Came to try Pho Barr for the first time today…read more We ordered the Bò Lúc Lắc on the hot stone plate and the Bún Bò Huế. The Bún Bò Huế lacked the traditional rich flavor I'm used to, but it tasted clean and wasn't oily. It also didn't include the traditional pork blood, but mixing in shrimp paste, lime, fish sauce, and chili helped bring it closer to the authentic flavor. The food stayed hot in the metal bowl which was nice. The Bò Lúc Lắc arrived hot and sizzling, just as advertised. The beef was flavorful and cooked well. One thing to note is that it came with white rice rather than the fried rice shown on the menu description. The food was good, and I'd probably come back, but I'd try a different location because the service at this one was disappointing and ruined the experience. Andrew was very helpful, but the other two employees spent most of the time on their phones with their backs turned toward the dining room, making it difficult to get their attention. We had to get up ourselves to ask for a water refill. While in the middle of eating, one of the girls brought our check and said, "Whenever you're ready, no rush." It felt like we were being rushed out while I was still actively eating and it wasn't busy. What was especially disappointing was that she never asked how our food was or whether we wanted to order anything else before closing out our tab. I had planned on ordering a drink after my meal, but after that experience, I decided I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the service left a lot to be desired. Better hospitality would have made a big difference.

No one is rude. It just feels like they're focused on getting the food out rather than answering questions. For me, service is part of the overall experience. One example, the menu doesn't list ingredients for the shaking beef banh mi. I asked what was in it and got a pretty vague answer like "beef" and a few other items. When it came out, it had sour cream, which wasn't mentioned. I can eat it, just not my preference, so it would've been nice to know upfront. * Garlic wings - according to my wife, absolutely amazing * Pork & egg banh mi - really good and fully loaded * Egg rolls - good size and fried perfectly * Char siu pork stir fried noodles - nice kick from the black pepper * Shrimp fried rice - simple but flavorful * Shaking beef banh mi - different from what I usually get (with rice), still tasty overall The inside is tight and not really suited for big groups--more of a quick in-and-out kind of place.

The bread was overcooked and way too crispy. I could barely take a bite, and the crumbs were everywhere. The tofu was bland, but was well cooked, it would have done well with a sort of marinade. I would have preferred some pickled veggies or maybe even more mayonnaise for some taste. I have had some impressive tofu bahn mi before, and this would not be something I would order again. I can appreciate that there was at least an option, though. My friend got the combo plate with chicken, shrimp, and pork, and he thought it was a good taste with large portions. However, trying the pho would really help to make an accurate judgment of the quality of the food at the restaurant. I have friends who rave about the pho here, but the food seems pretty authentic, and I can believe that it is likely very good.

Crispy Flat Rice Noodles - The texture on this is absolutely PERFECT and the interior of it is nice and chewy. The sauce isn't typical of what I usually find, but it still tastes really good.
