Mushrooms filled with seafood absolutely out of this world
    Janette M.

Came back to a Lester's after a 25 year separation and we really missed everything about it!!! The looks, the service, the food the atmosphere we dreamed about it but the reality of returning was SO MUCH BETTER!!!! The new diner look is clean and inviting the menu has so much to offer!!! My son had eggs with 2 types of sausage and bacon and the pancakes were absolutely delicious!! Nothing remained on the plate. My husband listened to the waitress and had chopped sirloin and sweet potato and salad and cucumber salad. He must of mmmmm with every bite. Highly unusual for him but he truly loved his dinner. I had the seafood stuffed mushrooms which were an appetizer but the portion size was entree size I had to take half home. It was AWESOME!!! So glad we moved back 'home'!!!!!!

Stopped in for lunch and they were pack with brunch diners and to go orders. We had Gyro platter and buffalo chicken wrap. The gyro, salad and wrap were great. The fries were not the hottest and had a freezer burn taste. We will stop in again for breakfast that seems to be a highlight.

Twenty years since we last visited this location. Use to bring the family for breakfast or dinner. We did read that the place was remodeled a few years ago. Decided to "ROLL THE DICE" and go for late breakfast. I must say that upon pulling into the parking lot the memories started coming back. Good sign that the lot was pretty full. Pretty much the same as we remembered it inside. Our waitress, Drew, was very courteous and polite. I ordered the 2-2-2 breakfast with fluffy pancakes, two eggs, and two sausages that our waitress recommended. She was right! Not your small links, two nice size grilled sausages that were very tasty. My wife had the SPARTAN omelette which consisted of gyro meat and veggies with tzatziki sauce that was the best we've had in a longtime. Side of grits, ok, and rye toast. Coffee a bit weak for us, but drinkable. Highly recommend if in the area.

Lester's Diner is well known in South Florida, and you'll see why when you visit one of their locations. My go too is the location in Sunrise, located just minutes away from Sawgrass Mills Mall. Recently this location under went renovations, and its newly improve. The decor, the new booths and tables and chairs are beautiful. The staff here are all wonderful and very welcoming. The menu is large, and breakfast and lunch is served all day long. I've been coming to Lester's occasionally for 3 years now and have never had a bad meal. My favorite here is the Lester's 2-2-2, or a grill cheese with tomato's and bacon on Hallah bread.

We enjoyed breakfast at Lester's Diner. We arrived before a large breakfast crowd began to form (around 10:30 a.m.). With six people in our party, we were seated in a roomy booth. Service was great except our server had to keep going back for replacements or corrections that could have been done before she came out. The food was delicious. I ordered the 2x2x2, and the bacon was perfect, even though I didn't ask for it to be crispy. I thoroughly enjoyed the pancakes as well. The eggs (over hard) were okay. I enjoyed this breakfast treat on a Sunday morning.

Woke up craving a hearty breakfast that wouldn't empty my wallet, so we headed to Lester's Diner. We were seated right away, and our waitress promptly brought coffee while I ordered the Lester's Big Deal with a side of cheese grits. The food arrived quickly, everything tasted fantastic, and the portions were huge--I even have leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast. The server was attentive throughout. In this economy, feeding three people (with a 22% tip) for under $65 is an outstanding value. Highly recommend Lester's--we'll definitely be back!

Nice clean place . Staff is good . We ordered roast beef club sandwich, it came with coleslaw, didn't like the roast beef , couldn't chew it but the egg sandwich was very tasty . The rye bread was very fresh . The service was really good .

Lester's is your classic comfort diner. My family has been going there for years and I've never had a bad experience. They have a huge menu so you can always find something, and I've never been disappointed by a menu item. I've been to other diners, and I feel like Lester's food is better quality than most. I normally get the build-your-own-omelette, which you can't go wrong with. The staff is always super nice, and it has that classic diner feel with the option to sit at the counter and a display of pies as you walk in.

I like this place better for breakfast than lunch. The pic is showing corned beef hash and eggs, delicious and the service was great that morning, friendly and quick with the food. For lunch, no pic, a bit slower, a bit more of a harsh demeanor for our server and the Cuban sandwich I ordered was meh....kinda dry.

I cam here with a small group of 15 women and we had a place in the back to sit. The waitress was very helpful and very friendly. Unfortunately, because we had to speak to the whole group, we asked them to turn down the music, which they didn't. So we had to talk loudly and focusing on the one speaker, was difficult. They did include the tip into the bill because there were more than 6 of us - so I tried telling everyone so that they didn't double tip. It is a rather big diner which is goods so there is plenty of parking and plenty of space. My toasted blueberry muffin and coffee were good, by the way.

