Dear Denny's Customer Complaint Dept, I am a Christian Pastor and also a retired United States Army Veteran with 15 years of customer service training & experience. I want to preface this message by saying it's not about what you say, it's how you say it. At @4:30pm my friend and I showed up to eat at this Denny's address 5645 South University Drive zip 33328. The business was empty except for one customer that wanted to speak to us regarding car trouble. I was in the middle of fixing damage to the front of my friend's car that would have only taken about 15 minutes and then we were going to eat inside. The manager was a Caucasian female, brown hair, about 5'2", in her 30's. She came out was very rude to my friend and me even though we were going to eat and explains to her that we were just finishing and heading inside to eat. These were her words verbatim. 1. "Who's car is this"? 2. "This is a place of business, not a car wash". 3.My friend Ken asked her what her name position was she flanked she was the General Manager for that Denny's. Even after explaining that we are customers, she was still very rude. I went inside and asked for her name. The employees did not want to tell us her name. We waited to be seated for about 15 minutes and no one seated us also No employees and no manager was presently attending to the front. So I find it hard to believe that she had time to harass us but not even seat us, greet us at the door or offer us and customer service. I consider this a form of racism as I am a dark skin man with a long beard. I felt very targeted for this. Her behavior was excessive and very unnecessary. My friend and I have worked in customer service together as managers myself for 15 years and him for about 30 years. We train people in how to deliver customer service. So as two customer service professionals, managers ourselves and also trainers. Her behavior was horrible, detestable, and rude beyond belief! When she finally surfaced from the kitchen after waiting for long to be seated inside of an empty restaurant she removed her name tag which she had in prior but decided to remove it now all of a sudden when I asked to speak to the manager. I asked her what Denny's store number this and her name. She gave it to me in the rudest way as if to say "she in unto untouchable". I then clarified that we will no longer be eating at this Denny's or in the future, as my friend and I usually eat there when we play pool. She either needs to be retrained, demoted and or relocated to a part of the business where she doesn't interact with customers. After telling her that we will no longer be eating there her response was very rude as well, "I don't care, that's fine" while behaving very angry and aggressive. The worst part is, she is the one that chose to engage us when we did nothing wrong yet wasn't even present on the restaurant floor or had any employees watching the front. Leaving a business unattended like that was very shocking to me as a customer service professional. We would have been done making our repairs and been inside to eat in just a few minutes. The restaurant was empty as it seemed and the one person that was there was leaving. When I worked as a manager and there were no customers we would be improving the business, cleaning, and creating ways to make more money. Yet every one was in the back of the business and no employees present on the sales floor. As a manager, I have gone outside to help my customers with their car problems and also given them exceptional services regardless of they spending money or not. Yet this Manager (claims her name is Christina) didn't even offer us help, wanted to know if we were okay or if we had car trouble. She canes outside to be rude to us for no reason. Especially in the pandemic we are facing, business is hurting for sales yet my friend and I were about to spend $50 and she turned away a $50 sale because she was bored and wanted to be rude. My friend and are really good tippers based on service so this could have been a $50-$100 sale. The fact that she removed her name badge and was no were to be found speaks volumes of Denny's as a company and the people they hire to become managers. I must bring this place up stars do to stellar customer service and the food was spot on!! Our server Dyvia was literally hustling all the am rush by herself! And--- with a SMILE!! Oh!! My day was truly set right from that! More servers came in, but it was just so enlightening to be greeted like we were with such enthusiasm! The others around her picked up her vibe when they came in and I saw team work at his finest! Yes, in Denny's! I shall be making sure this am crew today is duly recognized for their superior performances. Applause Denny's!! Thank you all! They have made new menu selections now. They listened or watched the receipts for how customers were customizing orders. Marketing is soooooo important to a company. It can make or break the establishment. Everything was clean and tidy. I love going and seeing the girls at this restaurant they are all very nice and the service is always outstanding. Today was not any different but I decided to write a review as I usually try to make it on the mornings Natasha works she's always very playful and makes the experience fun and treats everyone with respect. Today I came in a little after an older lady who just didn't have enough money to pay for her bill so Natasha took the money out of her pocket and made sure the customer had everything they needed. While the food and servers at this location are awesome, there is 1 staff member that is not. Freddy the "manager" is not. I have witnessed him inappropriately touch the servers and yell at them within ear shot of customers. He is disrespectful to customers while they are dinning. The 1 Star is only because of him. If you go to this location please make sure he is not scheduled for that day. He will make sure your dinning experience is not pleasant. read more

worst restaurant in broward county!! brenda the assistant manager (night time manager) smokes crack in the parking lot on break! she is missing her teeth and is very rude to employees. the food is trash, the only good thing on the menu is cheese sticks. the store itself is dirty and there are roaches in the kitchen. they mistreat employees, i've seen as a customer verbal abuse towards employees and as a close relative of a past employee, its worse behind the doors where customers cant see! smells like cigarettes and has a bunch of junkies working there, who are nodding off while taking orders or sitting around doing nothing at all! i was served by tammy and her fingernails were black!!!!!!!!!! if i could give negative stars i would! read more

