One Star is Too Generous -- A Year-Long Nightmare with Lowe's Patio Door Installation…read more If you're thinking of using Lowe's for patio door installation, run in the other direction. What should've been a simple project turned into a year-long disaster filled with incompetence, miscommunication, and total lack of accountability. It took over 12 months, 100+ emails, and dozens of phone calls to finally get the job barely finished. The original installation was botched. No one followed up. Every time I called, I was passed around like a hot potato between departments that had no idea what was going on. They promised callbacks that never came. They scheduled visits that were never confirmed or simply didn't happen. I had to chase them down constantly just to get basic updates. What's worse? Absolutely no compensation for the countless hours I wasted, the stress, or the inconvenience of having a wrecked install, allowing elements inside, losing heat/AC and being an eyesore in my home for months. They damaged my walls, used high expansion foam and smeared the trim and new door itself, used a 2x4 to cover up the hole above the door because the door was measured wrong- that 2x4 eventually fell and almost struck me coming in the house. Lowe's did nothing to make it right on their own accord. Zero accountability. Zero urgency. Zero customer service. I had to fight and claw my way to get the slowest of responses. Every phone call was a shouting match, every email was condescending and had no concrete answers. It took over 14 months to get the situation fixed, they originally wanted to refund me and call it even. EVEN? the door needed to be replaced after the poor install job and it wasn't the right size! They wanted to get rid of me at no cost to them. They eventually fixed it 14months later and they offered me $150 for my trouble. $150 for 14months of headache and heating and cooling bills that were out of control due to the air gaps and energy loss. That compensation of $150 came out to $10 for every month I had to deal with the door and them. UNREAL. Bottom line: They originally said they would fix the wall and then they realized it was too much work and took back their offer to fix it. I would never recommend Lowe's installation services to anyone. Save yourself the stress. Go literally anywhere else. The safety of a big box company being reputable is a myth, the bigger the store the less they care about a single customer's issue.

It took me two weeks to get my pool back after I got a false reading from their employees, and added chemical i didn't need. They also don't clean out. The syringe used to test the water. This contaminates your test. Very friendly and near by. Just wish they were better with testing.

Martin at this location is very friendly, knowledgeable, and has helped us with all our issues with our pool. This year was extremely difficult and was told we had to drain our pool. Not once, but twice. We werent happy and was questioning this. But, it solve our problems. Martin ensured us it would work, He didnt try to sell us a bunch of chemicals to try to correct it. Came home to a green pool, thought I could fix it myself. I was wrong, gave up after a week. Finally, went into Leslie's and spoke with Martin. He went above and beyond the call of duty. This was our first year with the pool, so he explained a daily/weekly routine. Helped our pool go from green to clear in just a couple visits. Only 1 left that lasting impression on me and my family and that one person was Joe from Mud Turtle. Joe came with his knowledge and answered all of our technical/pool questions but when we invited Joe into our home he wanted to get know my family and that meant something to us. He wasn't just there for sale but truly wanted to get to know us as people and my children. That added a personal touch that we felt was special. At no time was he pushy or attempting to over commit on anything. After spending over an hour with Joe our decision was clear. The owner John came to our house to do a survey and I could just tell this guy knew what he was doing. He explained the terrain we were on, what engineering would say, and what the Village would expect, he was spot on. He made is recommendations and gave his opinion on pool placement, retaining wall, and deck space. After meeting with Joe and John we felt extremely comfortable knowing that we were in good hands and would be well taken care of. Emily drew up a beautiful 3D drawing of our property with the pool, all the features, firepit, patio design etc. I did tinker with the design up to the day we were ready to start construction and the team, especially Emily, was very patient with me as I made some changes throughout and even a few during construction. During the waiting period I would stop in randomly and just hang out in their shop and shoot the sh*t. I'd spend an hour or more at times and the team was always receptive and inviting when I stopped by. I spoke with other customers and listened to stories of previous projects while getting a free education on pool care and pool operation. This just made me feel even more positive in the decision we made as I continued to build rapport with everyone and got to know everyone on a more personal level. Even met some new neighbors from our neighborhood who were also Mud Turtle clients. One thing that really stood out though was the responsiveness of Joe. I'd lay in bed at 8-9pm and send emails with questions not expecting an answer til the morning and within 10 minutes I was getting a response. It was really something special that he would take time from his family to answer some of my, what I thought could've been dumb questions. What was nice is that all the subs from the digger, to the patio guy, to the pool crete guy, to the Mud Turtle field crew, everyone one was super personable and easy to talk to. Not one time did I feel shunned by anyone. Everyone shared in the same vision of providing a beautiful product in a timely manner. One thing that was important to me was knowing the schedule and maybe that's because of my background but John and his field staff/subs kept me up to date almost daily on progress and what was on the schedule in the coming days. These guys worked every day including some Saturdays and even Sunday. In fact John came to home on a Sunday morning at 7am to drop off more material for the crew to wrap up pool crete that day. It was really something special to see the commitment he had to his clients and ensuring the project and progress stayed on track. Now we were quoted 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Mud Turtle substantially completed the entire project in 6 weeks! This included 2000 sq ft of XL pavers, a fire pit and a 18x38 pool, with multiple features. It was really incredible that they completed such a large scale project in 6 weeks! Not only was it done effectively and efficiently but it was beautiful. Everything was perfect. We couldn't be happier with the final product. The lasting impression the Mud Turtle team left on me and my family is second to none. When you're making such a huge investment you want some reassurance that you're making a great decision for yourself, your home, but most importantly your family. That's why this review is important, you can rest assure that the Mud Turtle team will treat you like family and not just another sale.

Do NOT use Happy Pools for anything for your pool needs. I hired them to rehab my in ground pool…read morein 2023 due to the fact that it was leaking. They did a terrible job and after their so called repairs my pool developed a large crack along the bottom of the pool. They said they would repair it that fall and then ended up bailing on me and left my pool empty and uncovered for the entire following winter (I had paid them for a safety cover which I didn't receive until the following winter). When they finally showed up again the following spring to fix the crack in the pool, my pool had developed more cracks along the sides of the pool due to their negligence of leaving the pool empty and uncovered all winter. The concrete edging around my pool that they replaced is coming off in chunks. Staples from the "repairs" are literally pushing out of the pool walls. Cruz came out to look at the pool and decided he wouldn't warranty any of the work and wanted to charge me an additional 20k to fix it. I have had 3 other pool contractors look at the work Happy Pools did on my pool and they were all honestly horrified at the state of my pool thanks to the shoddy workmanship of Cruz and his team.
