Last minute I decided to get a Pedicure and my usual salon was full as it was Friday. I made an appointment at Lafayette nails as the location is convenient for me. So, the older woman who did my nails digs into cuticles aggressively. She actually cut my left foot, 3rd toe. Mistakes happen but she did not apologize or even acknowledge the mistake, even when I said "OW!" and watched her disinfect the cut. Then, a mom and her 7 (?) year old come in. Grandma joins them after 15 minutes. Mom is clearly a "regular" as she greets the technicians warmly. Then she and Grandma, for the next half a hour, shout over the little girl who is sitting between them, planning *every* detail of their trip and Thanksgiving meal. Like they are the only ones in the shop. I understand the shop cannot control the behavior of their (entitled) customers. But this was a miserable 30 minutes. I left as fast as I could. Between that shoutfest and the cut on my foot, no way am I going back. The shop was clean. read more

I particularly appreciated their excellent treatment of a partially grown/ disfigured big toe nail that resulted from an inept self-pedicure during the pandemic. This little place rocks it! Unlike many walk in places, where you have maybe one or two technicians, they fill it up with 4 on average. So you're not usually more than 2 minutes away from jumping into a massage chair. Their pedi is typical, until you get to the massage. And let's face it, it's all about the massage. Nobody really likes having their pigs picked at, so the reward? The massage... and they're not in any hurry. My technician thankfully wore no latex gloves (thank you thank you thank you) and worked my legs, calves and feet like she was on a mission. Whatever her mission was, it worked! I was completely blissful when completed. Overall - about a 15 minute massage (I say about, as I was in a mildly euphoric passed out state). Now, here's why they don't get the 5 stars. I brought my son with me. He's a hockey player, so a good pedi every now and again is necessary for those pigs. They started his treatment the same time as mine, and were finished with him before my massage even started. He was about 15 minutes total. He got no color - just buff, so that accounts for about 10 minutes, but he got ripped off. And the worst part? His was also $22.00. So mine was a deal, and his was not. I would have happily ponied up the full price for him had they massaged him as long as they did me. I'd recommend if you have youngsters, go somewhere else where they pro-rate for the shorter service. If it's just you & your giant legs & pigs - go here! read more

It has almost been 1 year since I was at Lafayette Nails and had the painful experience of digging into my cuticles at the ends of my nail beds. My two nails and my skin surrounding have become worsening over these last 10 months. They are sore to the touch and it has handicapped me since. My middle and index are a constant red color, the nails have waved and have white punctures/ stripe like indentations and brown like substance in the corners. I have been to my Dr 3 times and over the months he had prescribed a topical antibiotic, antibiotic pills for 10 days and recently Clotrimazole and Betamethasone. Today I saw a local dermatologist in Lafayette at the request of my general Dr. She took a biopsy which will take several weeks for the results and did suggest from her professional knowledge that the cause of the constant inflammation was from the digging in to far to my cuticles. I will await to hear from the lab results. read more

And I've been coming here for years, and have brought many friends to this establishment. For a manicure and pedicure...it's only $32.00 together. And we all know some places like to charge anywhere from $25 - 50 for a spa pedicure nowadays. Now here's the best part....when they massage you, there's none of that $1 per minute bullshit. Only have one thing to say, my pedicure lasted for about one month... that alone made me a fan.

3 stars for a few reasons. I was a new customer yesterday and I made an appointment over the phone and was attended to as soon as I showed up. However, I found it odd that the man doing my nails didn't do a single thing to my nails/hands before he began my full set. Didn't ask me to wash my hands, no cuticle cutting, no anything. Just went straight to gluing my tips on. He also didn't put a towel or anything down on the nail station, and I could feel dust/dirt on the station with my fingers. A couple of the tips he applied don't fit my nails very well, which is frustrating. He really didn't take the time to measure them well either. I feel like some of the mistakes could have been fixed had he looked at my cuticles or filed my nails a bit. His gel work was also a little sloppy. Those of you who have had gel know you can't let the clear polish pool in the sides of your nails, or it'll cure hard and not look great. That happened on a few nails. Overall, they're decent, but I wouldn't go back. I'll go somewhere else for a fill or new set. P.S., $40 for a full set of nude coffin shaped nails. read more

They give the most amazing massages (feet, legs, arms, and hands) with their mani-pedis and take a lot of care when doing your nails. As I first walked through the doors I thought. . ."carpet? in a nail salon?" I was re-considering what other yelpers had raved about but thought what the heck and decided to proceed. So I picked out my magazine (which they had a wide selection of), and nail color (they have OPI, yay!) and sat down in the chair. The chair was comfortable enough, but didnt have the deep rolling balls I have grown accustomed to at other salons. Either way, I was ready for my pedicure . . and what a pedicure it was!! The nail technician really took the time to trim up my nails and get rid of the dead skin around the nail (gross I know, but my favorite part!), trimmed my nails nicely, and then gave what must have been a 5 minute massage on each foot! Overall my toes look great! I want to give this place 5 stars but can't for a couple of reasons. First, the carpet, yuck for me in a nail salon. Second, I don't think the buffer and nail file are 'out of the package' fresh upon each use ( I may bring in my own next time just to be safe). Third, there is no place to leave tip on the receipt if you are paying credit card! (If you happen to read this Nail Technician I am so sorry I didn't bring cash and promise to get you next time since I will be back!) So overall, yes, go, but bring cash and don't be initially grossed out by the carpet! read more

Literally THE worst mani pedi I have ever gotten. The employees were more concerned about watching the olympics than anything else. The woman I had spent a ridiculous time massaging my legs with exfoliant and lotion (no water) so it burned and hurt for hours after. My sister and mom had poor experiences too- they barely did any "pedi" care to my mom and basically massaged her calfs versus working on her feet. My sister got a gel mani and it looks like someone rubbed it off of some of her fingers, and she had polish on her skin, too. The woman that did my nails literally painted my fingers! Like a 5 year old. She did a really crappy job. There was nail polish all over my fingers/skin, and she barely used any polish on my actual nail. I told them I wasn't going to pay and they got out a brush and did a half effort job at trying to get it off. They didn't cut cuticles either - seriously it looks horrible! Their utensils did not look sanitized, either. I didn't see them wash out the basin from our feet. Also - I've been here before, over a year ago and they were better.
