She rushed through my service and was defensive when I asked her to fix the shape of one of my nails. First of all let me start off by saying this isn't your typical nail salon. I was skeptical since when I first made the appointment it wasn't extremely straightforward in the sense that I came in planning to get a gel manicure with nail extensions but I guess I booked a "hard gel manicure" with no extensions...so when I showed up expecting the nail tech to slap on some fake tips and do a gel manicure boyyyy was in for a surprise. They don't do DIP and they certainly don't do acrylics let alone fake tips. I had never heard of "HARD GEL" nor a "dry manicure"!!! But let me tell you after my service I won't ever set foot in another typical nail salon. The manicure consists of a dry technique where they lift the cuticle with zero water just a cuticle wooden stick they then e-file just barely the base of your nail-you know the one where all that crummy dead cuticle piles up. Personally I hate when nail techs use e-files as they usually practically shave off half of my nail bed leaving my nails thin and sensitive...but this place uses such a gentle technique that you are left wondering how in the hell they cleaned up your nails so beautifully. thereafter once your nail is perfectly prepped, they slap on the hard gel which is thicker in viscosity compared to regular gel polish, so they kind of build it on top of your nail. The end result is out of this world. It is literally like the photos you see on the Internet that going to a typical nail salon will never even come close to, I used to think that the photos I would see on the Internet were fake. I didn't realize that most of those photos are actually European manicures. The customer service is amazing they take super good care of your nail and the precision with which they work with is immaculate! Kali, did my nails she's relatively new but her work is amazing and if you don't mind her taking a little longer to work on your nails she's the girl for you! Honestly pretty disappointed. I came once and the technician did not do a great job, the paint started bubbling the next day. I informed them and they allowed me to come back and have an entire new manicure for $35, I said yes and I was pretty happy with the new manicure. It lasted me 5 weeks. I came in to get the same thing done again, and I was very specific. I did not want my nails shorter, and I did not want my real nails to be touched. Not only did she shorten them, but she filed the underside my nails with the drill, removing much of my real nail that I have worked very hard to grow out. Also, one nail was broken (my fault) and she did not repair the nail underneath, so now one week later it is cracked and about to break. And the same thing is happening on another nail because she filed my real nail underneath, causing it to be extremely thin and jagged. For $125 I expect a lot more. I appreciate that they fixed it the first time, but I'm really disappointed this time around. Also $100 for a manicure is insane. There is nothing special about this type of manicure, and you can get builder gel at any "Vietnamese" salon for $60-80 out the door. read more

I have been getting Russian manicures for the past 3 years. I could never find a nail salon that offers waterless pedicures locally until Level up opened. Booking is easy through their booking link found on their instagram. Their instagram is very eye catching as they offer many different designs that can be created and colors. Prices are reasonable which is a plus. The salon itself is cute and spacious. The pedicure chairs are very comfortable. Parking is free which is a big plus ! The staff however are very dry. Staff say little to nothing to you. During all my visits I never received a "hi, how are you ?" I'm only asked my name and time of appointment. While waiting for my appointment service I'm never offered to look at nail colors. Wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity for me to pick out my color ? I also have a hard time understanding how others customers get nail artwork and sparkly colors when that is not offered on the swatches nor do I get asked about nail artwork. During my entire appointment the entire staff seem very unorganized. The staff talks amongst themselves and always look for the owner any and all guidance during the services - mine and other customers. The checkout process is also never smooth. They do not have a designated person checking out so they have to shout out what you need to pay for. During my first visit my prepayment to hold my appointment was not accounted for and they wanted to charge me full price - just be mindful if you had to do a prepayment. I've gone to Level Up at least seven times at this point for both manicures and pedicures and I've had a great experience everytime. The precision and care the nail technicians put into their work is unmatched. During a previous appt, my technician noticed that I had Onycholysis. My nails were lifting up and I had visible white discoloration. Instead of continuing with my nail service, she recommended a treatment for my nails and suggested that I come back once my nails were healthier. While I was disappointed I couldn't get my nails done that day, I did appreciate that she put my nail health above profit as she could have easily ignored the issue and done my nails as other studios have.
