The pushback I received regarding medically necessary contact lenses was unbelievable. It felt like they simply did not want to do the work involved. I have been wearing contacts since I was 10 years old and need medically necessary lenses. What made the experience even more frustrating was being initially told that this clinic was not covered by my insurance, when I specifically chose LensCrafters because it is covered. After three phone calls, they finally acknowledged that they are in fact associated with my insurance. It has now been six weeks, and throughout this process I have had to chase down answers myself, with little to no communication or updates. What made it worse was being asked whether I could just wear glasses. Because my prescription is so high, glasses make the world curved, so contacts are not a convenience for me, they are a necessity. For something medically necessary, this level of confusion, pushback, and poor follow-through is unacceptable. 3 months later no contacts, optometrist Park never calls back. Dr Park is amazing and is always so pleasant with her visits and how great she is with her patients!!! My three stars are so the service I've had for the last years I've been to this location we visit here once a year for our annual eye exam and glasses but my most recent visit and encounter with Karen has really made me rethink if I want to go back. Karen isn't always the most pleasant and today made me feel super uncomfortable just asking to see estimates on both contacts and glasses. I know insurance pays one or the other but since my glasses prescription didn't change but my contact did I thought it would be useful to get both options and see what would be better. Well Karen the sales rep didn't think so and was rude, defensive and condescending when I asked for both... I had to ask three times for both options and honestly got uncomfortable with the interaction and decided not to move forward with even looking at glasses... I had asked to be rung up for my initial visit and even that was uncomfortable to ask for with Karen's attitude.... To make things even more awkward my FSA card wasn't working and she seemed to be bothered by that and just in general had an attitude... this isn't the first time I've encountered Karen's attitude towards helping me and I figured last time when I went to pick up my contacts that Dr Park ordered to try it was just a misunderstanding but I've come to realize that this girl just has hostility towards me... the other employees are nice, pleasant and professional which Karen lacks all of the above.. They walk you through everything including the measurements and the prescription to how the insurance is covering items. Even got an extra $50 off my bill. We came here to get both of our glasses replaced due to us having scratches on our lenses. Also our frames were worn and bent. Thankfully LensCrafters has a great warranty on our frames and glasses. So all we had to pay was a copay of $50 per glasses. That was way cheaper than what we originally paid. Lily, Luna and Efrain were very helpful and professional! I called to ask about my glasses prescription details. The girl who answered was nice, polite, pleasant. She didn't know how to answer my questions so she went to ask for help from the manager, she did so twice. But the 3rd time after being on hold, another woman picked up, assuming the manager, and didn't bother saying thanks for holding, hi nothing. But ok, afterwards she processed to explain the answer to my question. Seemed very bothered when I asked for clarifications again seemed very bothered, proceeded with an idk. I said ok, ty and she couldn't be bothered to say bye, thanks nothing. She hung up before I could finish. I think k you should really reconsider having someone more welcoming. The new store manager is abrasive and rude. The lady helping me (Malia I believe) was sweet and took care of me wonderfully, but if I'm going to be berated by someone for coming out of the wrong exit from the bathroom especially with the harsh tone she used, I'm definitely never coming back to this location. She was also very rude to a couple guests that came in after me. It makes me think if this is how she talks to guests, I can only imagine how she treats her employees. I would recommend finding a new store manager that has a more welcoming energy. Malia, however, you were amazing! I hope she doesn't talk to you the way I and a few other guests were talked to. I went to buy a pair of glasses, they spend all their time answering the phone and they don't help you, from the moment I arrived I mentioned that I had forgotten my credit card, but that I had the information and my identification with me, the one who seemed to be the manager spoke loudly to the person selling me that the sale couldn't be made because of the memo they had received. I understand the policies but it's not right that they treat you rudely, that's why it would have been better if they had told me from the beginning that they were going to require my physical card. Overall, a terrible experience. Completely unorganized and came across several challenges when trying to get & order my contact lenses prescription. The optometrist herself was very friendly but everything else was a complete mess. At my initial exam, I placed an order for my test contact lenses which they said they would call once they arrived at the store. A month and a half later, I call to check in and turns out they never placed the order for the test lenses. Once those test lenses finally came in, they then told me I'd be charged again even though that was never disclosed in my first visit. AND THEN, when I called to place my official order for my contact lenses, they then say my prescription is expired. Turns out they were looking at someone else's file. Then they say they can't find my information at all. Turns out they put my prescription under my husbands information. I'm not sure what's going on with their computer system, but it's never been this difficult to order lenses. Never coming here again. read more

