Since everything in the store is pretty expensive, I don't really purchase much. I have other family members gift a meal or two for me which was eggplant parmesean and I have to say that it was pretty tasty. The portion size i think is generous as well though it did make me really sleepy and nearly almost put me in a coma Nonetheless, it was pretty delicious. They have a wide variety of other goods to choose from as well downstairs. When you take the escalator or elevator to the upper floors, there are dry goods such as breads, tomato sauces, cheeses, bread, and much much more. The wine wall was pretty spectacular as well amd they divided the wines by region. The other part of the store has a stand alone restaurant towards the back which was packed. They also had these stations woth an open concept kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking as well as the bartenders preparing drinks. That was fun to witness as I walked by. It was very hustle bustle and they had one lounge style sit down eatery with waiters and another casual restaurant in the back with waiters. I highly recommend it if you have not gone. The poor pastry staff is super patience with me and have to handle stupid question about the options for a husband that got got a super weak stomach and lactose intolerant (like you are in a freaking Italian grocery! Daily and oil and coffee is a must!). Another I was drooling on the cheese and meat section but cannot get any. The other staff is super patience to help me check out with a pint! The self checkout is easy to use even for a first timer. There were so much stuff I want to get but I got no room in my suitcase! Every time we go in, we're asked if we have a reservation (big sighs if we don't - even if the place is nearly empty). We don't often reserve here because there is a nonrefundable fee of I believe $10 per person, and we've never had to wait more than a few minutes. Plus, the street is full of great food options we could just move on to if needed. Now, why DO we go back: we really love the food & drinks because they're a bit more fancy than we're going to make at home. We've enjoyed everything we've ordered here, items are unique, and the presentation is just lovely on food and drinks. The place is absolutely adorable whether you sit inside or outside (one of our guests described it as American Girl Cafe for grown ups with the fancy chandeliers & gold trim) Servers are usually incredibly nice, only a couple times have they been the opposite. Saw someone mentioned only 2 savory options - that may have been only 2 they considered, but there are several more savory choices, including vegetarian. They also have seasonal specials, with lots of options kids will love, too. I get the shrimp crepe almost every time - the tastes are incredible and while it looks like a light serving, I can never finish the whole thing. I also tried an old fashioned - vintage steam powered car presentation and all. It was a delightful, well balanced version of that drink. This is a place we often bring guests visiting us in OP because it's unique. Some other favorites from the menu: chicken tinga crepe, shredded steak crepe, then Cajeta y Nuez, pistachio sweet crepes, mocktails, & cold coffee drinks. I remember the salad being very fresh and delicious with the right ratio of salad dressing to leaves. There's an actual iguana here, which is really funny. The staff was relatively nice, and we had a larger group and we were able to get seated right away. I got there early in the morning and when In walked in the front door the aromas hit me like I was on the the Left Bank in Paris. The selection of assorted pastries hit me like a Mack Truck. My mission on this morning was a whole sliced Sourdough bread, other "goodie's" and I finished with one of the best: Coffee Lattes with Espresso mixed with steamed milk and a thin layer of foam. Before even trying their baked goods, my coffee latte was one of the best I've ever had, and I've had them all over the world. It seems the menu changes daily. I purchased a savory crepe and it was fantastic! The mushrooms were large, wonderfully sautéed and had a nice garlicky sauce. The spinach was wilted but not soggy (as it should be) and the feta brought the whole thing together with a spicy kick. The crepe was of a good, eggy flavor and texture. It didn't fall apart as I ate it and really filled me up. I regret that I don't know where this magical cart does their regular business because I want to go back for more.