I haven't been to Lester's in probably 20 years and I the last few months I have been going about 2x a week. There is something for everyone and I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. After my visit last night I realized that I haven't written a review yet and I wanted to add my 2 cents. Although they do serve breakfast all day, breakfast is a smaller section later in the day. We have always enjoyed breakfast and honestly I was shocked that I enjoyed the nova platter more than I have at some bagel places. Yes, the bagels aren't the best I've ever had, but they weren't the worse either. The portion is perfect, even for my nova loving kid. Last night I had the grilled salmon sandwich. The salmon was cooked perfect and was delicious. It was bigger than the bread, and did I mention it was perfect? My daughter had the same thing and agreed. My husband had the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and quinoa. He said the chicken was a little tough, but had nice flavor and he enjoyed his sides and matzah ball soup. I have had the tuna (excellent), shrimp salad (excellent), eggs (yum), oatmeal (perfect), LEO (filled with lox). Stuffed mushrooms - Yum - and the left overs warmed up sooooo good! I had to deduct a star because I feel they nickel and dime a little. I ordered onion & lettuce (but no tomato) and there was $1 charge for the onion. My husband had gravy on his mashed potatoes and there was a $1 charge. The thing that bothers me is that we had no choice, because we weren't told about the charges. All in all, we will continue to go. Service typically is on point. Everyone is friendly.

We ordered the "Broward County Special" breakfast at Lesters west location for $10.59. Three eggs, bacon, homefries and toast. They also had monster chocolate cookies in the front display case. Best prices on breakfast around and everything was great tasting as usual.

This is not a place I normally would go to, but our friends wanted to go here. I also ate here about three weeks ago. I had had a chance to write this review until now. So I started with a bowl of matzoball soup. It wasn't bad. Then I had the baked Cod with a side of cucumber salad and quinoa. The was I little bit over cooked, but was still good. My wife was with me and had an omelet with feta cheese, mushrooms, and spinach along with an English muffin and fies. We also shared 3 A slice of key lime pie. If nothing else, that was good.

It's small, not fancy, but the food and service speak for themselves. Their breakfast menu is far from an IHOP or Denny's; it features real food, and in large portions. Loved that we were also able to order off of their lunch menu. The Ruben was delicious! The ambience of this diner is charming and laid-back, and with decor that includes art and photos of inspiring and humorous quotes. The staff are attentive, always checking on you. We waited about 10 mins to be seated, but our waitress was there in mins. We ordered the El Greco skillet, country fried steak and a side of biscuits and gravy. Delicious food and good portions. Nobody goes to Lester's Diner because they're chasing a Michelin star…read more You come because it's late. You come because you just got off a flight. You come because you're hungry. Or you come because places like this are becoming harder and harder to find. I came for all of the above. Lester's has been one of those dependable Fort Lauderdale diners for years, and I always seem to end up ordering one of two things: eggs with potatoes and a bagel, or a burger and fries. They've never let me down. Their spanakopita is also worth mentioning. Made the traditional Greek way, it's one of those hidden gems on the menu that doesn't get enough attention. This visit, though, I decided to color outside the lines. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette. The eggs were cooked just right. The peppers and cheese worked well together, but I thought the filling needed a little more seasoning. It wasn't bad by any stretch... just a bit bland for something inspired by a Philly cheesesteak. We also started with the onion rings, and those were excellent. Crispy on the outside, tender onions inside, and exactly what an onion ring should be. My wife went with the chocolate chip pancakes. Calling them "large" doesn't do them justice. These things arrived looking like they had their own ZIP code. They were fluffy, loaded with chocolate chips, and the kind of breakfast that makes you question whether lunch is even necessary. But the real star of the meal wasn't on the menu. It was our server, Olivia. Let's be honest. Waiting tables at a diner may not be anybody's dream job, but you never would've known it from the way she took care of us. She was friendly, helpful, attentive, and seemed to be everywhere she needed to be before we even realized we needed something. I'd come back just for her service. Five stars for Olivia. Four stars for Lester's. Sometimes a restaurant isn't about chasing perfection. It's about being exactly what you need it to be, exactly when you need it. Lester's has been doing that for a long time.

Going in, the interior was very clean and clearly gave off carribean vibes. The tables inside were jumping with other patrons, but we were seated rather quickly. For dinner, we ordered 1x griot dinner complete (meaning the platter; rice & peas, pikliz, plaintains), 1x lassot complete (fried turkey), and 2x pate codes (think of a loaded hatian empanada; we ordered 1x fish and 1x chicken). Moving on with our review; everything was excellent! The griot had a nice crispy exterior but was tenderly seasoned inside. The lassot was surprisingly moist and crispy too. To include, the contrast of the onions marinated with the green seasoning on top. The rice & peas were cooked perfectly as they were light as air and plantains were crispy & salted nicely too. The pate codes were huge in size and flavor as well! My preference would be the original over the fish, but they both packed a tangy, savory, and spicy punch! Moreover, we had the pleasure of meeting and being served by the owner, who was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we were highly satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend this spot for anybody who's looking for quality hatian cusuine. Final verdict 5/5!
