My family and I have been coming to Leo's since I was a kid. My cousins also always bring their clients there because they have probably the best pasta in Youngstown. The service is always impeccable. You never have to beg for anything. The servers are well trained. They come around regularly to fill drinks and genuinely care if you're having a good experience. Sadly, that type of service has mostly vanished most places. We had a wonderful female server. I unfortunately can't remember her name. She was upstairs yesterday with brown hair and a pony tail. Now to the food. They have a fantastic menu so you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My family and I have tried all kinds of things and loved them. It's our go to for celebrations. We started off with the fried artichokes which were crispy and delicious. They reminded us of the ones we had in Rome last year. My mom and I had the lemon pasta with shrimp. It was unbelievably good. You got tons of shrimp and the pasta was soft and melted in your mouth with the lemon. My husband loved his wedding soup and chicken Milanese. His family is Italian so he's hard on chicken cutlets. He said it was crispy and moist. It looked amazing but I didn't snap a photo since I was hungry. My cousin loved her eggplant Parmesan. She's also Italian and has been to Italy several times. That's her go to dish. It's always cooked perfectly. My other cousins got spaghetti and meatballs which they loved. The meatballs are huge and perfectly cooked. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you love Italian and know what good pasta is supposed to taste like, go to Leo's. I'll start with the pros- The lamb chops with the watermelon & feta were delicious. The signature white pizza was good to me but my one friend did not like it. My other friend liked the lasagna. The bread was good and hot. The salad was a salad. My spaghetti and meatballs were good. The sauce reminded me of the Mt Carmel Sunday Sauce which is my favorite store bought spaghetti sauce . The entertainment was good and fun for dinner. It was my friend's birthday and they didn't care if we brought a little cake. I thought the prices were just about the same as other places. The cons- The service was slow. We were seated for about half an hour before the martinis finally came. We were there 2 hours total. The server never had cheese. She had to hunt it down for our appetizers and by the time she brought it we already ate the soup and salad. Then when the main dish came again no cheese. I waited 4 minutes for cheese. The server said she couldn't find any. That's a long time when you've already been waiting 1.5 hours for a plate of spaghetti. We noticed the other servers had cheese on their tray when they brought the food so idk if there is a cheese shortage but it was a point of contention as our food got cold while we waited on cheese. Just put a $3 jar on the table. Problem solved. Free the cheese!! My friend never got her coffee that she specifically told the server she needed before she could eat. So she didn't eat. My other friend did not like the seafood pasta. I liked my spaghetti and meatballs but honestly it didn't sit well. It had me sitting all night and half the morning. Besides the cheese shortage, the other thing we literally couldn't avoid was the sun setting in the west that was blinding us. They should invest in some shades if they are going to sit people outside. Is the patio new? Do they not deal with the sun every night and see people struggling to get out of the sun? Me and my family just went to this restaurant for one of our birthdays, and it was wonderful! We all love the food and drinks. Our service was great and it wasn't too crowded. The free bread was excellent, especially when it was hot and we have a wonderful server. I would recommend if you're in the area and want some Italian food. Food is ok. Amount for what you pay is awful. 12 noodles on a plate is embarrassing. Especially for an Italian restaurant. Server was great. Reservations made for 11 but there were not even enough room for 10. We only ended up with 10 and we were still jammed shoulder to shoulder. However, my wife and I joined another couple here after an evening concert, and we came for glasses of wine and dessert. My wife and I recently had dinner here with friends, 4 of us in all. The food and service were OUTSTANDING!!!! It made for such a great evening. Menu suggestions (we enjoyed): Delmonico Steak - perfectly done at medium temp. Pasta w/ Grilled mushrooms and veggies in a lite cream sauce was absolutely fantastic. Spinach pasta with grilled veggies in a red sauce was also great. Pasta and Shrimp - my wife's friend had this and said it was delicious. The desserts were also excellent w/ generous portions. The service that we had was about the best that we have had in many years and countless restaurants. Desiree was our server and again, she was fantastic! I happened to be out in Newton Falls for a medical appointment and figured I'd stop somewhere before making the hour drive back to Cleveland Given the proximity to Youngstown, it was hardly a surprise to find a respectable Italian restaurant nearby, so I decided to stop