I started coming here about 6 months ago based on the recommendation of my good friend that comes monthly. The place is located in a plaza across from Kaiser Walnut Creek. The salon is very clean and zen. I like it that the nail estheticians don't talk to each other loudly in a foreign lanuage while they do their work like some of the other nail salons I have been to. I normally get the gel manicure and regulare pedicure. I also like it that they separate the manicure station from the pedicure chairs. I have been to places where they do your hand and feet at the same time but It was very uncomfortable having to stretch my arms across. My only negative feedback is parking. You will have to pay for parking if you want to park in the plaza (meter). I sometimes park at Trader Joe's and walk over. Reservations can be made online or by calling the store. I had reached out to this shop about a question regarding if they can paint my daughters nails. I never got a response so I figured I'd walk in hoping to get lucky. Once I walked in I was asked how I can be helped and as soon as I mentioned my daughter's nails, they just said no, they don't paint kids nails. My daughter didn't want to look any further after that. Totally reasonable as to why, every shop has their rules but it was the way she just didn't want to attend to us by her response was just meh. Can't really speak on the vibe but once we walked in we didn't feel welcomed. Maybe just not a kid friendly spot. read more

I learned about this studio on recommendation from my esthetician. I have patronized this salon about four times so far. From the very first appointment I was impressed at how clean, organized, well-maintained, and quiet it is. Everyone uses gloves and I have yet to see even a bit of nail polish or dirt on the drying machines or the chairs. All the chairs swivel and are comfortable; no bulky massage chairs which don't always work anyway. The attention to detail is impeccable and the mani/pedis last. Unfortunately my nails grow like weeds so I have to get them done every two weeks. It is more expensive and the parking lot is metered but in the long run it's worth it. read more

This was my first time at Sis. I booked online which I love. Breda took her time and was very detailed. I'm very happy with the quality of work that I received. I like that I had the same person for my manicure and pedicure. I didn't feel rushed and the environment is very relaxing. I do wish they had a larger selection of colors. That said, she tested the color first to make sure it was what I actually wanted. I was impressed by my experience. The salon is very clean. I also liked the products they used, such as the salt scrub (it smelled so good). I'm hoping that my gel lasts a good long time and I will definitely be back to Sis nail and Lash Studio. Last note, as others mentioned too, it's metered parking in the lot. Walnut Creek does not mess around with their meters. This nail salon is great because they only do natural and gel mani/pedis. No chemical scents, the atmosphere is bright and airy. If you are lucky enough to book with Helen, you'll have a wonderfully done manicure. I've had plenty of positive experiences, unfortunately the last 2 appointments have been disappointing. I came in to get a pedicure a couple weeks ago, awful. My nail tech was Anna. I booked a mani/pedi for my mother today at 2:45pm. Mom was there at 2:30, her appointment lasted until 4:40pm! She had Anna as well, instead of a happy, efficient, relaxing experience. My mom left exhausted, with bloody cuticles. I don't think Sis Nails can deliver a superb pedicure. I also find that experiences are not consistent and appointments are difficult to schedule. There is a parking lot which is very convenient and it's located next to Trader Joe's. Many good reasons to try them. I simply have high expectations.... read more

this review is for customer service only. i made an appt online for 11am on Saturday and somehow overslept (to my surprise!). When I checked the time it was 10:57am and before i could call to reschedule i received a call from the nail salon. I apologized profusely for my mistake and asked if i could reschedule for noon and can leave right away. she said no. then i asked if there was any other time today and she said sorry no and hung up. when i went to their website to schedule another day, i saw openings all day including 11:45am and 12:00pm. While I understand that I am completely at fault for missing my original appt, it was disappointing that her reaction was to not reschedule me when they had availability. My favorite nail salon in the WC/Pleasant Hill area. Very clean, modern, comfortable and the technicians are great. They take great care trimming your cuticles, shaping nails, and the whole experience is relaxing and pleasant. Best of all, no one slaps on sticky smelly lotion that you have to wash off as soon as you get home. I like that you can schedule appointments online and use Apple Pay at the end (no digging through your purse for cash) and the polishes are all fresh and formaldehyde-free. Appointments for pedicures are plentiful, manicures take a little more scheduling time. Also, make sure to feed your meter! Parking is plentiful, but the strip mall owners decided to start charging and as soon as your time expires, there's a meter-person ready to dole out a ticket. read more

They are talented and will not do a mediocre job. Besides the fact that they could not get the shape done without it being uneven, the nails started peeling and breaking within a week. I normally do my nail service in SF salon and the mani lasts for 3 weeks without any breakage. Now I have to wait for my nails to grow out in order to have a normal looking manicure again I am very disappointed and will not be back read more

This place is one of a kind in our area. It has all the things other salons lack and is void of all things I stay clear from in other places. It's clean, calming, quiet, no bulky half working massage chairs instead nice modern seating, packaged tools that actually get cleaned, one use heel file, no dirty piled up messy chaotic carts or baskets of tools other salons technicians carry around... it's tasteful, has online appointments, staff speaks quietly and are properly polite. One star for ease of scheduling a same day appointment and no wait to be seated upon arrival. Second star for the good job of painting my nails. Third star for the simple and relaxing environment (no obnoxious TV, music, or loud chatter/talking). My cons are: -fastest pedicure I've ever had. From the time I sat down to when she started painting my nails it was 17 minutes. There wasn't much time allotment for a massage, pumice scrub, or sugar scrub. Maybe I just have really well kept nails? btw, I had a gel pedicure taken off in this pedicure service. I was hoping for a little more time to be put into the service details. - the "roughest" pedicure. My technician was not very gentle, and I flinched quite a few times with how painful she was pushing back my cuticles with the metal instrument. - it was a feel of, "complete this service and move on to the next client asap". LOVE this place. I've been here only twice for a pedicure w callus remover and both times I've had an excellent experience. I have rough feet, wear sandals and stand on my feet all day so coming across someone who is willing to put the work in for a proper pedicure isn't an easy find. Both times I've left Sis Nail I've felt as though my feel have never felt cleaner and more scrubbed/trimmed. My first pedicure lasted much longer than any other pedicure I've ever had. The place is clean which is another must for me. Love they use toxic free polish but I'd like more brighter pink and orange tones for summer. That's my only complaint. This was my second time here and I had a great experience both times! The studio is quiet, doesn't smell like nail polish, clean, and well-decorated. There are only 7 pedicure stations and 5 manicure stations. Both times I went there was only 1-2 other customers. There's a very calming, spa-like feel inside. The windows have a one-way decal so people in the shopping center can't see in, but you can see out so it doesn't feel stuffy. The manicure and pedicure themselves were great too! Both techs I've had were gentle, efficient but not rushed, and very precise. The polish looks great. I love that they go all the way to the edge of the nail, and there are no bubbles or streaks! They don't use a dremel to remove gel, which I like. The techs are super nice and friendly. They speak softly and make sure you're happy with your service. At other places I've been, the techs will gossip with each other but they don't do that here. They only take cash for tips but they have a chip reader and tap to pay. The only downside is that their books can fill up very fast, so you need to plan ahead, but I'll definitely be coming back! read more
