Located in Davie Square along University Drive, this Denny's is large with plenty of table seating. There was a quiet ambiance with only a few people dining in. I was quickly seated and my server was pleasant. I placed an order for a cold beverage and the red, white and berry pancakes which was served with my choice of scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a side of toast with jelly. The food arrived within a few minutes looking very appetizing. Even though I was starving, I took my time taking bites of each food item. The Blueberry pancakes was nice and fluffy, topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream; and the eggs, bacon, and hash browns were well prepared...added some salt and black pepper for some flavor. I ate until my stomach reached its full capacity. I asked the server for a take out container to carry my leftovers home. The waitress served me cold coffee argued with me how i don't know why its cold; the pot is hot, its fresh, 10 minutes if not longer for a fresh one. Could not take our order due to the fact we had to wait for the other table. Only 2 tables seated for food. 2 tables were leaving. Haven't been here in so long and good to know it's still as good as the early 2000s (iykyk) Went in for a quick lunch. Immediately got seated at a booth. It did take a few minutes for the server to come around so we made sure we ordered as soon as she came. Was in the mood for a nice sandwich and this one did not disappoint! I ordered the Cali club sandwich with seasoned fries for an upcharge. The sandwich is turkey breast, ham, bacon, Swiss cheese, avocado, a sundried tomato sauce with tomato and lettuce. The bread was nicely toasted and the tomatoes gave it a really good flavor. The seasoned fries were nice and crispy and tasted amazing with some ketchup. Overall a good place for a quick bite to eat. My husband and a friend of ours stopped here this past weekend at midnight following a concert festival since we were all starving! We were instantly greeted and led to a table by the hostess. Our waitress Ti, was extremely sweet and friendly. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and answered a few questions we had. I ordered the value burger with fries. Our food arrived pretty quick! The burger was thick and extremely juicy. I was impressed by the size of it. The fries were great, as they weren't greasy or soggy. They had a nice crunch to them and were seasoned perfectly. I devoured the whole thing, mainly because I was starving but I promise the meal was excellent. The resturant itself was nice, clean and quiet even though we weren't the only ones inside. It was a quick bite after a long day but definitely worth it. Went to To Denny's for my annual Birthday slam. The food was good and the service was wonderful. Not much you can say about Denny's, this particular location was clean and fresh. They have free WiFi and sort of a diner motif. The Birthday breakfast at Denny's has been around as long as they have been around and it is consistently good. Two eggs, two pancakes, two bacon or sausage. They will bring you sugar free syrup on request. Hard to discuss price, as my breakfast was free. The coffee was also very good $2.50 (bottomless). Since I was at a Denny's last (which was many years ago) they have implemented a Fit Fare Menu with healthier items. I ordered the Fit Fare Veggie Sizzlin' Skillet: Peppers, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, red potatoes topped with scrambled egg whites with spinach and grape tomatoes. I loved being able to get all those veggies for lunch. The dish was also very tasty! Husband ordered what he always orders at Denny's, "Moon Over My Hammy" ( a ham & egg sandwich) and was happy. The place was clean. Service could have been more attentive. I had to wait and chase our server down for a coffee refill. If I had the choice I would probably prefer a non chain diner, but it's nice to know Denny's has some options if needed. read more

Many of you may know about Denny's as an inexpensive food place, but what makes this Denny's extraordinary is there's a super woman server named Tammy. She is awesome. She can run the whole house, as she is like 10 servers in one. She can even remember orders for at least 10 people, repeat them back at you, and if you have any special substitutions or requests... she remembers that as well. I had looked up the menu online and wanted birthday pancakes (not my birthday) and the guy was very nice and open to serving them even tho they were not on the physical menu. Dear Denny's Customer Complaint Dept, I am a Christian Pastor and also a retired United States Army Veteran with 15 years of customer service training & experience. I want to preface this message by saying it's not about what you say, it's how you say it. At @4:30pm my friend and I showed up to eat at this Denny's address 5645 South University Drive zip 33328. The business was empty except for one customer that wanted to speak to us regarding car trouble. I was in the middle of fixing damage to the front of my friend's car that would have only taken about 15 minutes and then we were going to eat inside. The manager was a Caucasian female, brown hair, about 5'2", in her 30's. She came out was very rude to my friend and me even though we were going to eat and explains to her that we were just finishing and heading inside to eat. These were her words verbatim. 1. "Who's car is this"? 2. "This is a place of business, not a car wash". 3.My friend Ken asked her what her name position was she flanked she was the General Manager for that Denny's. Even after explaining that we are customers, she was still very rude. I went inside and asked for her name. The employees did not want to tell us her name. We waited to be seated for about 15 minutes and no one seated us also No employees and no manager was presently attending to the front. So I find it hard to believe that she had time to harass us but not even seat us, greet us at the door or offer us and customer service. I consider this a form of racism as I am a dark skin man with a long beard. I felt very targeted for this. Her behavior was excessive and very unnecessary. My friend and I have worked in customer service together as managers myself for 15 years and him for about 30 years. We train people in how to deliver customer service. So as two customer service professionals, managers ourselves and also trainers. Her behavior was horrible, detestable, and rude beyond belief! When she finally surfaced from the kitchen after waiting for long to be seated inside of an empty restaurant she removed her name tag which she had in prior but decided to remove it now all of a sudden when I asked to speak to the manager. I asked her what Denny's store number this and her name. She gave it to me in the rudest way as if to say "she in unto untouchable". I then clarified that we will no longer be eating at this Denny's or in the future, as my friend and I usually eat there when we play pool. She either needs to be retrained, demoted and or relocated to a part of the business where she doesn't interact with customers. After telling her that we will no longer be eating there her response was very rude as well, "I don't care, that's fine" while behaving very angry and aggressive. The worst part is, she is the one that chose to engage us when we did nothing wrong yet wasn't even present on the restaurant floor or had any employees watching the front. Leaving a business unattended like that was very shocking to me as a customer service professional. We would have been done making our repairs and been inside to eat in just a few minutes. The restaurant was empty as it seemed and the one person that was there was leaving. When I worked as a manager and there were no customers we would be improving the business, cleaning, and creating ways to make more money. Yet every one was in the back of the business and no employees present on the sales floor. As a manager, I have gone outside to help my customers with their car problems and also given them exceptional services regardless of they spending money or not. Yet this Manager (claims her name is Christina) didn't even offer us help, wanted to know if we were okay or if we had car trouble. She canes outside to be rude to us for no reason. Especially in the pandemic we are facing, business is hurting for sales yet my friend and I were about to spend $50 and she turned away a $50 sale because she was bored and wanted to be rude. My friend and are really good tippers based on service so this could have been a $50-$100 sale. The fact that she removed her name badge and was no were to be found speaks volumes of Denny's as a company and the people they hire to become managers.