and give it a try. The restaurant itself sits along a road dotted with businesses, but occupies its own lot and is clearly visible from the street. From the moment you step through the main door, an aura of class and elegance was readily apparent - I almost expected to see Lennie Strollo or Eugene "The Animal" Ciasullo occupying a booth... but not this time. The interior was spacious and well-lit, with vaulted ceilings giving way to wooden accents dispersed throughout a vast dining area. If you want to sit at the bar, a wide selection of top-shelf liquor sits behind a granite countertop. I was seated at a booth and given a menu, from I chose the lunch portion of spaghetti marinara with a mixed green salad (mesculin greens with maple balsamic vingarette, grapes, sliced apples, candied pecans, and bleu cheese). The salad was nicely complemented by the bread that was brought out, which included a housemade butter in an herb infused oil base - amazing! The spaghetti was reasonably sized for a lunch portion, and I definitely wasn't hungry when I left. If this place wasn't so far, I can affirmatively state that I would be a regular. I don't know if this should be a 2 or 3. Leo's used to have good food. My husband & I went and we ordered linguini & clams and eggplant parm. The eggplant parm was inedible and the linguini was meh. Growing up, my dad's office was just a few blocks away from Leo's. We ate here or got takeout from here more times than I can remember. My family moved away when I went to college, but my dad brings takeout from Leo's every once in a while and it always makes me so happy. Their food is top notch. I tried to get good Italian food when I moved to Boston, New York, and DC - and nothing is as good to me as Leo's. It's my fondest memory of food from my hometown and always hits the spot. Now I've developed a lot of dietary restrictions (no gluten or dairy etc), and they have awesome gluten free pasta and are happy to make anything dairy free. While visiting Youngstown, Ohio, we were lucky enoughto be directed to Leo's Ristorante in Warren. I'm not a big fan of the food at most Italian restaurants nor most red sauce, but am always open to try a new spot. Am I ever glad we stopped. My husband and I shared a calamari appetizer and oh my, was it delicious - tender calamari sliced in rings, deep-fried with a light, crisp batter, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy sauce that, with a veggie, would have sufficed as my entire meal. For our entrées, my husband ordered the chicken parmesan - a large, tender chicken breast with the best red sauce either of us has ever eaten, served over a generous helping of pasta. My entrée was sausage and peppers and was equally as good. The sausage was almost as good as the one my hubby makes (nice and lean with a robust flavor) with both sweet and hot peppers on a bed of pasta. Dessert was manna from Heaven - tiramisu with perhaps a hint of coconut, a layer of chocolate mascarpone and garnished with paper-thin dark chocolate leaves. Sooo good! If you haven't already figured it out, our meal was spectacularly good and we'll have wonderful leftovers sufficient for another full meal. read more

Awful! The waitress was slow and not very friendly and restaurant wasn't even busy. It took 25 minutes to get a drink and double that to get our lunch. We ordered gnocchi which looked like a side order but was still 18$ and the total number of pieces were six! Another person ordered the eggplant and it too was small and pricey but this time the taste was off. All around it was not an enjoyable lunch. Will not be returning. read more

My review should be taken with a grain of salt, because I know the owners and love them dearly. They are phenomenal people and there aren't many people I hold more highly. That said, I've never had a less than wonderful meal here. This is the only restaurant that has handed me a salad that knocked my socks off. I've never wanted to send back my entree in favor of a salad other than at Leo's. I didn't, but I wanted to. Their calamari is awesome, but I prefer the Thai more than the sweet and sour. I do wish they would bring it back, but I'm just one person in a sea of many. Their menu is extensive and intricate, so I almost feel bad in saying their prime burger is my favorite thing ever. Handmade Sweet potato gnocchi? Nope, because I can't miss the greatest burger I've ever had. It's juicy and not greasy, doesn't need condiments and has the perfectly balanced brioche bun and veggies. Oh wow. I really must emphasize how great this place is. First, it is a nice restaurant so we were underdressed. It is not black tie but next time it'll give me a reason to dress up a little more than just jeans and a shirt lol. So we got the deep fried squid and that was really good. My husband got swordfish and said it was amazing and I got the eggplant rollatini and it blew my mind. So very good. The waiter was great too. He kept us laughing and delivered the food at the perfect rate (not everything at once like most places tend to do and gave us time to digest the appetizer and such before delivering the next round of dishes and checked with us before bringing each plate). I came here for dinner with some of my in-laws and had a great experience. I ordered off the seasonal menu and had butternut squash ravioli with fried sage and toasted hazelnuts. This was a great choice - each of those components was cooked really well and I ate the entire dish. