Brought in vacuum for repair, staff said I needed a total rebuild for $250 without looking at it. I left vacuum for a quote and didn't hear back for 4 days. When I called for status, the employee complained about being understaffed and couldn't care less that my pool wasn't running for 4 days. They called back in 15 minutes and said it needed a total rebuild. I picked up the vacuum, took it to another Leslie's. They called me within an hour with a quote and had it fixed same day for $80. This Leslie's used to be good but now doesn't care if customers are waiting for 20 minutes while a staff member is in the back who won't come to the front to help customers. read more

While they offer free water testing, I feel their training of employees is hit & miss. I've gone into this location to get water testing and to purchase pool startup chems after a drain/refill and got conflicting responses and opinions from numerous employees, to the point I don't trust them and cannot recommend this location. Point of reference: I drain my pool every 3 years and clean my filters every 6 months, replacing them every 2 years. read more

She's down right rude & insulting and begins every interaction with a serious nasty attitude problem. It's been 5 years now since my review, and I still go to this Leslie's a couple of times a month. They just installed a new Intelliflo pump after my old one died after 10 years (almost to the day...) I continue to hold their service guys in high regard. Chris put in my new pump in about 2 hours and hooked up everything with my solar controller, etc. Their installation people seem much more competent than some of the ones I've from other companies. The one beef I have is they seem to be periodically out of muriatic acid, which I go through a lot of since I have a salt pool chlorine generator. I sometimes have to go to a different (less busy?) location to buy acid, but otherwise they have a good selection. I had to replace the gasket on my pool light, and they actually had the gaskets in stock! read more

I brought in a pool vacuum and asked to have the wings and shoes replaced. This was at opening on a Sunday. On Tuesday, I received a phone message saying the vacuum was too old to repair and I'd need to replace it. I called the next day and said I'd be by to pick up the old unit. When I tried to pick up the unit on Friday, they said it was in pieces and not ready. I went back on Saturday to pick it up and it was still in pieces. For the first time, the worker told me the vacuum cracked and broke when they opened it up to inspect it. They didn't offer any type of replacement or credit despite causing the damage. There should have been no reason to open the unit to replace the wings and shoes. read more

Unfriendly employees. This Leslie's at 10515 N Oracle is close to my house and I have been there at least 4 times. The First time the young man tried to assist, but was not very knowledgeable, so he asked his grumpy manager, that's ok. The last few times it was Andrew, the sales clerk, who has zero personality and it was an effort for him to be bothered ringing up a sale, I still can deal with that. However, the last straw, was when we came to have our water tested. The manager, a mid aged lady with grey hair was just downright cantankerous. She did however, at least give us a card of a pool expert not officiated with Leslie's that could assist with the pool water needs we have. I wanted to give Leslie's another chance in Tuscon, because we were screwed big time on a pool pump installation from the Leslie's in Sherman Oaks CA. I won't go to this particular Leslie's, and try the other one just south of this location and hope I have better results. Poolwerx next to Trader Joe's is excellent, but their prices on Chemicals is a little bit higher. read more

My parents have had a problem with algae the past few weeks. They took the water to their regular pool store. They said to add algaecide, liquid cholrine and run the pump constantly; that eventually the water would clear up, otherwise they'd have to drain the pool. The story didn't sound right, so I took the water to Leslie's in Oro Valley and testing it, found it was high in CYA and phosphates. She sold me a couple of products and water cleared up in a couple of days! Smart, friendly staff and helpful. read more

My Hayward pool pump is not working. I took to Leslie's from which I have bought thousands of dollars of equipment and chemicals over the past 16 years. I asked if they could test the pool pump. The young lady at the front said she didn't think so. She asked the older woman in the back who said, "No". I said okay. She then asked what type of pump it is. I said Hayward. She then said very rudely, "we are counting inventory". I told her that was "fine, don't test it. You should do your inventory off hours or close". I have worked in businesses and have done inventory for 35 years. Inventory counting sucks but is no excuse to be rude to customers. I have bought from Leslie's for the last time. read more

I've gone here for many years and received good service and advice. However last Friday I took in my pool cleaner which no longer worked for an assessment. Later that day they said it could be refurbished the next day for $172. I said please do it. I called late the next day and asked if I could pick it up. I was told a part had to be shipped from another store and it would be ready on Wednesday. I was glad I called and didn't waste a trip. Too bad they didn't call me. On Wednesday I called and was told it would be ready on Thursday. On Thursday I called and was told it would be ready on Friday. The part still had not arrived. I was told I would be called when it was ready. On Friday I called and was told the part still had not arrived. I went through my story with her, and she offered to check on it's status. She came back and said it was now done. The charge was now $196. An increase of $24. I picked it up later that day and the pool cleaner worked great. But what a hassle the process was. read more

