We visited this small restaurant on the recommendation of a neighbor. Actually close to my home but had never visited it. I'm glad we did, very homey and no frills restaurant. Very clean and spacious. We went for a late breakfast, we were sat down quickly and provided with menus and drinks. There were a few tables occupied, seemed like regular customers by the way they were interacting with the server. We placed our order and the food came pretty quickly. Pierre the server was alone but had everything well under control. The menu is small with typical breakfast and lunch fare. I had the western omelette and my wife had 2 eggs with potatoes. Horrible! First of all, the menu showing on yelp is totally different than what I was given in the restaurant. They do not have soup among many other things. My husband ordered a dish with hash browns and the server came back and said they had none, only French fries. Bad sign meaning no fresh potatoes. I ordered an omelet with American cheese and after waiting15 minutes, they said they only had cheddar. Enough, I'm done. 3 strikes I'm out. We left. read more

First time visiting Kings Point Diner! I was really wanting to get take out breakfasts from Kendall Kafe, but they r closed on Mondays! So, I Googled someplace nearby & this diner popped up! I live in the neighborhood, pass it all the time, but never tried it! I ordered the veggie & the Mediterranean omelette, both with potatoes & and a side of corn beef hash! Both were tasty! They don't have hot chocolate to go because they don't use take out cups. I did call to place my order, but no one picked up the phone, so I drove over & was happy they were open! The restaurant itself is a pretty large space. There were only two tables with customers when I arrived at 9:15 a.m. It took about 15 minutes for the order to be fulfilled, so it was quick. The Lamb chops were scrumptious, flounder franchese seasoned so well/sweet potato and mash potatoes were fantastic-meals come with soup or salad and dessert (the carrot cake with pineapple is a must try!) So we're traveling in Plantation and tried to go to one place but it was a long wait. But luckily we found this place a few minutes away and tried it. Needless to say, the decor wasn't much, but I don't go to eat decor, I go for the food and I was not disappointed. The 2-2-2 were 2 eggs, 2 french toast and 2 sausage patties of which you can change the lineup. My daughter had an omelette of bacon and cheddar and the wife had a simple 2 egg breakfast. Definitely stay for the FREE coffee up until 2:00pm and try the daily specials which are worth checking out. Food was delicious and service was top notch. Our condo's water was shut off for the morning for annual maintenance, so we had to go out for breakfast! We went to the Kings Point Diner just after its opening at 9 a.m. It was the first time we'd been there in years (since they had started opening at 10:00), and it's a good thing we did. The place was cleaner than before, with a new, more spacious look inside. But what was really a great surprise was the food. I had the standard breakfast with a lower-than-ever single price for eggs, bacon, home fries, bagel and coffee. The food was served promptly, portions were huge (four strips of bacon and four eggs), and everything was much tastier than it ever had been at this restaurant. The server was helpful, patient, clean and attentive. The final bill was very low. My wife and I left very satisfied, more so than ever (and we had been there a lot). We will return for more breakfasts, and will again--for the first time since the pandemic--try their reasonably priced dinners. read more

