I have purchased from this store at Spring & Los Coyotes Diag. in the past and have always been satisfied. However, I had my water tested on 6/20/2026 and was told high phosphates (519). They (Raquelle district area manager and Robyn) told me to drain about a foot of my saltwater pool and fill with fresh water. Done, tested again on 6/23 to make sure going in right direction. Phosphates at 577. Tech said the original test was freshwater test even though I told the gals was a saltwater pool. Heck, I even bought a bag of salt. Anyhow, fine. back to 6/26, start the descale, clean filters and do nophos treatment and run for 48 hours. 6/28 take in sample, phosphates at 1259. wawawawhat? Yeah 1259, I ask her how is this possible. Robyn tells me you can't pea in the pool. No one has been in the pool in the last week, so pea doesn't explain the high phosphorous content. Again, Robyn tells me pea will elevate the phosphorous. Then she tries to sell me some other phosphorous treatment as the "go to." So, I guess they sold the NoPhos to me last week, as a "may work." Lesson learned, I would have a couple of places test the water before deciding on a plan of action. More than likely, I would not follow Leslie's water analysis and treatment. They'll try to sell me something. read more

So first of all, I have been a pool owner for the last 15 years. I have visited approximately five separate Leslie's locations and had mostly competent staff . The manager at this Long Beach location on Spring street by the name of Andrea, is less than helpful. Her knowledge of pools and the impact of chemicals on pools is close to zero. She will make zero effort to talk to you or help you understand the impact to the chemical chemistry of your water based on what you are purchasing. I even showed her that every bottle or a bag of chemicals has an estimate of the impact to your water. She does not give any effort or consideration to her customers. She simply tells you to drop chemicals in and come back to retest your water. She is very impatient and rude and I would walk out of the store if I saw her working. I chalked up my first interaction to her as her having a bad day. I have since been there two separate times and her attitude is just as unpleasant and short. I went in to find an inflatable pool. They have some but are charging $65.95 for the same exact pool at Walmart for $29.99. But of course Walmart is all out. I asked the clerk is this a mistake? Because the same pool is at Walmart for $29.99 and he said well go to Walmart then. Wow what a nice person I'll never go back there. that's why they've jacked the price up in my opinion they're taking advantage of people. Andi the older woman I've seen poor reviews of on here was working and I had the most unpleasant encounter ever with her at this location. When I asked about grid filters, she showed me where they were and I asked her to confirm the ones I needed she proceeded to hold onto the filters while I asked her several times if I could take a picture of them and she kept putting them on the shelf and kept pulling the wrong ones because they weren't sorted correctly. Her short, abrupt, rough manner is off putting, and it made me not want to buy anything, even though I would have bought a lot of things for my new pool. After getting my water tested, Andi didn't even offer to show me or point me to where the chemicals I needed were. She seemed annoyed to be doing her job. Won't go back. There are many, many reviews posted below on the way she interacts and treats customers. Gio's review below hits it square on the head! I was in the store recently, and was waiting for a water test. The way she was treating and speaking to a gentlemen (who appeared to have just some basic knowledge, but needed help with his pool situation) was unprofessional, rude and condescending. A sign was in the door, "back in 10 minutes" I waited 15 minutes then another customer arrived. We chatted and I said they have been closed for the 15 that I've been waiting. Plus however long before my arrival. I phoned the shop and a woman picked up after many rings. I asked if they were open she said, " yes.. they were on a break and had 5 more minutes to go " I replied that I had been outside waiting for 15 and she said, " no I wasn't. " she had an unpleasant tone with me and wanted to debate the issue. From a customer service standpoint, if there are two people employees inside. (She did say We) they should have apologized for the wait and opened the shop. If that woman was the owner, she deserves to lose her customers to online shopping, 'what's the point of a brick and mortar store if not friendly convenience??' If in doubt of my time wasted; Mr Owner please check your security camera that pointed my direction the duration of my wait! I expect reasonable customer service or i will use Amazon. My rating is for the District Manager, Kyle. I reached out to Kyle because I had a less than favorable experience in store...but it was in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and most people had troubles adjusting. Kyle's knowledge or his store, his employees, the product, and access to the manufacturer made for a smooth experience. He guided me through the warranty repair, he checked in, and continued to hold himself accountable for customer satisfaction, all the way until the end. He was extremely professional. He let the Store Manager know when I was coming in to expedite handling of the repair and to fill her in. His level of service and willingness to help led me to rate Leslie's at 5-Stars; in Yelp's words, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" read more