Let's just say that these guys think they are the only ones who can help you with your pool needs. This is reflected in the OUTRAGEOUS MARKUP they are apparently successful in extracting from their customers. They will check your water for free, but that's just the bait to get you in where they will attempt to charge you 2 to 3 times what anything else in the store should cost. I recently was going to purchase a new set of filter cartridges and decided to "buy local" or at least give it a shot. I rationalized that I'd be willing to pay a little more to have the parts in hand. I knew my Pleatco filters cost about $160 for a pack of 4 online via Amazon prime. Leslies was charging over $100 each for the same filters! Sorry but there's no way I'll pay that kind of premium. read more

I needed to get our Hayward pool chlorinators checked out as the home screen reading were saying It was not functioning. I knew the water was good and chlorine level was ok in spite of the reading. I called several Leslie pool centers and found that the Pusch Ridge store in Oro Valley had the most reliable system. (10515 N Oracle Rd Oro Valley, AZ 85737 Phone number(520) 219-1353) Lisa checked out the cell and it worked perfectly. Lisa was super knowledgeable and had several suggestions regarding the system pool sensors. She saved me a potential $500 + expense where other pool companies would have just said to replace the cell without testing. I would highly recommend Lisa when / if you have questions about your pool systems! read more

Wonderful!! Friendly, knowledgeable people at this Leslies. The manager is so good at analyzing pool problems. She is REALLY knowledgeable and doesn't sugar coat or try to sell you stuff you don't need. She actually refused to sell me Hardness Plus the first time I came in to the store!!! :-) Then explained about the calcium hardness that is one of the challenges that Arizona pool owners have to deal with and my level 175 was fine and the hardness will go up soon enough!! It's very different from our old pool in Michigan! The whole staff is really friendly and the service I get everytime I go in for anything is excellent. I enjoy going there to see Lisa and Justin and I never get out of there without spending at LEAST $100!!! So I'm sure they like seeing me too! I am writing this review to contradict a mean spirited review I saw posted here yesterday by b.a. The sign said 10! The internet said 9. Umm Sign in front of your face =reality. Internet=behind on data entry??? Words on a page? Geez. Why would you wait for 45 minutes just to come in and order something from Amazon?? You just sound spiteful and spoiled to me and leaving reviews that could affect someones job is just obnoxious. Shame on you. I've been going to Leslies in Oro Valley for the past 8 years with no issues and always good service. On 8/30, I went back to return a bottle of Fountec ($17.49) which was purchased on 8/25, so I was well within the 14 day return period. No big deal, it just didn't work as well as it should have. I had a receipt and was waited on by Scott. He didn't say hello, goodbye or we don't need your business. Just acted a little immature with a look that I was somehow being less than honest or wasting his time. Customers should be treated as well when they ask for a simple refund or make a purchase. Store is always very clean and organized. The manager Lisa is extremely knowledgeable with all area's of pool maintenance. Recently had a issue with my frogger and pop-ups. Leslie technician was on time and very polite. He replaced my frogger and the complete gear assembly for my pop-ups in less than an hour. Cleaned up everything as if he wasn't even there. Would recommend and have many times this store for all your pool needs. Best part is that I like more than anything is that they are honest and will not shove chemicals at you just to make a sale. read more

I ordered two items for same-day in-store pickup. I was unable, for reasons no one could tell me, to pick up these items in the store, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE IN STOCK. As of 24 hours later, I have not yet received notification that my items are ready for pick-up. I ordered these items online as I had a $5 discount coupon from Leslie's and a $15 credit to use from Paypal. The items are paid for, yet I STILL do not have them in my hands. If same day pickup is not an option, why is it offered on their website? One of the CS people I spoke to yesterday said it would take 7-10 days to ship the items to the store and had no answer when I told her that the items were in stock at the store. I confirmed this by going to the store and seeing the items on the shelf with my own eyes. The poor guy in the store told me that the order had not been forwarded to them for fulfillment after more than 8 hours. Even though the store is only 4 miles from my home, I likely will not be doing any more business with Leslie's going forward. This is the WORST online customer experience I have ever had. Yelp and other sites show them opening at 9:00 on Sunday but the stores posted hours say 10:00 in the door. I got there at 9:15 and watched the manager doing nothing for 45 minutes - she refused to open and start working before 10:00. I went in, took a photo of the pool vacuum I was going to buy and ordered it on Amazon before leaving the store.