We've been coming to this Denny's for years and have seen multiple people come and go. Some unfortunately have bad addictions as you can tell while others are just rude and lazy. When we go here and see Tammy working, we know our order will be right and if it's not she makes it right!! She is amazing at customer service, talking with customers all while not even needing to write our order down. She just gets it correct!! She is definitely a multi tasker and enjoys working with the public. We have been there before on the other hand and had a lady by the name of Flavor assist us and she was a bit rude and acted like everything was a big task. Like when you ask for a refill or napkins. I thought maybe she had a bad day and seen her after that where we basically seated ourselves and waited about 20 minutes and she never came to get even our drink order while there was only one gentleman she was assisting in the whole place! After waiting and not being acknowledged only to give us a menu, we got up and left. As we left there were 2 ladies (employees) who just got off work that were sitting and smoking outside which I feel looks bad for business, even if they were off. Went to this location at 5645 south university drive in davie, for the veterans day free breakfast and our server Lydia was a gem. She is a WOW of a server, my husband and I couldn't believe how many customers she was tending too and so pleasant to all of them. The couple in the booth next to ours also thought that her performance deserved a 5 star. The girl can move as fast as a locomotive. Let's hope management appreciates her work techniques. We will surely be back and look for Lydia's services again. Good job! read more

This is the only Dennys I dine in. The atmosphere is cozy, layed back, you can eat and talk with friends and have a great experience. Lydia is my person at this Dennys. She knows what I want, and provides fast, friendly service. I feel cared about by her, and I am treated with respect and I have no issues here. I look forward to my once a week outing to this Dennys. All other staff are professional and friendly too. Customer service is top notch and the food is too. I am a very happy recurring customer. I highly recommend this Dennys location. read more

Return visit for breakfast. New Denny's restaurants are a sure thing. Visiting an older one (like the one on SR7 in Margate, not so much. Came here today around 11am. we were seated quickly, the restaurant inside was very clean. the server came right up took our order for some coffees, after that he came back with them in a snap. We then placed our orders. I ordered the ultimate omelette, my fiance ordered the santa fe skillet. As we're used to normally waiting awhile for food in most places, we were pleasantly suprized that the food came out rather quickly and everything was fresh and hot. The waiter was also very attentive for anything else we might have needed. I have to say i was very suprized with this Denny's. Excellent service, clean eatting area, and the food came out fresh and super fast. I live in the hollywood/Pembroke pines area and will GLADLY take the extra few minute drive to come and eat here again on a weekend morning. This is definitely a 5 star dennys location. read more

I visited this Denny's with friends around midnight on a Friday night. It wasn't busy, our orders were simple and quick. Our server, Ruby was extremely rude. My bill came to $2.12 and I left a $1.00 tip (which is over 15%) and my friend's was $4.00 and she left a $1.00 tip to round it up to $5.00 which was still reasonable. She complained to us about our choice of tips and said we were "bad business" because she only made "2.00 on our table". Mind you, who's going to give a tip that's larger than the total of their bill especially when the service was nothing special? We won't be coming back to this location. read more

Great service, from the greeting when we walked in, until we paid and left. The restaurant was very clean, the waitress was attentive to us. We were greeted by the manager. We later saw another group with 3 kids, and the manager went out of his way to set up some tables to accommodate three baby chairs.. I usually don't mind Denny's because it's so cheap that I can get used to the food quality and service; however, this place is awful. The restaurant smells really bad and the food is even below Denny's quality. I ordered the classic cheeseburger and it wasn't great. There was so much grease on this burger that I couldn't believe they served it. My wife ordered the avocado chicken sandwich and she had to send it back because the avocado was rotten. The fries were not great and the celery had some red stuff on it which scared me. The waitress was ok although she was not that attentive and I had to ask a couple of times for mayo. Came in this morning with all of my barn kids, Dre was our server. When i say the service was A-plus i truly mean it. I had 7 kiddos with me and Dre was extremely attentive and constantly checking in on us. We were in and had our food within 15 minutes with a full restaurant!! Incredible, and even more so the GM came around and not only helped Dre but was constantly checking in on us. 5 stars is not enough. Thank you guys so much!!!! read more

My husband and I occasionally enjoy a breakfast here at this location. The food always comes out fresh and fast. The customer service is always up to par. This being a somewhat new Denny's you wouldn't expect the seating area and decor to look run down in the way it does. read more

Not impressed with this Dennys. Service was ok, Tammy was quick to fill our drinks etc, and checked on me to discover a wrong order. The food was sadly below Dennys standards, which is scary since this isn't near gourmet to begin with. The scrambled eggs came out looking like a baseball. Bacon was soggy. Went to have lunch at this location with my family Sunday afternoon. We where sitting there waiting for our food for over an hour and we where not even acknowledge once after our drink order. We call our server 3 times and we where ignored, we even told another server and also ignored, we ended up leaving there was no one on the floor not even a manager. This was another terrible experience for Sunday lunch. The last two visits here have been unacceptable. The service is horrible. The waitress is rude and acts like she hates her job. Everyone's reviews are pretty spot on. Basically the service sucks almost has bad as the food does. It is super slow and the food often looks thrown together. It is very clean!! No sticky-tables! Every time we go we ask for Pierre to be our waiter. He is very nice, respectful, and always has a smile on. This Denny's is the closest to my house - but oftentimes I will bypass this location for the one on University south of Taft - because this location is just too slow. Whenever I walk in, there is no one at the front for seating, and you have to wait a few minutes for anyone to notice you. Then there is a wait for the server to come to your table, a wait for the drinks, a wait to order, a wait for the food, a wait for the check, a wait to pay... eating here just takes way too long. Everyone is always extremely friendly and the food is always yummy, but I can't get over how long it takes to have a meal here. read more

We went here two days in straight and the reason why we came back because the service was good the first time... But horrible the second. The waiter was great but the cook was horrible with following directions. We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Omelet and specifically told the waiter two times no mushrooms. Christina was a great waitress. Fire the cook. Got my order wrong twice. I asked for French toast breakfast with extra French toast and extra bacon . First I got eggs, bacon and reg toast with my extra bacon. I told her what I wanted. And she brought out my French toast (not with extra slice) and not my extra bacon.