I write this as a now former customer, yet again. I used to get my prescription glasses from this company in the past. I quit going to them due to the ridiculous pricing and started using GlassesUSA and other online companies due to pricing, efficiency and simplicity. I got a postcard for what appeared to be a good birthday deal so I decided to try Lenscrafters one more time. Just as I suspected , ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I purchased my "PREMIUM" Oakley regular prescription and prescription sunglasses for about $750 after insurance/discounts and was PROMISED "ONE WEEK DELIVERY GUARANTEED". "WE'LL TEXT YOU AS SOON AS THEY COME IN". Ya, right! Your sales rep "LILLY" NEVER followed up. After a WEEK AND A HALF I called to see what was going on. Some representative told me, they were a little behind and I "COULD" expect both products by the end of the week. Needless to say, I NEVER GOT A CALL, TEXT OR, HELL, AN UPDATE! I finally got a text and went to pick up BOTH orders. Needless to say, the poor excuse, referred to as a "sales representative" acted like she didn't know me and had never seen me before. Once I clarified that she was the person who "assisted" me, she told me to go sit by where the guys in the white coats appear to working on glasses. Once there she struggled to find my order, of course. Then, when she found the sunglasses I asked her what the delay was and she ignored me, again and again and again. Finally she went to white coat guy and asked him to find my regular glasses. When she returned, I made my inquiry very clear and was told, oh they shipped to a different department for special coating? Right.... I call bull. Particularly because white coat guy came over and said, "OH, THEY ARE DELAYED BECAUSE OF SPEICAL FRAME" and "SHOULD BE HERE THIS SATURDAY", right.... So, who's lying? Shitty sales person or white coat guy? Regardless, I was told 1 week, then told another week, then told another week and when I simply asked, "what time will I be able to pick them up", was told I can't tell you that. Well why the hell not?! And the key to success? Try and hand an irritated customer some cheap "cleaning cleaning spray" sold by a company that CAN'T EVEN DO THE ONE THING THEY'RE IN BUSINESS TO DO, what a joke!!! Let's start by no greeting when you walk in and it wasn't busy at all. But fine I browsed around until I was noticed. Got called in by the doctor and took my eye exams for contacts. He gave me an updated pair of contact lenses since my prescription did change. Once I was finished with my exam, I waited for my partner to finish his exam as well. I felt the new contacts were irritating my eyes a bit and my vision wasn't clear and I was seeing blurry. I told one of the girls my vision isn't clear, she told me to give it a few days for my eyes to adjust to the new prescription. I went home in hopes that my eyes would "adjust" to the new prescription. I wore my contacts the next day and my eyes were feeling even worse. I looked back at my old eye prescriptions and noticed that I have a curvature on my eyes. I called LensCrafters to ask if they got the curvature of my eyes and they didn't answer my question and proceeded with ordering me the right contacts for my eyes. They said they would call me once they received my contacts and they never called me and I waited over a week before calling them to inquire. I will never come back again, horrible service, they gave me the wrong contact size for my eyes and never got a response back from them why the doctor never caught the size of my eyes. read more