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. We were one of the last groups in the restaurant because we started dinner late after traveling from Columbus, but didn't feel rushed at all. We have been going to Leo's for over twenty years. We live in Howland and prefer doing business with our local establishments. Over the past two months we have gone for dinner at Loe's and to be honest we have had the WORST experience both times. After the first time we chalked it up to COVID and decided to give it another go. Again, it was so bad, that we have decided will never go there again and will seek out another favorite restaurant. The service was terrible, and the food very bad! Veal was tough, my husband ordered the braised short rib(s). Well he didn't get short ribs! It was a little amount of meat, less then 2oz of meat and just not a good flavor. I hate giving a local restaurant such a poor review however, someone has to relay just how bad this place has become. In summary, the prices are too high and the food poor! There were three in our party, a veal meal, short ribs and gnocchi, 2 glasses wine......$119.00 without tip! Which would have been fine if the food and service were stellar.......What happened Leo? My recommendation is that please think about going to another restaurant before you spend too much on poor service!! read more

We don't go out to dinner much due to Covid. We decided to go to Leo's Ristorante tonight. We sat at a booth, very distant from other diners. There are hand sanitizer stations throughout the restaurant. I chose the Autumn salad with grilled chicken and my husband had the Truffle Sacchietti, followed by a wonderful flourless chocolate cake. Our meals were absolutely delicious! I will dream about the unique Autumn salad until I have it again! The best dinner out in a long time! read more

My husband and I enjoyed eating here so much that we decided to have our wedding & reception in the patio room. Food always delicious and of great quality with decent pricing. Service has always been excellent wether it was just lunch, dinner, or our wedding reception. All around beautiful restaurant for couples dining, family meal, or a wedding reception. They did a very nice job setting up the room, providing table linens, and helping me with layout/flow, provided bartender, food was timely & excellent, and they served the wedding cake. Everyone commented on how beautiful the room was and how great the wedding reception was. When my husband first suggested I consider them for our wedding I thought it would be too costly but it ended up being affordable. I had my rehearsal dinner scheduled for May 2020 and when Covid hit, we canceled our big wedding and reception. Leo's did not return our deposit nor did they give us a gift card for the deposit we put down. All while they weren't even open and allowed to serve us the original day of the rehearsal dinner. I called multiple times and the woman on the phone would say she would send us something to get off the phone but she never did. I am so on the fence about this place. I've dined here 3 times and I'm still not sure what to expect when I stop in. All 3 times I got the chicken parm, because, well, why not. The first and last time----omg, dude, pound out the chicken. Way too think, it was the weirdest thing ever. The second time I ordered it, it was fabulous. Sometimes my in-laws order their pizza. It's usually VERY good. I don't necessarily care for white pizza, but theirs is done very well. My mom got the gnocchi before, which she said she didn't care for. She said there wasn't enough. The next time we went she got some other kind of pasta dish, which she said there was a ton of. My dad and sister both got the lasagna, which they liked. I let my 10 year old niece order the $26 seafood risotto. She at all of it and then said she didn't like it, so I'm not sure about that one.... My mother in law and sister in law were in Warren unexpectedly last night so drove up from Poland to meet them for dinner. I hadn't been to the Warren area before so trusted Yelp to help me out and as usual, my fellow Yelpers did not let me down! We started with the hot peppers in oil and a "sweet and spicy" calamari, both of which were excellent. For entrees, I had the veal and peppers which were very good except for the accompanying mashed potatoes that were just meh. The portion was huge and I have enough left for two lunches! My MIL had a pasta special (Tuesday is pasta night) that was orrechiette with spinach, mushrooms and a marasala cream sauce. She really liked it but I thought it was a bit heavy on the cream and was glad I hadn't tried it. SIL had homemade manacotti that looked awesome and she said was very good although I did not try it myself. If Leo's were a bit farther south it would definitely be a regular spot for us but given the 40 minute drive, we'll save it for special occasions. read more