I entered the empty LB store around 10:30 am. on a Monday morning. I believe customer service is important, but the employee behind the register had none. There was no "welcome, good morning, nor can I help you?". I asked a question regarding a product, and he never turned his back to look at me. This employee is clearly disgruntled. What appeared to be a regular customer arrived. The store attendant started mouthing the manager at the Cerritos store and also another store manager of a store that was near the beach. He said that store never makes any money and is a waste of time. All of this may be true, but it should not be discussed in front of customers. I waited at the register to pay, and he said I was at the wrong register. I walked around to the other register and then he walked away. I waited for a little bit but then walked out because he did not acknowledge me trying to pay. read more

Terrible service for my Polaris Pool cleaner which is under factory warranty. I left it the store in Long beach and 1 month later I called and they said they couldn't test it because there diagnostic equipment was bad, my sense is it would of sat forever like a black hole. Then I take it to Cerritos, and it sits again with no service or call back. Very poor customer service, its apparent they have no internal procedures for the service and repair of pool cleaners, its basically ad hoc and fix the unit when they have time. I have to pull my cleaner from the store and find an independent, super disappointed and a waist of time on my part, on top of not have a pool cleaner for 1-1/2 months. read more

A woman with long gray hair claiming to be the store manager THREW a water test bottle at me as I exited their store after trying unsuccessfully to get them to fix a mistake they made. Read ahead for the details of what happened. I am new to owning a spa and decided to use Leslie's since it's very close to my home. TERRIBLE MISTAKE. I went in on 7/23/22 to have my spa water tested. They set up a profile with information about my spa by asking me questions including whether I use Chlorine or Bromine. I use bromine. Bromine is printed on the weekly maintenance program printout and the printout shows the bromine level was one of the results. The printout reports what chemicals are recommended based on the water test. I asked the store employee to help me pick up the chemicals the report said I needed. He went and took two products off the shelf and said this is what you need and he explained how to use them. So far so good. I went back in yesterday, 7/31/22 at 11 am, to have my water tested again. This weeks printout showed I needed to add more chemicals. I took a photo of the chemicals he sold me the week before and showed him the photos to see if this is what I needed again. He pointed to one of the bottles on the photo and told me I couldn't use that product in my spa because it was chlorine and I use bromine in the water. I was surprised and explained it's the product he handed me last week and told me to use. Then he said he must have made a mistake. Still so far so good. I said that's cool everyone makes mistakes. Let me go home and bring the chlorine product back to exchange for what he should have had me buy. This is where things went south. He said they can't take back opened chemicals. He refused and then started trying to blame me for not telling him I used bromine. He started raising his voice and so did I. I asked him to printout my last weeks log and pointed out it clearly has the word bromine printed on it. I asked who the store manager was and the woman with long gray hair said she was. She started arguing too and trying to blame me and they started saying things like "we don't force you to buy and thing" and "prove it!" I was sure I was being punked. I took the printouts for evidence and said I would call the corporate office and file a complaint. I started walking toward the door and the manager woman said in a snarky voice "don't forget your water bottle" and I said I wouldn't ever come in the store again so I wouldn't need it. She replied in a very sarcastic voice "have a nice day." I walked out the door and heard something bang against the glass window. I turned around and saw the water bottle fall to the ground. She THREW the bottle at me! I went back in and said "did you really just throw the water bottle at me?" She replied "Prove it!" And she kept repeating snarky "have a nice day." This place is not good. Andrea, an older lady, is the manager here, and she is so rude. I visited this location on 07/03/2022, and the staff ignored me for about 15 minutes after I walked in. The store was slightly busy, so I didn't mind waiting around. But after the store became less crowded, I continued to be ignored. I was not offered assistance or greeted, yet I was standing by the counter. I then approached the counter and asked for help, but I was treated with disdain by Andrea, who strongly conveyed annoyance and was extremely short and abrupt in her demeanor. I recommend shopping elsewhere if you expect friendly or helpful service. Although if you're a regular customer here, you may get better treatment because she was not being rude to everyone there. However, simply glancing at many other reviews here will give you a good idea of Andrea (Andi) and how horrible and rude this older woman is to potential customers. read more

