SHE WAS MADE FUN OF BECAUSE SHE SPOKE SPANISH!! I spoke to Sierra, who was there at the appointment yesterday and she, of course, had no clue what I was talking about My friend was then told the frames she was looking at, was unaffordable for her. and then on top of that, her car keys were left on the counter, and somehow they mysteriously had gotten hidden from her. it's unimaginable to me that a place that is supposed to be professional that I recommended to her brought her home in tears. I pray this does not happen to anybody else because nobody should have to be treated this way. Lesson learned.

So I couldn't really see anything at all. Given this, I got a call and went to the side of the clinic to take the call. A doctor went up to me and said that I couldn't take the call there. So left and went to the waiting area. When I got there she said I still couldn't talk there. I was like ??? Where do I go to take the call? I was technically blind that time cause I really couldn't see given the solution they gave . Then I ended up going back to the lobby. Weirdly enough the doctor who told me to not talk in the waiting area became my doctor. Lol. So I said, doctor I really can't see anything she was stating that there was a sign or whatever but other people were talking in the waiting area too. Long story short I don't think I'm going back here again. I was being nice during the whole time but it wasn't a great experience for me.

When getting my glasses, I will concede that my insurance benefits were never reviewed and prices of additional options not discussed. I shouldn't have to prompt for this information; it should be standard. I will continue to see Dr Meade for my exams, but I will be looking into alternatives for eyewear purchases.

Without a prescription?   Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed.  Went home and ordered his new glasses at eyebuydirect [dot] com for $70 with 2 day delivery.   Skip LensCrafters.  Shop online from now on.

My mother, my sister, and I visited this location yesterday to purchase eyeglasses for my mother…read more We are African-American, and our experience raised serious concerns about discriminatory treatment. Almost immediately after the initial greeting, we were asked whether my mother had insurance -- not once, but multiple times. The question quickly shifted to, "What type of insurance is it?" We were initially assisted by someone who appeared to be in training, and then another employee came over and asked the exact same question again. The repeated focus on insurance happened before anyone took the time to ask what my mother was looking for or offer meaningful assistance with frames. While my mother was trying on glasses, another non-white family entered the store. After their greeting, they too were immediately asked what type of insurance they had. At that point, it became difficult to ignore the pattern. Shortly afterward, a Caucasian woman walked in, and the difference in tone and approach was striking. She was warmly asked what brought her in, what styles she preferred, and was engaged in friendly conversation. We did not hear her being questioned about insurance upfront in the same persistent manner. Insurance is a normal part of the purchasing process. However, when customers of color are immediately and repeatedly questioned about insurance, while a white customer is approached with warmth and general service questions first, it raises legitimate concerns about racial bias. The disparity in treatment felt discriminatory. For context, we spent $900 on two pairs of frames. Despite making a significant purchase, the service we received did not reflect respect or equal treatment. We will not be returning to this location under any circumstances, nor would we recommend it. Management should seriously evaluate how implicit bias may be influencing customer interactions. Every customer deserves equitable treatment.
