Thank you to the associate in the Rockaway mall who adjusted my glasses for me at no charge late Thursday afternoon. She was fantastic!

Without a prescription?   Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed.  Went home and ordered his new glasses at eyebuydirect [dot] com for $70 with 2 day delivery.   Skip LensCrafters.  Shop online from now on.

I called the store to follow up on 8/29/2020 and spoke with an associate named Ryan. Ryan gave me 3 different answers in 3 sentences. He told me my ordered was shipped but not received and then not shipped. When I questioned him on the contradictions in his answers he became belligerent and testy and answered that the order was shipped and not received. No apology but an offer of a $50 credit when my order arrives. It seems that Ryan does not understand the basics of customer service. There was no need for his attitude. An explanation and not the standard of delay is due to COVID-19 and an apology would have been sufficient. The response and attitude were and are not appreciated. This is not my first purchase at this location but it may be my last as service here has deteriorated over the years. Initially I chose this location for the doctors and the fact that glasses were made on site. There is nothing like 1 hour service. The doctors are great but for a few years no onsite production and no staff with attitudes. With so many businesses competing for my patronage, why should I continue to use your services?

My mother, my sister, and I visited this location yesterday to purchase eyeglasses for my mother…read more We are African-American, and our experience raised serious concerns about discriminatory treatment. Almost immediately after the initial greeting, we were asked whether my mother had insurance -- not once, but multiple times. The question quickly shifted to, "What type of insurance is it?" We were initially assisted by someone who appeared to be in training, and then another employee came over and asked the exact same question again. The repeated focus on insurance happened before anyone took the time to ask what my mother was looking for or offer meaningful assistance with frames. While my mother was trying on glasses, another non-white family entered the store. After their greeting, they too were immediately asked what type of insurance they had. At that point, it became difficult to ignore the pattern. Shortly afterward, a Caucasian woman walked in, and the difference in tone and approach was striking. She was warmly asked what brought her in, what styles she preferred, and was engaged in friendly conversation. We did not hear her being questioned about insurance upfront in the same persistent manner. Insurance is a normal part of the purchasing process. However, when customers of color are immediately and repeatedly questioned about insurance, while a white customer is approached with warmth and general service questions first, it raises legitimate concerns about racial bias. The disparity in treatment felt discriminatory. For context, we spent $900 on two pairs of frames. Despite making a significant purchase, the service we received did not reflect respect or equal treatment. We will not be returning to this location under any circumstances, nor would we recommend it. Management should seriously evaluate how implicit bias may be influencing customer interactions. Every customer deserves equitable treatment.

Very rude and unprofessional and not helpful at all. All they want is you to spend more money. I would never purchase anything from them ever again. Horrible experience.

At this particular Walmart, my wife has been getting her eyeglasses for a few years and has always been very satisfied. However, last week, my wife's newest pairs of reading glasses and prescription sunglasses arrived just before closing. The optician, Ms. Diana Corujo, called and said she would wait for us until we got there. We arrived a few minutes before closing time but she didn't rush us, despite being well after her regular quitting time. She carefully fitted each pair. Helped her select the right case to protect here new optics and then spent several minutes adjusting her old pair of regular glasses. Ms. Corujo was personable, professional, concerned that the glasses fit perfectly and unconcerned about the clock - having stayed nearly 45 minutes past normal closing. That kind of service is 5 star worthy and I think she is to be commended for her integrity and both her skill and talent (they are not the same - ask me to explain the difference...) Need glasses? This could be the place for you - but I suggest that you seek the help from Ms. Coujo to experience real old fashion friendly, competent customer service. Highly recommended.