We went to a different LensCrafters location for his eye exam, and had a really hard time applying vision insurance when it was time to purchase glasses...so we left and came to this location. Luna and her team were able to find our insurance in their system in under 5 minutes. She got us out in 20 minutes flat with 2 pairs of glasses. i don't even know where to start because my experience was THAT BAD. i recently had a change in insurance so this was my first time in this office. but over the course of a month i had to make SIX TRIPS to this place. the first time, the guy helping me didn't know what medically necessary contacts were and told me he didn't know how to process that using my insurance even though it said $0 copay on the card. i called my insurance while i was there and they were so confused as to why i was asking them about this. they told me the optometrist took care of all of the logistics and paperwork. but even after telling the receptionist that, he still advised me to come back when his manager was in. i wasted 45 min and with nothing accomplished, we scheduled another appointment for later that week. the second time i had my exam. nothing special. the third, fourth, and fifth time i had to pick up more trials (no one ever had any information about my contact order). i would wait a week and call in to ask for an update but every single person i would talk to had to put me on hold and never knew the status of my order or had any information as to what was going on. one guy even had the nerve to tell me that medically necessary contacts weren't very common so this wasn't something that they came across very often. so that was my problem? You guys say you take my insurance, medically necessary is listed on my insurance card, so clearly it's a service that you guys provide but you just don't know how to provide it and you made it seem like it was my problem and just overall a real headache for me. we're three weeks in now and when i call for an update, the guy i talk to tells me that the doctor finally ordered my contacts but paid for them out of HER own pocket because she was still trying to work things out with insurance. SO UNPROFESSIONAL to say that and again he made it seem like I was an inconvenience and somehow that this was my problem. the sixth time, i was finally able to pick up my contact order with no apologies or explanations. She made me feel completely uncomfortable while asking questions regarding lens features/prices. She spoke to me in a derogatory manner and upset that I wasn't willing to purchase the lenses she was trying to sell. Despite explaining what I needed, she continued to push and quote me for the most expensive lenses and features, when I specifically rejected them. Tried walking in Lenscrafter at 7:20pm (they close at 8pm) an associate name "Karen" was closing all the window blinds already. She stops us right at the door to find out what we need. Never a smile or a welcome. To make a long story short just rude. She brought out 3 choices of safety glasses and said that's all they had because alot of ppl have bn ordering them. One of the lenses in my eye glasses fell out, and they repaired them for free! They even replaced the aging nose guards with brand new ones at no cost! This is the 2nd 5 star experience with broken glasses being fixed for free at this Italian owned company. (Went to another location for the other fix) I waited less than 10 minutes each time. This review is for the Bristol St location- I came in to browse the glasses- I feel like this specific location has really pushy sales people. I've been to other Lenscrafters that were much more relaxed feeling. This location made me feel uncomfortable. I was first approached by one salesman who wanted my prescription info... I told him I was just there to simply browse and that I already had a prescription from a recent doctor's visit. Two minutes later a different salesman approached, this time it felt like it was the manager because he was overdressed. He would not leave me alone! He wanted my phone number, my information, etc. I just wanted to browse!!! I don't know if they work on commission, but these guys need to back off! My personal info doesn't need to be revealed to look at glasses. I recommend the Fashion Island location instead, where it seems to be mostly women working. read more

I visited LensCrafters on May 17 to have the scratches removed from my reading glasses before traveling for business. I had purchased my reading glasses from LensCrafters a year and a half ago and I purchased the insurance as well. The male employee stated the insurance i purchased expired after a year and they do not renew the added insurance for scratches or frames. They refused to remove the scratches for any amount unless I got a new exam and prescription from them and then purchased new lenses. Their customer service is unacceptable and I will never return here again. In addition their prices are extremely high. I suggest they consider extending added insurance or offering a set price to remove scratches for those without insurance. read more

Went into store to get 2 brand new lenses put into frames I had previously purchased. (~$500). I entered the store @ 3:52pm and they close @ 5:00p.m. Manger looking person without name tag or identifying uniform angrily tells me they cannot complete the service because their technician leaves at 4:30. I tell him it's 3:53 he then says it's 4:00. I point to my phone and show him it's 3:53. I inquire about the 1 hour advertised lens installation and then he quips "well do you want to pay my technician because I'm not going to." I don't really write reviews ever but was so poorly treated I felt it right to warn others. I won't be returning. LensCrafters is losing the online battle against new brands and this type of service accelerates their decline. read more

Great visit! I haven't had an eye exam in almost 5 years and even though I needed to last year, COVID kept me away. As chance would have it, my pup Blaze swiped my glasses off my face while we were laying on the bed. I visited LensCrafters mostly because they took my insurance and were close and I could get in quick. I was firstly amazed at how COVID precautions were being handled. I mainly dealt with Dr Rob. (Sorry don't remember last name), and Lillian. They were always very professional and friendly. The Dr. went through the changes in my prescription and he showed me the pictures of the back of my eyes and described all the features and potential issues, (luckily not many!). When it came to the options for the frames there were about six or seven very high end brands, from Ray Bans to Brooks Brothers and Oakley. I luckily didn't need any help, because none was offered. Just very specific COVID directions for making sure that the glasses were cleared after. I really appreciated this. There were only a few I liked all between $189 and $289. I ended up having to take my second choice only because my first wouldn't work with my very strong prescription. I knew going in that it would take a while for my special order to get done so when they said ten days it wasn't a problem. There was a bit of a sticker shock at the end when the total hit but Lillian broke it down for me and showed me how it came out. I'm lucky I had insurance or it would have been much more!