Great food and service. Convenient location very close to Kings Point. Keep in mind that this restaurant is in Tamarac and it is very close to a senior community, so my boyfriend and I were literally the youngest people there. Don't let that deter you from trying it out though! They start off all their meals with complimentary Challah bread and butter and the bread was super soft. My boyfriend got a cheeseburger and I got spaghetti and meatballs. The cheeseburger was a full 8 oz and it was cooked perfectly. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted very homemade and good. My dinner was $11 I believe, and it included a soup or salad as a starter, and coffee and a dessert. We had the apple pie for dessert, which was good but it would've been better with a scoop of ice cream. I think my boyfriend's burger was $9. Prices were very reasonable and the food was really good. Rude owners and lady in front came out of restaurant yelling at me because they did not have to go cups. If you are going to get coffee or drinks to take out don't even bother. When leaving owner came out of restaurant yelling at me and my 97 year old grandma cause I didn't leave a tip. Never came over to ask how food was and just sat at the front register counting all the money from her receipts. Then to top it off some man came out and took a picture of my license plate. For a time last year this was an excellent diner. No more, no more, no more! First, the waitress coldly told me the item I like is no longer offered. Yes, I once enjoyed a great chicken parm "hero" (they called it a "sub") here for $9.99 & got hash brown substitutions for the Fries. That was good for a while until they got cute about 4 months ago & cut the sandwich in half by serving less chicken parm & a single kaiser roll instead of long Italian hero bread. Now the waitress tells me it is no longer on the menu. I asked if I could get a sweet potato (healthier) instead of the Fries. "No!" And we kind of felt like they wanted us to leave a little after 2 PM. Yeah, I know they close then but come on give us a little extra time while cleaning up. By the way, during a recent trip back to NYC I got a meatball parmigiana hero at Bleecker Street Pizzeria. It was huge, bigger than Kings Point's largest sub ever was even a few year ago and amazing best NYC bread - and get this - only $10.95, even with sky high NYC rents. What am I missing folks? Why do the local yocals get so cheap! What kind of kakafka diner is this? They open at 9:30 AM, not available for early breakfast which is a big meal in Broward County, and then they close at 2 PM until dinner time. What is this, Spain with a siesta, eh? We are not asking for them to be a 24 / 7 hour diner like I used to enjoy in NYC but how about 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM (kitchen close) & let the last customers sit until 8:30 PM while they clean up? How about being a little more flexible on substitutions? How about expanding on food selections or at least retaining the more popular items rather than cutting back? How about listening to the customers instead of getting so damn defensive? Even Tedesco's next door beats this dive! I rate my company today 5 out of 5 stars even if we have very different politics. I rate the restaurant itself a negative 4 stars so the average comes to a 1 star review. I won't be back to the Kings Point Diner and when I organize group luncheons & reunions it will not be a consideration. Do I have anything good to say about them? So either he is the owner, or he is not. Draw your own conclusion. The service was okay. The food was plentiful, but mediocre. Went based on rating 4 months ago. My wife and I just went for lunch. I had the Gyro platter and her the Turkey Ruben. Halfway through my wife's Ruben half she found a clear plastic strip in her sandwich. The waiter (who I might add was only one and not attentive) was called over and I gave it to him. Nothing was said and the lady who spoke broken English doing cashier said "what plastic, I did not see plastic ". Listen I did not want them to give me anything, but they refused to acknowledge it. In support of our local business (Kings' Point Diner), I have been ordering 2 meals from them each week for take out since this isolation is happening. Their menu is one price for a complete meal. Soup or salad, main dish and veggies-pasta-potato, dessert, and beverage. Using take-out they do not give you a beverage (no problem). But tonite was a different event. I ordered over the phone as usual, but when I got there for our meals I was told -NO SALAD. I was a bit shocked since we watch our meals carefully and count carbs/calories, etc. So I politely asked for a discount on the meal since they were not able to provide all that I was supposed to get. The owners (man and woman) run the place and she was at the cash register while he cooks in the back. Evidently she was angry at my request and made a show of it, complaining that I should be ashamed of myself. Well I still needed the meal to take home and I said fine, I'll take it and pay the full price, figuring I would call home and have my spouse make a salad for us. With that the husband (I assume), comes running out of the kitchen and tells me that I'm complaining over 2 cents worth of salad (His exact words). I said OK, never mind just give me the rest of the meal and I will pay for it. He said "we don't want your kind of business" and refused service at all, and told me to leave.... Needless to say, I won't try to go back ever. I guess this is what small businesses go during a lock-down to encourage customers-- NOT. read more

Place is clean the help accommodating what more is there to say. The dinner meals come with soup or salad, main entree with two sides and then beverage and dessert. So I order some soup once in a while from there, go down there to pick it up and after I was given the soup, the waitress say's to me, can I ask you a question, I said yes, she replied why when you come in here to pick something up why I don't tip her. In shock, my answer was well I wasn't sitting at a table that you were waiting on me, I go into the all sorts of places to pick thing up and never tipped them. What nerve she had.
