Bret and crew are highly recommended. Our spa motor went out and the unit is encased in our patio block. The spa was dominant for over a year as we contacted four different repair companies that either came out (and charged us) to tell us that it was too hard - others looked at the pictures and declined the work. Recommended on social media, Bret showed up and said "we can get this done" and physically lifted the spa out of the block and fixed it. First time we had a problem-solver on the job. Bret is top notch! He is honest, reliable, personable, professional, and above all, knowledgeable. He built the baja spas years ago so he knows the quality that was put into these hot tubs, and is prepared to give a diagnosis as well as the remedy, ability to get it right! Other companies are interested in getting the highest payment upfront because they may not see you again. Not Kutz! He treats you fairly, explains clearly and knows if he does well, you'll call back should the need arise. He replaced jets, did electrical work, and then my heating element went out. He gave me a choice of replacing the element or the heating tube. I chose the element (cheaper). He did but in removing an old sticker, we discovered a pinhole in the 15year-old tube! I have an older Baja Spa whose heater went bad. I naturally went online only to find out that Baja is out of business. Quite by accident, I stumbled on Kutz Spa Service. After calling them I found out that Bret had worked for Baja for some 34 years. When it went out of business, he and his wife, Jill, purchased Baja's service building and parts inventory. After describing my problem, he gave me instructions on how to remove the heating unit, thereby saving me a service call. I sent it to him. The same day he received it, he called me back with a diagnosis. It wasn't the heating element after all, it was a less expensive pressure switch. I opted to have him replace both by way of preventative maintenance - and they are shipping the unit back to me the day after they received it! I got telephone calls, information and updates from an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful couple. Their honesty and intent to do the right thing shines through their delightful contacts. My hot tub breaker tripped and would not reset. I called Kutz Spa Service based on reviews. The owner, Bret, was able to come out next day. He found a faulty heating element and got it replaced and functional quickly. He did diagnosis, repair, and everything back together and working in about 1 1/2 hours. The price for parts and labor was $227 which I felt was a good price. Bret is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy and I will definitely call him next time I have an issue. read more
