Their new flavor pistachio-raspberry
Nancy P.

I came here very often since I lived in the neighborhood. Every time there is a new flavor combination I try to give it a shot. The employees are always happy to help out if you are not sure what to choose from all the flavors this place is very nice and clean. Definitely recommend it if you're in the mood for something sweet

Cute Levain bakery thats never crowded. Plenty of seating available and they are always fully stocked with giant, sweet, delicious cookies. The staff was very friendly and we were able to have their full attention as there was nobody else in attendance! We got their seasonal cookies and they are all delicious. I usually only have 1/2 or 1/4 as they are very sweet and freeze them. When I bake them in the toaster oven, they are rejuvenated and as melty and delicious as when they were freshly baked! Can't wait to visit again. ++ lots of parking in the area!!

Heard so much about their famous chocolate chip walnut cookie and boy it did not disappoint. Massively oversized cookie loaded with walnuts and gooey chocolate chip. A bit steep at $5.75 per cookie but heck, not every day everyone gets to enjoy a calorie bomb cookie such as this. This Levain is bright, spacious and clean with a cheerful staff.

Dark Chocolate Chip Cookie Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf

So, I got the chocolate banana bread like I normally do and it was devine as per usual. I want to preface my review by saying I expect for things to be a little different because this is New York, there's a bigger audience and rush. My only gripe is that my hometown levain cuts the slices bigger and that makes me feel like I wasted money at this location. Alas, I also tried a cookie for the first time and while good, I will stick to my banana bread. The staff was patient despite the rush. There were a few different options that piqued my interest but it was so crowded, I went with something reliable.

No line when we were there. Can't go wrong with their chocolate chip walnut cookie (unless you're allergic). It was so crispy and soft and the chocolate was perfectly melty!

This is my first time coming to New York City, and I can see why there's a hype around Levain bakery. New York has some really great eats and I will say this bakery was one of my favorite bites during my trip. You can't go wrong with any of their cookies. I suggest you and your friends grab one each and try them all. The staff at this location are super cool and they play super dope music. Good vibes in a cookie shop- count me in! Shout out to Corey and Josh! You guys are the best!

First time NY, 2nd time I've been to Levain Bakery. Best cookies I've had all trip and I've had 5 different shops/ bakeries. Joshua was very attentive and helpful. Let us know in advance that there would be. A 6 minute wait for freshly baked white chocolate macadamia cookies. 100% chance of going to Levain any time I'm in NY.

I've been to a lot of bakeries as I have a sweet tooth. I really loved their cookies, business model and friendly customer service. They have several locations in New York and I found one in my visit to Williamsburg, Brooklyn today. Our server was really nice, explained all their cookies, gave some great recommendations and she was on the money. Their story is of two friends back in the 1990's who started baking bread for local restaurants from their bakery on West 74 street in Manhattan. The word "Levain" in French is leavened bread. They were also tri-athletes on the side, they made the chocolate chip walnut cookies to keep their energy up. They made a sample batch and I guess their customers loved them. The rest is history. They can ship anywhere, donate any unsold goods to local charities at the end of each day. They use fresh ingredients, the cookies weigh almost a half pound. They have many other baked goods, have drinks and it's a nice store to take a break at. We had the walnut chocolate chip cookie, the chocolate peanut butter cookie and the rocky road cookie. Everything was very clean, easy checkout and no waiting time when I was there. I highly recommend them and understand the hype.

Solid warm cookie that is HUGE, enough for 2 people. Cookie ($6): original chocolate chip with walnut They do offer whole loaves of bread for $6. Logistics: -no seating available -accepts cc

Clint is great, they are knowledgeable and fabulous to work with. Highly recommend! The seasonal cookies are always delicious

Cookies were really good. They were definitely huge, as advertised. They were kind of muffin-esque in my opinion. Very good still, but not necessarily the best cookie ever ever had. Definitely top 5 though! Wasn't disappointed and will try again. The atmosphere was quaint and the server was friendly. They specialize in more than cookies, but I can't really imagine trekking all the way to this location and not getting at least one. We got two!

