I recently started going to Target optical because my eye doctor started practicing there. Before this my eye doctor worked for Sears optical. I was a former customer of Sears optical for many years and was very happy with the Service I got there.
Well my first impression of Target optical wasn't good. I stopped in to make an appointment for both my daughter & myself. There were two people in the store, the lady that worked there and a customer she was helping. She asked me if we could come back in 15 minutes because she was helping a customer. We left and when we came back at least 2O minutes later she was still helping the same customer. She completely ignored us as we stood there waiting for her to help us. After about 10 minutes, I got discussed and decided to leave and call at another time to make our appointments. Happily for me the next time I was at Target optical I saw my good friend who works there, he was a former employee of Sears optical. I explained what happened the last time I was there and he was very apologetic. He then helped me make an appointment for myself. I did also mention the situation with the lady employee to my eye doctor when I went for my exam. He also was apologetic. Apparently this lady is rude to a lot of people. After my appointment I had to order new glasses and contacts, which my friend helped me with, he was working that day. My contacts are special order so he told me it would probably take 3 weeks to come in. I have encountered this before with my contact order so I had no problem waiting. Within a week my glasses were in, I decided to pick up both when my contacts came in. About 5 weeks go by, I get a call from my friend who helped me and apologized it was taking longer than expected and he would check into it for me. I was ok with that. So a few days go by and I decided to call Target Optical for an update on my contacts. Unfortunately for me, the rude lady answers. I explain the situation and she abruptly tells me to give it more time and she will check on it. Later she calls me back a little nicer when she realizes how long I've been waiting. She offers me "a couple" pairs of trial lens for my trouble and she will take care of it, she's working on it. My eye doctor very nicely offers to drop off my glasses and trials which made me feel a little better. Actually I only got 1 free pair of trials not a couple. So more time goes by about 3 weeks still no contacts or updates. I call again the rude lady answers and tells me it was good that I called "to light a fire under her" So apparently she hadn't followed up on anything. That made me very frustrated. I mentioned I was going to stop by to have my glasses adjusted over the weekend. She said she would let me know then what was going on. Saturday comes, I go there, she helps adjust my glasses tells me she is going to call a contact that she knows at the company to get an update. Also she tells me it's taking a long time because the company is overseas, something about France. So she says she will call me Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes and no call. I call on Thursday and thankfully my friend who works there answers. I explain everything, he apologized again and told me he was taking care of it until the lady took over and said she would take care of it. He had no idea that nothing was getting done until I told him. He said he would get to the bottom of the situation and call me back, which I know he will. Three months is far too long to wait for my contacts. It's unfortunate that this could have been taken care of if one person was doing her job. Everyone else is nice and accommodating there, it just takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I will continue to see my eye doctor there, but I will absolutely NOT be purchasing another pair of glasses or contacts again at Target Optical. read more
