After posting this review, the Malibu store reached out and immediately resolved this which I am greatful for. I do hope that they get rid of Luxottica however (the company you are supposed to use for warranty issues) as Luxottica has still been unhelpful in resolving this issue and has continued to not resolve. Been to this store many times and other locations. All have been great experiences but my most recent visit was completely different when a lady named Eileen assisted me. Upon reading reviews, I was shocked to find out that she has been the manager. I guess I was lucky to not have ran into her before because she was not helpful at all and very pretentious. I don't understand people who work in retail and act as if they own the store and treat customers like they're beneath them. I went in to the store to buy new nose pads for my OP Aviators. I had excellent customer service. The female associate took my glasses in the back added the new nose pads, cleaned my lenses and tightened the frame. I fully expected to pay for the service but there was no charge. My boyfriend came in on Saturday June 21 around 1:15 and an employee was being super rude to him. The employee gave off a vibe that he was annoyed at my boyfriend when telling him to put the glasses on the bottom shelf after trying them on. Employee was also hovering only by him despite there being other customers at the store. I've been a long time Oliver Peoples customer. I've purchased their products for myself and my family since the mid the 2000s. My father purchased a pair of glasses and prescription lenses at this location in late November 2019--his first prescription glasses as a matter of fact. The total cost was around $1385 with the lenses being $875, as he opted for the best quality lenses available. We still have the receipt with the original jacket (pictures posted). Since purchasing the glasses, the coating on the lenses started failing. We are not close to a OP store and we definitely didn't go to South Coast Plaza during the covid lockdown period/pandemic. I'm 100% certain the mall wasn't even open during the lockdowns and majority of 2020 and vaccinations weren't even available till spring 2021. We went to the store today to show the glasses and shockingly didn't receive any help or consideration from the staff. We even explained that we avoided trips to the mall during the pandemic and that restrictions in California were just recently lifted in California as of Feb 2023. 2 staff members (one was named Esther) suggested purchasing new lenses even though their hasn't been any changes in his vision. Another employee was extremely condescending (didn't catch his name but he was a man wearing a mask) and accused my father of cleaning them with a product that ruined the coating. My father explained to them that he still has the original soft cloth that came with the glasses and only uses an OP cloth to clean them. There was no apology or empathy, what-so-ever, from either one of them. As a matter of fact, Esther suggested purchasing new lenses since these lasted 3+ years. Ridiculous. The reason he purchased the best lenses was because he thought they would last a long time. I never imagined that OP wouldn't stand behind their workmanship---or in our case, the lack of it. It is obvious that the coating failed prematurely. I still have a pair of 15+ years old OP glasses from with lenses purchased from LensCrafters and the lenses are still good. Not that OP cares (clearly), but I'll never purchase OP products again. Never did I imagine that such a large luxury brand won't stand behind their work and value their customers. We didn't demand a refund or anything. We just expected OP to stand by the quality that they claim and remedy the situation appropriately. After getting my favorite sunglasses badly bent by a coworker but also in need of some new temple ends, I stopped in at the store in Costa Mesa. Upon arrival I was told that entering the store would be by appointment only and was told that there was a spot open approximately 45 minutes from when I got there. I told the friendly young lady that I actually needed repairs on my existing pair. She immediately took my glasses and told me she could take care of it and told me that she would call me shortly. I went back about an hour later and lo and behold my sunglasses looked like brand new again. Not only did Eileen change out a bunch of parts including the noose pads and they temple end and she also perfectly adjusted the frame which was amazing. On top I was told there would be no charge and I was thrilled. This is what I call customer service, and this will be my go-to store going forward. A couple of months ago, I was searching for updated optical eyewear. I was helped by Eileen. She was awesome. She was patient, helpful, and most importantly, really honest, when asking for her opinion. I ended up with 2 sunglasses and 1 eyeglasses, and couldn't be happier. I love this store (miss the sample sale, but that is gone since Covid) I love that salesperson Brian remembers not only my name but also my little pup Edith Piafs name too ...it's been ages since We were at the store. Very nice customer service. I have a pair of Oliver Peoples sunnies that are my absolute favorite and needed a bit of attention. The inside of the nose pads were discolored and flattened and one of the screw was loose. They repaired everything and it feels like I'm wearing brand new sunglasses. So, went to this location just maybe 20 minutes ago with my husband who knew what he wanted and was going to buy a pair of glasses. Had been in the store for five minutes when another older good looking couple came in and the apparent only salesman on the floor, a bearded overweight man, ignored us, and began to help the other couple. Pretty rude. We waited for another 5 minutes or so before my husband began to look in the drawers under the display case and all of sudden the same rude salesman admonished us for looking on the drawers and said that someone would help us in a minute. To which my husband said, "oh really?" So we left, walked to Vitra, another optical store in the same part of the mall where we met David, who even though he was with another customer, greeted us nicely and asked us to let him know if he could show us anything. They look great. But before making a purchase I recommend asking the salesperson to give you a written guarantee for servicing after the sale. My $1400 pair was manufactured wrong and needed complete replacement shortly after delivery. After replacement I lost screws four times and had to return to the store to have replacement screws installed. The screws holding the frame together (there are four, two on each side....loose one and you loose the frame or lens to the floor) have a unique washer and are "special order" - my Miami store does not have them in stock and I'm still waiting after several weeks for replacement screws to come in and for the sales person to call me. If this should happen to you I recommend you inspect the screw head(s) to be sure the person who installed the screw has not stripped the head.....which will prevent a proper tightening should it happen again. I also notice, and from reading other reviews, I believe I'm in good company, that my expensive lenses constantly need cleaning. They are very difficult to clean. I'm beginning to feel that this must be because the lenses are inferior quality. I paid for and was guaranteed the highest quality prior to laying my AMEX card out for purchase. I was also promised satisfactory service after my purchase. Not sure about Oliver Peoples - I'm the type of buyer who does not care about the expense, just expect quality and service and follow up after my purchase. read more

