I liked this shining diner. The food was good and I specially loved the desserts. They have a counter with them displayed and they all looked yummy. The Baklava and apple pie caught my eye. I ended up getting them to go. The apple pie was delish. It had a perfect buttery, flaky crust and it tasted great. The Baklava was very good and a good size. I ordered break. I was happy to find that they serve breakfast all day. They also have other menus. Breakfast was great. I was happy. The corned beef hash was good. I would order it again. The service was great. The staff was friendly. The food service was fast. It was a good experience for me.

The greco had soft fluffy eggs, nice contrast of flavor from the sauteed veggies, crispy potatoes, and savory browned pieces of gyro!

Given my family's past experiences with the Lester's in Margate, the chain has become a less than desired destination for us in recent years. However, given there wasn't too much around the area for brunch today; my sister and I decided to try our luck at the one I pompano! Going in, the place was jumping, but we were seated right away. Today, we ordered 1x Leo (scrambled eggs with chopped lox and home fries) and 1x Greco (eggs with potatoes, peppers, tomato, feta, gyro, and taztiki). Moving on with my review, it's been sometime since I've been to a Diner and especially one that was this good! The Leo had soft fluffy eggs and plenty of chunks of cooked lox; the home fries were also nicely crisped as well! The greco had soft fluffy eggs, nice contrast of flavor from the sauteed veggies, crispy potatoes and savory browned pieces of gyro! Only small critique is that the bagel that came with my sis meal was kinda doughy, but shouldn't have crazy expectations when Lester's is more well known for its breakfast and lunch/dinner options. Overall, both the service and food was very good. I'm glad I found this location as we'd certainly come back here again and for that reason; my final verdict is a 4/5!

9/17/24- wow food was great I had the Monte Cristi. Ham, Turkey off the bird and cheeses. On French toast . Sweet and savory. Big piece came with a small ramekin with potato salad. G had the 222, 2 eggs, sausage and pancakes. A side of rye toast extra $2.59 really ?

Hairball in waffle. Have been basically a daily customer for 10 years despite consistent issues -- only because it's a childhood tradition with my son. Have tried many times to kindly explain the issues with the food, which are simple: the waffles are often burnt. And now, a literal ball of hair in the food. When they've tried to compensate with a free meal, I've almost always asked that, instead, I'd just really appreciate if they could try to fix the issue as it happens at least 1-2x per week. They are generally kind but nothing changes. Things came to a head this week -- and I feel they have serious problems in their kitchen -- look at the photo below. It's like the waffle fell and got smushed on the floor or something and picked up a hairball. Worse yet, when I called, assistant manager said that it couldn't be them because ***they have had so many issues in the past specifically with waffles, that they have a better process in place now.*** So, she said they have had so many issues, there is no way there is an issue now, which is insane logic. Even though I made it absolutely clear that I did not want ANY kind of refund, and was letting them know because it was so disgusting, the assistant manager implied that either I was at fault for the issue. The general manager called. I called her back, and she never got back to me. I short, Pompano Beach should just be aware of how this place treats long-term customers. During the slow season, all of us regulars keep the local businesses afloat. Lester's only acts this way because of the influx of people in the area right now. For us locals, there are a lot of other great options in the area -- Yellow Yolk, Hen & Hog, Athena, and Nelson's are all other well-reviewed diners.

Was in Ft Lauderdale for the Air show and decided to come here for breakfast. Restaurant was busy on a Sunday, but we were seated quickly. Had been here several times for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. Ordered the french toast combo with scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage. Food came out in short order and was delicious. Coffee is hot and was very good. Service is quick and efficient Place is clean. Plenty of parking in their lot. They have a large typical NY diner menu. The bakery case up front looks amazing.

    Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict

Lesters has been around for as long as I can remember. The food is good and consistent. They have several locations and the State Rd 84 location is open 24 hours. The downside at this location: parking could be a little tough and they are not open past 4pm every day. I have had many meals here and the other locations and never disappointed. Breakfast has been my favorite and this morning they hit it out of the park with the corned beed hash Benedict. Sooo good...I had to write a review! Prices are in line with other local breakfast spots and it is a treat when you don't need to wait for a table which never happens during the season. They have a nice enclosed patio area which we really enjoy. I know I will be returning for another Benedict in the near future.

Good Solid food. Omelets were fluffy -and they have real super flavorful rye bread. Pickles are also solid.

Some of your staff and regulars were loudly laughing and bragging about their visit to Alligator Alcatraz. They talked about buying merch. About how "wild" it was. About how fun it all seemed. Let me be absolutely clear: Alligator Alcatraz is a concentration camp. It's not quirky. It's not controversial. It's a state-sanctioned site of cruelty and abuse, built on stolen land in the Everglades to cage human beings--many of whom are simply seeking safety. People inside are denied basic hygiene. They're being bitten by bugs in tents with no protection. They're served food with maggots. Lights are kept on 24/7 to break them. And your staff? Were laughing. About that. In public. So no--I won't be back. Not unless there's a clear, public statement from ownership condemning that behavior and confirming that the employee involved no longer works there. Because once a restaurant becomes a place where cruelty is background noise? The meal is over.

You might want to put on the GPS when coming here for the first time because you might think that you're in the wrong place. But trust your GPS and let it take you right to the entrance. There is plenty of parking no matter if you have a Fiat or a semi truck. The structure is 100 years old, and the world around it has changed over the decades. It's fun to see a little piece of Pompano history. Inside, the restaurant is very charming in that well loved and worn kind of way. It was decorated cutely for Christmas. We were warmly greeted and provided with our choice of where we wanted to sit. The menu is full of lots of breakfast items, but be sure to check the specials board as there were lots of items on there that were not on the regular menu. The food came out quickly and was warm. I especially like the potatoes. I wish that the grits were smoother. Our server was absolutely delightful and kept our coffees full. Dimitri's is a nice spot and I'll visit again.

So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!
