Unfortunately, when I returned, not a single pair was finished. To make matters worse, I was charged $189.00 for the service. I understand that delays can happen, but there was no communication regarding the work not being completed, and the overall experience was extremely frustrating. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this business. If you're looking for reliable tailoring services, I would highly recommend LT Tailor in Meyerland. They do quality work, complete it on time, and get it right the first time. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations.

There are people who like to complain, but they like to complain all the time because they have an expectation of what something should be as opposed to the most it can be. That is their own personal failings. Martin has flawlessly corrected, altered and updated my clothes for years. I have tailored countless items. I have had Martin's recreate custom-made suits all the way down after I lost considerable weight. They are an amazing place to do business with.

They're usually pretty busy but someone does always at least tell you they'll be with you in a minute . Turn around time: You can get things turned around quicker if needed and they do work with you. That being said if you don't need it urgently you may end up waiting a week or two. Cost: Their prices are so competitive!! Over time, the prices have also increased significantly. I recently had the waist taken in on a pair of pants, and what used to cost $20-$25 is now $40. On top of that, there are only three parking spots for this location, and if those are taken, you have to find parking elsewhere in the area and walk to the tailor. Because of the steep price increase and inconvenient parking, I've decided not to return to this location.

They used to do wonderful tailoring!!…read more I just picked up some shirts today. Pretty basic stuff. One of them - the arms were not taken up evenly. The other - simply hemming a straight shirt - the bottom was uneven - one side stuck out to the side. It seems like the threads were pulled to tight and the bottom no longer fell flat. Very disappointed. I don't think I'm going to use them anymore. They used to be great.

The shop is clean, well-lit and has huge mirrors. There isn't much free parking nearby, but the short walk from street parking is manageable enough. I had a strapless dress with a fairly high split and was roomy in the top area. The dress had lots of sequins and feathers, so I was anxious on how he would make the alterations, but I soon learned to trust his professionalism and the dress turned out absolutely gorgeous! A week and $40 later, I was ready to hit the dance floor at my friend's Roaring 20s/Great Gatsby-themed birthday party.

It's worth noting that Andy specializes in alterations and tailoring and only does dry cleaning through a family connection as a side business. The shop is well lit, clean and has a large dressing room and mirrored wall for alternations. For dry cleaning, since this is not his main business, expect to wait about a week for pick up and to pay a little more. I dropped off my three items on a Thursday afternoon and left my cellphone number which Andy said that he would text when the items were ready. I never received a text so I waited a little over a week to pick up my items on the following Saturday afternoon. My items were ready when I got there and the dress that I dropped off with a few stains looked as good as new! I paid $7 an item which is definitely on the higher end but I was happy to see the quality of the work. Other notes - free parking is becoming increasingly scarce in Rice Village so be prepared to walk a few blocks during busier times of the day if you don't want to pay to park. Unfortunately no dedicated spots or lot.