We recently moved and inherited a small salt water pool. We walked into Leslie's in Torrance yesterday and received wonderful service from the woman in the store (I wish I remembered her name!). She took her time explaining how Leslie's products could work for our salt water pool and recommended we bring water in for a test - she emphasized the water needed to be less than an hour old for the test to be effective. Since we both live in Long Beach and work in Hawthorne, it's hard for us to get home, collect our water sample and walk into the store. We left work early and hustled home to arrive at the Long Beach store at 6:47 PM (i.e. Sat in traffic for over an hour). We waited in line behind a woman checking out until approximately 6:51 PM. As we get to the counter the man working (Richard) sighs heavily and proceeds to chew us out for walking in before close for a water test. He tells us it will take more than 20 minutes and he does not have time. I used to work at a pool and know that testing chemicals takes no more than 5 minutes tops. Big surprise, Richard had created a Leslie's account for us and finished our water test by 6:57. He slaps the print out down without a word and turns his back to us to signal our interaction is over. Thanks to the wonderful woman in the Torrance store, we knew the three supplies we needed to get onto the Leslie pool care system. We are at the back of the store looking at one of the products and then trying to interpret our test results to confirm that is what we needed when Richard yells across the store at 6:59: YOU NEED TO LEAVE IM CLOSING. TLDR: Leslie's should evaluate their hours since it is impossible for most working people to get to a store between 9 - 7. I apologized to Richard for walking in so late (15 min to close), but also fail to understand why the 5 minute water test was such an inconvenience to him. He didn't have an extra 2 min to point us to the Leslie's algae free program products (which I already knew about - shout out again to Torrance store!) and make a quick and easy $150 sale. I also could have done without the cursing (aimed toward other customers who also walked in before 7), mumbling about what awful people we are and general slamming of items on the counter to express his frustration. I will be going to the Torrance Leslie's (or another pool store) in the future. It is now 25 minutes after Leslie's closing and I have already driven to Home Depot, picked up the items I needed and checked out. Thanks for the free water test! read more

I moved into a house with a pool two seasons ago. The first place I went completely clueless was here. Since day 1 they have been beyond helpful, and take the time to explain things in terms I can understand. The store manager Andi has bailed me out of broken equipment (both times MY fault) twice now with no charge. You can buy stuff online, but you don't get the knowledge and expertise of the staff that actually know what they are talking about! Because of their knowledge, I was able to cancel my pool guy and do all the maintenance myself with their help. Don't hesitate to go this store if you need help. read more

Pro: They have a lot of the supplies that are required to maintain your pool - but they do lack a few things you can find online. Cons: They are constantly trying to upsell you. "Did you know that our inflatables are 25% off?" "This Poolblaster vacuum will do the trick. We just got these in" "What you need is to purchase acid, pool first aid, this phosphate plus and x, y, z as well." You can almost see the disappointment in their eyes when you don't bite. Then they talk about how they aren't selling enough merchandise with one another and how yesterday was slow and no customers came in until 11:30am all in front of customers. These guys have too much pressure from management to sell, or maybe their paychecks are commission-based. Either way, the experience is typically unsavory. read more