Amazing cookies and amazing vibes! Kory was so nice! Had an amazing visit!!! Great hot chocolate! Crunchy on the outside and extra gooey on the inside!!

I keep on returning back for their flan. This time, I tried their fruit napoleon and it definitely hit the spot. Their cookies are also super fresh for gifting to folks or hosting. But this review is about something bigger than dessert. The strawberry cheesecake here reminds me of my mom. It was her favorite, and it was one of the last desserts I got to share with her. Anytime she wanted a sweet treat, that's what she asked for. Ordering it now keeps me connected to her. This past July, on her 3rd birthday in heaven, I placed an order to celebrate her. The menu only had cherry cheesecake that day, so I wrote a note explaining what the strawberry meant to me. The staff didn't just make it happen, they sent an extra slice of strawberry cheesecake on top of it. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. The people here have always been this kind. We love everyone who works there, and we're grateful for the small moments of care they've shown our family. Thank you for everything.

While the line was intimidating, it moved surprisingly quick: by the time we had pastries in hand, it was only 10:50 a.m. A 30 minutes wait for supposedly the best pastries in this part of town is not bad at all. Between my wife and I, we shared three items: an olive and grape focaccia slab, a corn cake, and a triple chocolate croissant. Of the items we tried, the corn cake was a sleeper hit and turned out to be my favorite. I loved the caramelized crispy edges of the corn cake. The corn cake had a wonderful sweetness to it that felt balanced and not overwhelming. The decadent triple chocolate croissant was buttery, airy and flakey. The focaccia was proofed perfectly, had a bubbly open crumb and each bite fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. The grape and olive flavor combination sounded strange but actually complemented each other nicely -- sweet and savory. I can absolutely understand the hype behind Radio Bakery and wouldn't mind waiting in line again for their delicious products.

Everything was perfect. Perfect techniques. Perfect flavors and such robust flavors and textures. I was so impressed. I wish I could eat more right now, everyday. The most tomatoey focaccia. The most vanilla and crispy yet soft flakey Kouign Ammon. The most garlicky knot. The most tart & chocolatie almond croissant. Can't say enough.

These are the things I've gotten: Bacon and Chive Focaccia (5/5): I would get this anytime they have it available because it's a warm focaccia with cheesy spread loaded with crispy bacon and sausage with chives. The bread is bouncy and the perfect amount of dough with the savory bacon and sausage. The chives gives it a freshness. Beware they sell this at 10am and runs out FAST. Like 30-1 hr fast and they don't make anymore for the rest of the day lol. Or at least I've went 3 times here and the 2 times they sold out by 11am and the one time I've gotten it, it was 10:15am. Beef and Arugula Focaccia (4.5/5): If you can't grab a bacon and chive focaccia then this is their next BEST one! It comes on a sea salt focaccia that's loaded with slices of thin beef, caramelized red onions, arugula, and slathered with a good horseradish mayo spread that coats the greens. This is delicious! Listen it didn't look appetizing but this one the taste over looks and it was one of the most flavorful sandwiches I had. The horse radish mayo gives it a nice punch! The beef was so tender. Turkey and Pesto Focaccia (4/5): This was loaded with turkey slices, slathered with a generous pesto spread, and had kale that seemed like it was seasoned lightly with olive oil or a tangy vinaigrette. This worked very well with the focaccia which soaked it all in and the kale was perfectly tender and balanced out the saltiness from pesto and turkey. Safe choice for sure! Corn Cake (5/5): You must get this pastry if it's your first time here or anytime you want a sweet treat. I honestly think this is their best dessert ever and would get it everytime. It's a moist, chewy on the inside brown butter corn cake that tastes like corn bread mixed with brownie texture if you get what I mean. The outside is crunchy while inside is perfectly chewy and moist. Love this! Vanilla Kouign Amann (4.5/5): They do their Kouign Amanns close to perfection here. Theirs comes with the infamous caramelized sugar bottom and the inside is nice and fluffy with layers of buttered croissant like bread. Well done! Double Chocolate Croissant (2/5): This was not good as when I bit into the pastry it was flat and soft. Not a good chewiness or flakiness at all.
