A-OK, but appointment scheduling can be hectic sometimes, and the wait in the waiting room can be long.

Anyway, we decided to get our prescriptions and order the glasses online. Turns out we were not given all of the pertinent information necessary to order the glasses. When we called they said they absolutely would not give it to us because we didn't buy their overpriced glasses. Do not go there unless you're willing to pay big bucks. The same glasses online are half the price. Update: my boyfriend and I just got second opinions on our prescriptions and our original ones were incorrect!!! Stay away from here!

Given the wrong prescription glasses & a lecture on how it was my fault, not their mistake. The…read moreONLY reason I tried this place was they were covered by my insurance. Initially I was extremely happy with the exam and how quickly I was seen that I had referred four other people to the office. Then I picked up my glasses and as I'm sitting here writing this review I'm completely astounded by the total denial of accountability and disregard I experienced. First, I have been wearing glasses since I was about 7 or 8 years old so single vision glasses are NOT something I need to get used to. I'm at that age that I now need THREE distinctly different prescriptions, one prescription to drive, walk around, do random things like cook, clean, watch TV, a second prescription to work on a computer and a third to read a book, menu, ingredients on a package or directions on medications. Progressives really didn't work well for me so I wanted to get all 3 of my prescriptions updated and order glasses for the computer because I was starting a new position that would have me looking at a computer screen more that 10 hours a day between work & personal activity. When my glasses arrived, they were simply given to me and not checked on me for proper fit or anything else, just handed to me that's it. I get home, sit in front of my computer and put on my new glasses and no exaggeration I can't read anything on the computer screen no matter what distance I position myself from the screen! Now not just the words are so blurry they are almost a smear and completely indiscernible, but the icons and background are also blurry and distorted. So, I grab a piece of mail ok I can read that perfectly no problem at all even the miniscule print! Thing is I was VERY clear I ordered glasses for my computer prescription, so I called the office to let them know they had made a mistake when they ordered them because I can't read the computer screen at all. To which I was told I must try to get used to them for two weeks! I insisted they are the wrong prescription they are the reading prescription. The receptionist lectured me on how they did NOT make any mistake and it was my fault because I told the doctor when he examined me that I was able to see with the prescription they ordered! The lecture continued and she went on to state that I needed to understand that I'm part of a "TEAM" with the doctor and it is my fault for answering the doctor the way I did during the exam!!!! I have NEVER heard a line of BS so astoundingly ridiculous in my entire life!! Additionally, the receptionist informed me that the doctor refuses to see me to check the glasses unless I pay $64 for a recheck fee as my insurance will not cover that fee!!!! It's blatantly obvious the reading prescription was ordered and this place refuses to take any responsibility for their error. I've made sure to rescind my 4 referrals before the people I told to go here can make an appointment, so they can go elsewhere. I also plan to report this to my insurance carrier immediately, but I'm doubtful that will matter to this facility or to the insurance, but if you have read this review, you would be wise to choose another provider like Lens Crafters or someplace that at least stands behind the glasses they prescribe. If you must pay out of pocket and do not have insurance that covers vision, DEFINITELY go somewhere that provides some kind of guarantee and won't blame you and charge you for their gross ineptitude.

Outstanding Customer Service…read more I have been a customer of the Pearl Vision Sparta and Rockaway locations since 2020 and have worn Silhouette eyeglasses for over 25 years. My last three purchases have been through Pearl Vision. With my first two purchases, everything was perfect--no issues at all. Unfortunately, my most recent purchase in November 2024 did not go as smoothly. Due to what I believe is a defective frame, I had to return the glasses for repair three times. However, this was absolutely no fault of Pearl Vision. Each time I visited both locations, the staff members were nothing short of spectacular. They never once suggested the issue was my fault. In fact, they did quite the opposite--they took full responsibility for what appeared to be a flaw in the frame or lenses and handled the situation professionally and promptly. While the customer service during all three purchases was very good, their customer service after the sale was truly outstanding. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence. Manny Quinoa

We could not have had a better experience with this team of professionals…read more Dr. Patel and her team are absolutely wonderful. I have never needed glasses before and this was my first exam in over 10 years. They were patient with me and explained all the equipment. They were funny at time and the doctor, herself, was extremely knowledgable. By the time I left I felt like part of the Dr Patel & Pearl Vision Family. My husband who needs glasses every year was blow away by the professionalism, knowledge, insight and respect he was shown. The glasses reps on the Pearl Vision side, Rick & Cliff are fabulous. They have such a sense of style, comfort and affordability depending on your needs when helping you pick out frames. Rick is a VSP insurance rep so he knew everything about our plan. Cliff was amazing when working all our savings on the computer and has 35 years experience in optometry and glasses sales. Thank you so much for helping my husband and I. We will be back soon with an appointment for my daughter to join your practice. Hope you all have a happy new year.

I have been going to Family Vision Care since I was a child, but my most recent experience was so…read moredisappointing that I will not be returning. I came in for a simple adjustment because my glasses were sliding down, and after the optician worked on them, the frames became warped, uneven, and uncomfortable. I went back two more times to have the issue addressed, but the adjustments never fixed the problem and only made the frames worse. On my third visit, I tried to explain that my glasses had been damaged and asked about a fair resolution. Instead of acknowledging my concerns, the optician dismissed me, insisted she had done nothing wrong, and told me I should just get new frames -- despite these being $300 frames that were perfectly fine before the adjustments. What made this worse was the unprofessional way I was treated. My concerns were brushed off, I was told to take my business elsewhere if I didn't trust her, and I have since received no response to my follow-up messages or the phone number I left for the doctor. This is not how loyal patients should be treated. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Family Vision Care after this experience.
