny weather and views. Their red wine we had was so delicious and everyone was so friendly and nice! Can't wait to go back to visit again soon to try more of their wines.

We discovered Ecluse two summers ago on our first trip to Paso Robles wine country, drawn in by the…read morereasonable tasting fee, the fact that it's family owned and operated, and that it's family friendly. What we didn't expect was to be completely blown away. The facility is on the smaller side without a lot of frills, but honestly that's part of the charm. The staff are warm and genuine, and you can feel their pride in both the winery and the wines they produce. The focus here is on GSM blends and other Rhône varietals, along with Bordeaux blends and varietals -- big, bold, and fruit-forward, but balanced enough to keep things interesting glass after glass. We had such a great experience that we joined the wine club before we left. We don't live locally, but the Ecluse Enthusiast membership is absolutely worth it -- especially with only a 6-bottle annual commitment. It's given us a great reason to make Paso an annual trip, and Ecluse is always one of our must-stop favorites. Since joining, the winery has gone through some exciting changes. They've built out a beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyard, and they were acquired by Thibido Winery. We were a little nervous about what that might mean for the brand we loved, but they've stayed true to keeping both labels separate and distinct -- and we've only benefited from it, since we now get to taste wines from both when we come for our annual pickup. We can't wait to spend more time on that terrace during our next visit. If you're putting together a Paso Robles wine itinerary, Ecluse deserves a spot on it.

We had a great experience at this winery. Getting there was a bit of an adventure, as the winery is…read moredefinitely off the beaten path. Our Uber driver got a little concerned when the GPS led us down a dirt road, but it did eventually bring us to the right place. One thing that could definitely be improved is the signage to the tasting room. Our driver dropped us off at the wine production building, and to no fault of his own, it wasn't very clear which building was which. Once we found the correct building, though, it was absolutely beautiful. The winery has a stunning new, modern concrete design, and the covered patio was clean and inviting with several tables set up for tastings. Inside, there was a tasting bar that led to their massive underground man-made cave, which was truly impressive. The cave featured wood and clay barrels, library wines, and private rooms for tastings and events. The natural décor and limestone walls were gorgeous and made the whole space feel incredibly special. Our wine server was very kind, knowledgeable, and had a lovely French accent. She did a fantastic job explaining the history of the family, how the winery came to be and grow, and walking us through each wine. We tasted 5 French-inspired wines and really enjoyed the lineup. The Rosé was a standout first pour, followed by several medium-bodied reds that were excellent. Overall, this was a great tasting experience and a beautiful winery worth visiting.