In the past, the service at Oliver Peoples Costa Mesa has been exceptional. The employees used to be helpful and willing to assist. Unfortunately my last two experiences at Oliver Peoples have completely changed my perception of Oliver Peoples. Eileen demonstrated unethical/shady behavior in two different scenarios and I have the receipts! While on vacation I mishandled my Strummer Sunglasses, and needed the lens replaced. I stopped by in January 2021 and had the lenses replaced by Esther. She was eager to assist me and replaced my lenses for the cost of $50.00. Unfortunately in May 2021 I scratched my sunglasses and needed the lenses replaced again. I stopped by to have the process repeated :( regrettably Esther wasn't available to help me. I walked in and spoke with Eileen. I informed her of the situation and explained I needed the lenses replaced. Her response is well, we're going to have to take your sunglasses in and special order lenses cut to your frame. She stated they no longer stock the precut lenses and it would be a special order. I let her know I was in a few months back and was able to have my lenses replaced on the spot. She stated the process changed many years ago and I was mistaken. I realized she wasn't going to be able to help me. I thanked her for her time and left Fast forward to July 2021. I was on my way to Crystal Court to look at some furniture and walked by Oliver Peoples. I saw a male associate working, and thought to myself, I should just see if another associate would have a different solution to my lenses replacement inquiry. I spoke with Vu and asked if he had replacement lenses for the Strummer sunglasses in stock? He said let me check. He walked to the repair area behind the desk and came back and said Yes! I actually have a black and grey option available. My jaw dropped and I said lets do the black option. He proceeded to check me out that's where my 2nd shady experience with Eileen went down. He asked her how much for the replacement lenses? she paused for a minute and said $75. I said $75? I was in a few months ago and paid $50. She said oh they used to be $65 and now they raised the price to $75. I said who is they? Oliver Peoples or this store? She said Oliver Peoples. I could tell Eileen came up with that number on the spot and Vu was very equally confused. I proceeded with the repair at the inflated price and Vu rang me up. He stated maybe in January, the associate rang up the wrong non tinted lenses which are indeed $50. Knowing I had the receipt for my January repair at home I just nodded and paid the $75. I can understand price inflation due to material shortages. I just don't appreciate being lied to. The unethical business practices of Eileen at Oliver Peoples is shameful and embarrassing. read more

I want to start this review by saying it wasn't the people working in the store. I was bought two pair of Oliver Peoples for Christmas from my family at oliverpeoples.com. I came to the store to return these glasses, because they were too small and I was told because they were bought online I could not exchange them at the store. I explained that they were bought from Oliver Peoples and I was trying to exchange them at Oliver Peoples, so I am not understanding. I asked if she would please call corporate to make an exception, since we are in a pandemic and I have taken an hour out of my day to come down there. She said they are not allowed to call corporate, just e-mail. Again, she was very polite, but this policy is absolutely bonkers. I had called prior to my visit to see if this store had the frames I had been eyeing for a while. Brian picked up and let me know both colors of the O'Malley I was looking for were in stock, so I made an appointment same day. When I got to the store, I waited a short amount of time before Brian brought out the styles I was looking for and let me try them on. He even brought another pair to try on for good measure. Super slick environment with the largest selection of chic frames I've ever seen. My son in law had bought a killer pair of sunglasses and needing a major adjustment on the ear pieces (after an optical shop out of state said they could help him out). I have been wearing sunglasses from Oliver Peoples for many years. Here's the thing about this company (and I think more specifically this Store) they do everything they possibly can to take care of the customer. Not only are their glasses amazing, but they support the product for as many years as you have it. I owned a pair of Farrells for over 10 years (actually still have them as a backup in my other car) and every so often when I'd come back to the store they would make minor adjustments for me and I'd leave the store with the glasses feeling like new. Recently I purchased a new pair of glasses (The Benedict) from Oliver Peoples and I accidentally dropped them and broke a lens. I was so bummed out! But when I returned them to the store they were able to put a new pair of lenses in the glasses (for a small fee not a big deal) and once again I'm leaving the store with my glasses feeling like new. This place has a great selection of hip sunglasses and optical glasses, but i've been waiting for almost 1 MONTH NOW FOR MY FREAKIN GLASSES!!!! Where are my glasses!!! I called them last week and they said it would be in by Mon or Tues since it was going to be overnighted... well it is now Thurs going on Fri and as of next week I will have waited 1 MONTH!!! This is ridiculous! If I knew I was going to wait this long for my stupid lenses I would have bought the frames and got my lenses somewhere else that very same day!! I understand they don't have an in house place to do lenses, but I could have easily sent my glasses to Korea for cheaper and probably would have received them by now! They haven't even offered any sort of compensation or explanation! They also charged me 190.00 for anti reflection coating!!! SO NOT WORTH IT! Moral of the story: 1. This is my fifth pair of Oliver Peoples' frames and I will never buy from anywhere else. Frames are always on-trend, come in different sizes and colors, but best of all is they are exceptionally durable. I'm hard on glasses and wear them daily - I've had Oli Peoples frames last years without adjustments or repair. My eye prescription fails before the frames wear out! However, don't get me wrong, they are pricey (usually I spend $300-400 a frame including tax). But considering they are unique, have color and size options for anyone, and last practically forever, it's well worth the investment! Tip: sign up in their email list and you'll be notified of their Annual Sale. You can get sunglasses and optical frames for super cheap!!! read more
